For the first time in the WWE-TNA partnership, TNA talents are carrying WWE NXT championship gold. This comes after TNAâ€s Matt and Jeff Hardy defeated DarkStateâ€s Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin in a Winner Takes All Match, which put both the TNA World Tag Team and NXT Tag Team Championships on the line at Showdown. According to TNA executive Tommy Dreamer, this victory now cements the Hardy Boyz as the best tag team ever.

“How can you walk around planet Earth, and after this moment, say that the Hardy Boyz are not the greatest tag team of all time?†Dreamed asked on Busted Open Radio. “Because the Hardy Boyz, after their victory last night, and attaining a title that has eluded them in their entire career, now makes them the greatest tag team of all time in the history of tag team wrestling.â€

Across their 30-year in-ring careers, Matt and Jeff have captured tag team titles in WWE, TNA, NWA, Ring of Honor, and several independent promotions. NXT x TNA Showdown marks the first time the brothers have tasted NXT tag gold, as the set of titles previously escaped them.

This weekend, The Hardy Boyz will defend their TNA World Tag Team Championships against Bully Ray and D-Von Dudley, another legendary team whoâ€ve famously rivaled Matt and Jeff, at TNA Bound For Glory. This title match have the added stipulation of tables.
