Volleyball Earns Key Road Win in Four Sets Over Assumption

WORCESTER, MA. – On Saturday afternoon, Pace University Women’s Volleyball turned in a strong road performance earning a 3-1 victory over Assumption University inside Andrew Laska Gymnasium. The Setters improve to 10-10 overall and 2-6 in Northeast 10 (NE10) play as they continue into the closing stretch of the regular season.

The Blue and Gold opened the match with one of its most efficient sets of the year, hitting .464 on the way to a commanding 25-12 win. Early kills from Kadence Ackmann and Keelah Chambliss helped set the tone, and steady serving kept the Greyhounds on the defensive.

The second frame proved far more competitive, featuring seven ties and three lead changes. Tied at 21, the Setters closed on a 4-1 run behind a pair of kills from Ackmann and a service ace from Aralyn Saulys to secure a 25-22 win and a 2-0 match lead.

Assumption battled back in the third, taking advantage of Pace errors despite 14 Setter kills in the set. The Greyhounds pulled away late to win 25-21 and extended the match.

In the fourth, Pace quickly refocused. Timely kills from Chambliss, Ackmann, and McKenzie Eddington kept the Setters in front, while the defense held firm, led by 19 digs from Alice Bender and 10 more from Saulys. Pace closed out the frame, 25-21, to secure the 3-1 win away from their home court.

Ackmann led the squad with 15 kills and 10 digs, recording her seventh double-double this year. Saulys contributed four aces and 10 digs, while Bender highlighted the backcourt with a match-high 19 digs. As a team, Pace totaled 12 service aces and hit .240 across the four sets.

With another win in the books, Pace remains right in the mix for the final conference spot in the NE10. Up next, volleyball will return home for Senior Day and its final home match of the regular season next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against American International College.
