When will Gavi return from Injury:Barcelona will be without Pablo Gavi until after the international break, manager Hansi Flick confirmed on Saturday. The 20-year-old midfielder, who hurt his right knee in training on Friday, missed the club’s weekend trip to Rayo Vallecano.
When will Gavi return from Injury?
“The plan is for Gavi to be available for Valencia on September 14,” Flick said. “He’s improving daily, but we won’t rush him.”
Gavi, a mainstay in last season’s title run, only recently returned from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him for 11 months. He had been called up by Spain for World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Turkey, but was subsequently withdrawn by the federation after his latest setback.
Flick also moved to quash transfer speculation around Fermin Lopez. The midfielder, linked with Chelsea and Newcastle United, is expected to remain at the Camp Nou. “Fermin scores goals, creates chances, and above all, belongs to Barca,” Flick said. “I think he will stay.”
Barcelona, unbeaten so far under Flick, are targeting a third straight league win. Ahead lies not only domestic competition but a testing Champions League group including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Newcastle. “For this club, the goal is always the Champions League,” Flick remarked. “We know what awaits.”
