Purdue reportedly added a 7’0″ center to its 2026 recruiting class on Wednesday, continuing the Boilermakers’ tradition of boasting a large frontcourt.
4-star center prospect Sinan Huan committed to Matt Painter’s program, according to Rivals’ Joe Tipton.
The Boilermakers have had a 7-footer on their roster in every season since their 2012-13 campaign, including big men such as Will Berg, Zach Edey, Matt Haarms, Isaac Haas, AJ Hammons and Daniel Jacobsen. Edey was notably the two-time National Player of the Year before being drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies.
As for Huan, he’s listed as the No. 8 center and No. 72 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class (via 247Sports’ composite rankings).
He received offers from Alabama, Creighton, Northwestern, Illinois, Florida, Mississippi State and Penn State before choosing Purdue.
Huan showed off his rim protection skills while suiting up for China at the FIBA U19 World Cup, averaging 11.3 points and 4.6 rebounds to go along with 5.0 blocks per game across seven appearances. He also shot 55.4 percent from the field.
Purdue has opened its 2025-26 season with a 2-0 record, looking to make a March Madness appearance for the 17th time under Painter.
