WWE is reportedly hoping to lock down another talent well ahead of their contract expiring at some point next year.
One-half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions, Dragon Lee, will see his current contract with the company expire at some point in 2026. Although if WWE management has their way, heâ€ll be locked down to a new deal well ahead of time.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Dragon Lee has received rave reviews from those within the company following his match against Dominik Mysterio over the weekend at AAA Heroes Inmortales. So much so that there are people in WWE making it clear that they need to lock Lee down to a new deal well before his contract expires next year.
Lee reportedly signed a 3-year deal with WWE back in December 2022. So it appears some injury time has been added to his current deal for his contract to expire in 2026.
What has Dragon Lee done in WWE so far?
Despite being signed to WWE in December 2022, Dragon Lee didnâ€t make his on-screen debut with the company until April. This debut saw Lee score a victory over Nathan Frazer on NXT.
Several months later, in December, Lee, who had already been called up to the main roster, would defeat Dominik Mysterio at NXT Deadline to become the new North American Champion. His title reign didnâ€t last particularly long as he lost the title a month later to Oba Femi.
Eleven months later, Lee would defeat Andrade to become the WWE Speed Champion. This title reign lasted six months before dropping it to El Grande Americano. Earlier this month, Lee and AJ Styles defeated The Judgment Day to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. This is Leeâ€s first major title with the company.
