The affordability marks a significant shift in approach by the ICC, with the goal of drawing record crowds and making the women’s game accessible to all. For comparison, tickets at the previous edition in New Zealand (2022) cost NZD 7 for children (~ Rs 350) and NZD 17 for adults (~ Rs 850), nearly eight times higher than the current pricing.‘Bring it Home’Adding to the buzz, celebrated Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal will headline the grand opening ceremony in Guwahati on September 30. Ghoshal will also perform the yet-to-be-released tournament anthem “Bring it Home.” The spectacle will precede the high-voltage opener between co-hosts India and Sri Lanka. The 13th edition of the Women’s World Cup, returning to India after 12 years, will feature eight teams: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, and South Africa. With a record prize pool of USD 13.88 million — almost four times the 2022 edition — the tournament promises to be the biggest chapter yet in women’s cricket history. With such affordable tickets, the ICC is betting on packed stadiums, electrifying atmospheres, and a new wave of fans embracing women’s cricket like never before.
