On Friday, the U.S. and European Ryder Cup teams will begin a three-day battle for the 45th Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. Anticipation for the biennial exhibition has been building since the Europeans won the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome by the commanding margin of 16.5-11.5.

The Europeans will be hoping to win their first Cup overseas since the close match at Medinah in 2012, which Europe won 14.5-13.5.

Each team is comprised of 12 players. Six players on each team qualified automatically while the other six were selected by each team’s respective captains. Below, you can find information on the players on each team, as well as the names of the captains and their assistants.

    2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team

    Captain: Keegan Bradley

Keegan Bradley won the PGA Championship in 2011 and played on two Ryder Cup teams in 2012 and 2014, both of which were won by the Europeans. Bradley has a 4-3-0 career record.

    Vice captains

    Jim Furyk

Furyk competed in nine Ryder Cups as a player, compiling a 10-20-4 career record. Furyk is serving as vice captain for the fourth time after captaining the U.S. Ryder Cup team in Paris in 2018.

    Brandt Snedeker

Snedeker went 4-2-0 in two Ryder Cup appearances, including a 3-0-0 performance in 2016. This year marks his first time as a vice captain.

    Gary Woodland

The 2019 U.S. Open champ has never played a Ryder Cup and is serving as vice captain for the first time.

    Webb Simpson

Simpson, the 2012 U.S. Open champion, is serving as vice captain for the first time, but played in three Ryder Cups, coming away with a 4-4-1 record.

    Kevin Kisner

The four-time Tour winner is now a lead analyst for NBC’s golf coverage. Though Kisner never played a Ryder Cup, he won the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in 2019 and finished runner-up two other times.

    U.S. players

    Scottie Scheffler

The World No. 1 just clinched his sixth PGA Tour win of the year and the 19th of his career at the Procore Championship. In two Ryder Cup appearances, Scheffler has a 2-2-3 record.

    J.J. Spaun

The reigning U.S. Open champ is one of four rookies on the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

    Xander Schauffele

Schauffele has a 4-4-0 record in two previous Ryder Cup appearances.

    Russell Henley

Henley is making his Ryder Cup debut. The 36-year-old PGA Tour veteran won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March for his fifth career victory.

    Harris English

English was a captain’s pick at the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, where he went 1-2-0. He won the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year for his fifth career win.

    Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau, a two-time major champion, did not play the 2023 Ryder Cup but has a 2-3-1 record in two previous Ryder Cup appearances in 2018 and 2021.

    Justin Thomas

Thomas has one win and three runner-up finishes this season and is playing in his fourth straight Ryder Cup after receiving a captain’s pick in 2023. He has a 7-4-2 overall record.

    Collin Morikawa

Morikawa is playing his third straight Ryder Cup and has a 4-3-1 overall record.

    Ben Griffin

Griffin is playing his first Ryder Cup after a banner year that included two wins and two runner-up finishes.

    Cameron Young

Young, a New York native, became the first amateur player to ever win the New York State Open at Bethpage Black in 2017. He’s making his Ryder Cup debut this year.

Cantlay has a 5-2-1 record in two previous Ryder Cup appearances.

    Sam Burns

Burns is a captain’s pick for the second time after going 1-2-0 at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome.

    2025 European Ryder Cup team

    Captain: Luke Donald

Luke Donald played on four straight Ryder Cup teams between 2004 and 2012, all four of which Europe won, and Donald came away with a 10-4-1 individual record (good enough for No. 14 on the all-time points list). Donald served as vice captain twice, and captained the 2023 European team to victory in Rome. He’s attempting to become the first European to captain back-to-back victories since Tony Jacklin won three in a row between 1985 and 1989.

    Vice captains

    Thomas Bjorn

Bjorn played on three winning European Ryder Cup teams between 1997 and 2014, and then captained a winning European team in 2018 in Paris. This year will mark the sixth time Bjorn has been tapped as a vice captain.

    Jose Maria Olazabal

A veteran of seven Ryder Cups as a player (with an 18-8-5 record), Olazabal captained the European team to victory in 2012 at Medinah and is serving his fifth stint as vice captain at Bethpage.

    Edoardo Molinari

Molinari went 0-1-2 for Europe in his sole Ryder Cup appearance as a player in 2010 and will serve as vice captain to Donald for the second time.

    Francesco Molinari

Francesco will be back alongside his brother for a second stint as vice captain this year. Francesco’s 5-4-2 record in three Ryder Cup appearances is highlighted by his undefeated 5-0-0 performance in 2018 in Paris.

    Alex Noren

Noren was considered to be in the running for a captain’s pick, but is serving as vice captain for the first time instead. The Swede went 2-1-0 in 2018 in Paris, the only Cup he’s played in in his career thus far.

    European players

    Rory McIlroy

The World No. 2 played his first Ryder Cup at age 21 in 2010 and hasn’t missed one since. McIlroy is playing in his eighth career Ryder Cup at Bethpage and has been a part of five winning teams. He has posted 18 total points for Europe with a 16-13-4 overall record, making him Europe’s 8th all-time best in terms of points. (Sergio Garcia tops the list with 28.5 points.) McIlroy’s recent win at the Irish Open marked the 20th of his DP World Tour career.

    Robert MacIntyre

MacIntyre is ranked 9th in the world and has three career DP World Tour wins on his resume. This is his second Ryder Cup after going 2-0-1 in Rome.

    Tommy Fleetwood

The reigning FedEx Cup champion made headlines with multiple near-misses on the PGA Tour before finally breaking through in grand fashion at East Lake in August. Now ranked 6th in the world, Fleetwood is playing in his fourth straight Ryder Cup and holds a 7-3-2 career record.

    Justin Rose

Rose, at 45, is the oldest member of the European team. He’s playing his seventh career Ryder Cup and has a 14-9-3 overall record for Europe.

    Rasmus Hojgaard

After his twin brother Nicolai played for Europe in 2023, Rasmus is making his Ryder Cup debut. The 24-year-old has five DP World Tour wins since 2019.
