What happened on WWE NXT this week?
This weekâ€s show kicked off with a promo from The Culling as Tatum Paxley hyped up her NXT Womenâ€s Championship match this weekend at Halloween Havoc. They were interrupted by Fatal Influence, who tried to plant seeds of distrust between Paxley and Izzi Dame before all the women brawled and set up a tag match for later in the show.
Leon Slater defeated Channing ‘Stacks†Lorenzo to retain the TNA X-Division Championship.
Elsewhere on the show, Jasper Troy and Axiom won their respective Speed matches to advance in the tournament to earn a title shot at El Grande Americano.
In the closing segment of the evening, Ricky Saints and Trick Williams had a contract signing for their NXT Championship match this weekend at Halloween Havoc. Williams attacked Saints, but ended up going through a table to end the show.
Hereâ€s an overall review of Tuesdayâ€s episode of NXT courtesy of our live coverage page…
WWE NXT Review:
This episode was a bit of a slog. Underwhelming promos and average in-ring action equal a hard-to-watch and at times boring show. If there was an angle that needed a tag match, it was the Starks/Williams conflict. Contract signings are death to any show at this point, regardless of how impassioned the championâ€s promo was. Hopefully, this weekendâ€s Halloween Havoc will serve as a reset point for what used to be the best wrestling show on TV.
