There were reports that WWE had released Ridge Holland with no love lost, but the story has now taken a positive twist.
Ridge Holland was signed with World Wrestling Entertainment from 2018 to 2025, where he performed in NXT and SmackDown, and even worked some premium live events. His most noteworthy time was when he rolled with The Brawling Brutes, led by former WWE Champion Sheamus. During The Celtic Warrior’s rivalry with Gunther in 2022, Holland and Pete Dunne (aka Butch) were heavily featured on the flagship shows.
Towards the end of his career at the Stamford-based promotion, the Englishman worked for NXT and Evolve until WWE began its partnership with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He debuted at TNA Victory Road in September, where he lost to Mike Santana in a singles contest.
The former WWE star was abruptly let go on November 5 after he reportedly breached his contract. But now, he has shed light on his situation.
Ridge Holland Says WWE Will Pay For His Neck Fusion Surgery That Will Put Him Out Of Action Through Early 2026
A GoFundMe was recently launched with the intention of raising $60,000 to help support Ridge Holland and his family in the coming months. It currently sits at just over $10,000. WWE Superstars Chelsea Green and Omos are among those who have contributed.
Meanwhile, fans wondered why Ridge Holland needed the money, as he had reportedly been earning six figures in WWE. The 37-year-old clarified via his social media following backlash that it was set up by a family member without his involvement.
And now on X/Twitter, WrestleVotes reported that Ridge Holland has disclosed on the forthcoming episode of the Busted Open podcast that WWE will be paying for his neck fusion surgery, which is going to keep him out of action until at least May 2026.
Luke Menzies [Ridge Holland] says on Busted Open just now WWE is paying for his upcoming neck fusion surgery – that will have him out of action until at least May,” reported WrestleVotes.
An unfortunate incident that plagued Ridge Holland’s career in WWE was Big E’s injury. Holland recently expressed disappointment, stating that he had to live with the fact that he will “always be the guy that ended Big Eâ€s career.”
