WWE legend’s deal with World Wrestling Entertainment may have already expired.
Many legends were brought back by WWE in recent years for either special guest appearances, backstage segments, on-screen involvement, and much more. Among those was Jesse Ventura. It’s been well-known that his relationship with the Stamford-based promotion hasn’t always been the best due to his previous issues with Vince McMahon over wrestlers forming unions. In October last year, “hell froze over” after announcing that he signed a Legends deal.
On December 14, 2024, WWE brought back Saturday Night’s Main Event after 16 years, and joining this return was Jesse Ventura. He served as the broadcast host with Joe Tessitore and was at the announce desk during Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed Championship.
He was present for the next two Saturday Night’s Main Events in January and May of this year. However, he was absent for the final two in July for Goldberg’s retirement match and earlier this month in Salt Lake City, Utah. From the looks of it, his absence may be linked to his WWE deal.

Jesse Ventura’s WWE Contract May Have Already Expired
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that Jesse Ventura is no longer under a WWE contract. The former stated that if his contract was only for a year, it had already expired last month.
It was also noted that his commentary during Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre’s steel cage match during the May edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event might be one of the main reasons for the company not using him anymore. The latter report was also acknowledged by Fightful Select, stating that his criticisms of matches were part of the “various” reasons he wasn’t used.
