San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is not interested in clearing up any of the speculation about his exact height heading into the 2025-26 NBA season.
The Spurs have listed Wembanyama’s height at 7’3″, 7’4″ and 7’5″, while ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recently expressed belief he is “approaching 7’7.”
“Over the years, it’s become a non-subject to me, because in my opinion there’s so many more interesting things about me,” Wembanyama said with a smile when asked about the rumors surrounding his height at the 6:15 mark of his Monday press conference.
Wembanyama continued, “Sometimes I’m surprised that it’s still a conversation, because the truth is in my mind, it doesn’t really make a difference. I’m taller than anybody else. That’s all you need to know.”
The Spurs are set to open the season at the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. ET.
In terms of weight, the Spurs star was listed at 235 pounds by his team ahead of both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. He was listed at 237 pounds ahead of the 2023 NBA draft.
Wembanyama said in June that he was up to 245 pounds, and told Kevin Hart in an October episode of Cold as Balls he had gained “probably like 30 pounds” since his NBA debut.
After missing the end of the 2024-25 season following a February diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, Wembanyama spent the offseason trying out a range of new training techniques including practicing kung fu at a Shaolin temple in China.
Wembanyama, who was cleared to return to basketball activity in July, told reporters in September that he had added “muscle mass” through what he described as that “brutal” offseason regimen.
“I feel better. I look stronger. The scale says I’m heavier… I’m so much more under control, and my conditioning has been so much better,” Wembanyama said in September.
The exact numbers of Wembanyama’s height and weight won’t matter nearly as much as his ability to stay healthy this season after being limited to just 46 games last season.
With De’Aaron Fox sidelined by a hamstring injury, Wembanyama may be tasked with an even larger offensive role when he returns to the Spurs lineup for the first time in seven months during Wednesday night’s season opener against Cooper Flagg and the Mavericks.
