Timothée Chalamet feels WWE didnâ€t realize how big this wrestler was back in the day.
Actor Timothée Chalamet was a recent guest on Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes†What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast. As a long-time wrestling fan, he felt that WWE was at the intersection of his interests, sports, and pop culture.
He then noted that he was a big fan of former WWE Superstar The Boogeyman and that he feels the company failed to recognize his potential.
“To me, as a big sports fan, big Knicks fan, also a huge fan of acting, and Hollywood, this (WWE) was the intersection, growing up. That is for charismatic on-the-mic guys like The Rock and Stone Cold, but also like Marty Wright, The Boogeyman. Like freaky, out of left field sh*t. He was a Tough Enough contestant. He is sort of one of the most underrated. I feel like they didnâ€t realize how big he was at the time.â€
Why WWE Wonâ€t Run Shows At Hammerstein Ballroom Anymore
Speaking in the same interview, Timothée Chalamet shared that ECW One Night Stand 2006 was his favorite wrestling pay-per-view of all time. He then revealed that he pitched an idea to Triple H for WWE to run a future event at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
However, the WWE Chief Content Officer explained to him why itâ€s no longer possible.
“I want to go see a show at Hammerstein,†Timothée Chalamet said. “I talked to Triple H. He said itâ€s basically impossible to make money there. He said thereâ€s one elevator you have to load everything in and out of.â€
Cody Rhodes chimed in, saying, “Heâ€s right, and I appreciate that he gave you logistics because at least he was thinking about it. The other thing is, itâ€s the worst back of house ever. God bless Manhattan Center and Hammerstein. Itâ€s open windows, freezing, thereâ€s no room for anything.†[H/T: WrestlePurists]
