The Miz understands that some wrestling terms are a bit too inside for the average fan.
WWE Superstar The Miz was a recent guest on Vegas Revealed. While hyping up WWEâ€s return to Las Vegas next year for WrestleMania 42, Miz attempted to explain a few common inside wrestling terms so the average fan could understand them.
“Okay, one and two heel, babyface,†The Miz begins. “Do you know what that is? The good guy! Oh, he does everything right. Heâ€s the nicest guy. Heâ€s the person that youâ€ll hear everyone in these stands cheering for, going, we love you, we love you. And then whatâ€s a heel?â€
When the interviewer answered that a heel is nasty, mean, and doesnâ€t do things the nice way, The Miz confirmed her assessment.
“Very good. That is what a heel is,†The Miz said. “What would you consider me? [I feel like youâ€re definitely babyface.] Oh, you think? Well, when I come into this stadium, people are always booing me. Telling me that Iâ€m egotistical and arrogant, that I cheat to win. I like to think that I do whatever it takes to win.
“I donâ€t always go by the rules, but I make sure that Iâ€m victorious, because thatâ€s what people remember. People remember who wins. They donâ€t remember who loses. So those are your first two.â€
The Miz wrapped up his lesson by detailing what the term “being over†means in the simplest way possible.
“So we have heel and babyface,†The Miz continued. “And you know what weâ€re also gonna do? The last one I would say is being over. Do you know what that means? A reaction from the crowd, whether itâ€s booing or cheering. You get the loudest reaction.
“So when a person walks out and thereâ€s crickets and you donâ€t hear anything, thatâ€s not being over. Thatâ€s like, uh oh, we have a problem here. But if you walk out and that crowd erupts? Oh, this guyâ€s over, or this girlâ€s over. So whenever someone walks out and you hear a big reaction, you can look over and go, theyâ€re over.â€
