Wellsboro’s Junior High Volleyball team swept Sugar Valley Rural Charter in straight sets Thursday evening to shake off back-to-back losses.
Wellsboro took the first set 25-11 then edged Sugar Valley 25-22 to win the second. Kyerra Heck led the young Lady Hornets with 11 points and 3 aces while Taeber Rodriguez had 5 points and 3 aces. Nora Mickey added 3 points, one kill and an ace, and Reese Eckart had 2 kills.
Alexis Dunning and Rachel Weaver made 2 assists each, and Dunning also scored 4 points (3 aces).
Harper Bourret also added a kill and Ella Satalin recorded a dig.
Wellsboro improves their record to 4-2 and travels to Towanda Saturday morning.
