WWE NXT Highlights: On October 1, WWE NXT, after the Premium Live event No Mercy, took place at the Performance Center. On this episode of WWE NXT, we saw the aftermath of WWEâ€s No Mercy, as well as setting the stage for WWE Showdown with TNA, which will take place next week. WWE Showdown will be a special NXT episode, which will feature teams from TNA and NXT facing each other. WWE Showdown was previously named WWEâ€s Invasion, but it was later changed to WWE Showdown.
This episode of WWE NXT saw many great matches, including Myles Borne vs Josh Briggs, and we also saw multiple former WWE Superstars return to NXT, but not as WWE Superstars; they came out representing TNA. The main event of the show was an announcement from both TNA and NXT to reveal their members for WWE Showdown.

Ricky Saints defeated Oba Femi last week on WWEâ€s No Mercy, and on this week of WWE NXT, he came out and said he is now the face of NXT. Saints delivered an emotional promo, and he said that the only person you guys should believe is yourself, and you can do anything you want, and he was a prime example of that.

As Ricky Saints was delivering his promo, Jacy Jayne came out to the ring and said You can celebrate your title win any other time, because right now they have bigger problems to handle. Jacy Jayne said that the TNA locker room is trying to break NXT, and as she was delivering her promo, the NXT general manager, Ava, came out and made both Saints and Jayne the captains of the Menâ€s and Womenâ€s teams for NXT.
After that, we saw Santino Marella come out and he announced that the captains that will represent TNA will be Mike Santana and the new TNA Knockout Champion, Kelani Jordan. After that, it was announced that both captains had to choose their teammates by the end of the night.
WWE NXT Highlights: Jaida Parker vs Lash Legend
In this episode of WWE NXT, Jaida Parker faced Lash Legend in a brutal 15+ match. In this match, we saw both wrestlers use steel steps multiple times. At the end of the match, Parker defeated Legend via pinfall.
WWE NXT Highlights: Mustafa Ali Returns
While Ethan Page was delivering his promo about Wagner, Mustafa Ali returned to WWE NXT and stood face-to-face against Page. Ali challenged Ethan Page for the North American Championship, and it was confirmed that Ali and Page will face each other next week on WWE Showdown.
WWE NXT Highlights: Myles Borne vs Josh Briggs
In a backstage segment, while Ricky Saints was choosing his teammates for WWE Showdown, it was announced that Myles Borne and Josh Briggs would face each other in a one-on-one match. The match went on for 15+ minutes, and at the end of the match, we saw Matt Cardona distract Briggs, and with the help of the distraction, Borne defeated Briggs via pinfall.
WWE NXT Highlights: Jeâ€Von Evans and Leon Slater vs The Culling
In a tag team match, Jeâ€Von Evans and Leon Slater faced the culling. The match went for 20+ minutes and received “This is Awesome†chants from the NXT audience multiple times. At the end of the match, Slater delivered a 450 splash to Shawn Spears and secured the win for his team via pinfall.
WWE NXT Highlights: Team NXT and Team TNA Brawl
In the main event of this episode of WWE NXT, we saw Team NXT and Team TNA announce their teams for next weekâ€s TV special, WWEâ€s Showdown. Ricky Saints announced that his team includes Trick Williams, Jeâ€Von Evans, and Myles Borne. Mike Santana announced that his team will include Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Leon Slater.
After that, Jacy Jayne announced the Womenâ€s NXT team, and included Jaida Parker, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice. Kelani Jordan also announced TNAâ€s Womenâ€s Team that will face the NXT Womenâ€s team, and it included Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, and Mara Sade. After both NXT and TNAâ€s Menâ€s and Womenâ€s teams brawled out with each other, and with this brawl, this episode of WWE NXT went off the air.
