The Undertaker Breaks Down the Number of Surgeries From His WWE Career

The Undertaker is one of the most legendary figures in wrestling history — but behind the mystique of “The Deadman†lies decades of real pain.

During his interview with Tom Segura, the WWE icon opened up about the true physical cost of his Hall of Fame career, revealing the staggering number of surgeries heâ€s had to undergo just to keep moving. When asked about the toll wrestling took on his body, The Undertaker didnâ€t hesitate to break it down.

“Well, let—how long we got? I can run them down,†he began before listing years of damage. “Iâ€ve had both knees replaced at this point, partial hip replacements. Thatâ€s just from the wear and tear. But like acute injuries? Iâ€ve blown out both eye sockets—Iâ€ve had orbital blowout fractures in both eyes. Iâ€ve been set on fire. Actually, Iâ€ve been set on fire twice.â€

Then came the insane number that would even shock longtime fans.

“Torn muscles, concussions, numerous lacerations, broken bones… 18 surgeries total to replace and fix wrestling-related injuries.â€

The Undertaker explained that his generation of wrestlers didnâ€t have the medical safety protocols that todayâ€s stars do. Back then, it was all about getting to the ring no matter how bad you were hurt.

“Back then, if you could figure out how to get to the ring, you went to the ring. And if you got hurt during the match, you did your best to get out of it.â€

He also praised the modern WWE system, noting how far athlete care has come since his days on the road.

“Now weâ€ve got doctors ringside, trainers—itâ€s treated like a major league sporting event. The athletes are very well taken care of now. Not so much in the â€90s and before.â€

Even after enduring nearly two dozen operations and countless injuries, The Undertaker said he has no regrets about the grind that made him a legend.

“I try not to complain about it because I knew the whole time that eventually something was gonna break. You donâ€t play the game that hard and not have residual effects.â€

Eighteen surgeries, two fires, and one of the most iconic careers in WWE history — The Undertakerâ€s body might bear the scars, but his legacy remains untouchable.

After hearing The Undertaker reveal heâ€s had 18 surgeries from his wrestling career, do you think any current WWE star could handle that kind of punishment today? Drop your thoughts below and let us know what you think.
