PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University women’s volleyball continued its winning start to the 2025 season with a dominant straight-set victory over Caldwell University on Saturday afternoon at the Goldstein Fitness Center. The Setters improved to 2-0 on the year with the 25-13, 25-16, 25-15 victory.

The Blue and Gold wasted no time establishing control, surging ahead early behind the efficient attacking of Kadence Ackmann and Emily Cineus. Ackmann posted four kills in the frame while Cineus added three, giving Pace momentum from the outset. The Setters’ defense limited Caldwell to a .069 hitting percentage, while Alice Bender anchored the back row with five digs. Pace pulled away late to secure the opener, 25-13.

Pace kept its foot on the gas in the second set, fueled by a balanced attack and a steady serving presence. Setter Camila Rodriguez distributed seven assists in the frame and added two aces, while Skyler Tennant and Ackmann each tallied three kills. The Setters also controlled the net, with Ileann Alessandra Perez contributing two blocks. Behind an effective attack at the net, Pace closed out the set, 25–16, to double its match advantage.

Caldwell showed fight in the third, keeping things close through several ties and lead changes. The Setters responded with another strong push, highlighted by late kills from Cineus and Tennant. Freshman Keelah Chambliss provided an instant spark off the bench with four kills on nine attempts. Rodriguez and libero Aralyn Saulys steadied the back line with nine combined digs, while Pace produced a match-high 11 kills in the frame to finish off the sweep, 25–15.

Pace controlled the serve-and-pass game, racking up nine aces against just one from the visitors while also leading 51-37 in digs.

The Setters continue non-conference play on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. when the Setters travel to face Mercy University.
