    Hat-Tricks in the Asia Cup:The Asia Cup is a professional cricket tournament that was founded and is organized by the Asian Cricket Council. The Asia Cup is played on a rotation basis between ODIs and T20Is. The Asia Cup tournament was established in 1983, and since then, only 3 Asian teams have won the Asia Cup Trophy. The Indian cricket team has won the tournament 8 times, while the Sri Lankan cricket team has won the trophy 6 times, and the Pakistani cricket team has won the tournament twice.

    The Indian cricket team are the defending champions. They won the 2023 Asia Cup when they defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. The 2025 Asia Cup is to begin on September 9, 2025. The 2025 Asia Cup will feature 8 Asian teams that will compete against each other, and the tournament will be hosted by the UAE.

    List of Hat-Tricks in the Asia Cup

    Over the years, there have been only two hat-tricks in the Asia Cup, including the first hat-trick taken by Kapil Dev against the Sri Lankan cricket team in 1991. He took the wickets of Roshan Mahanama, Rumesh Ratnayake, and Sanath Jayasuriya. Dev took 4 wickets in that match and led India to victory, where they defeated team Sri Lanka by 7 wickets.

    The second hat-trick in the Asia Cup was taken by former Sri Lankan cricketer Farveez Maharoof in 2010 in a match against Team India. He took the wickets of Ravindra Jadeja, Parveen Kumar, and Zaheer Khan. Maharoof took 5 wickets in that match for 42 runs and led the Sri Lankan team to victory against Team India by 7 wickets.
