While WWE business has continued to run as smoothly in 2025 as it did in 2023 and 2024, there have been signs that fans haven’t been as into the promotion’s creative direction as they were the previous few years. While John Cena’s heel turn has been seen as the moment that crystalized certain fan unrest, this past weekend’s WWE Survivor Series: WarGames can also be seen as a candidate, with many feeling the event was lackluster, or even boring, compared to past events.

All that said, it’s difficult for some pundits, like WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, to fully get on board with the idea that WWE’s creative direction is lacking right now. At the start of Monday’s “Busted Open Radio,” Bully explained his reluctance to co-host Dave LaGreca by pointing to the big business WWE pulled in running Survivor Series at San Diego’s PetCo Park.

“Business is strong Dave, business is very strong within the WWE,” Bully said. “Numbers wise, asses in seats wise, dollars and cents wise. I can’t say that things are super strong in the creative department right now. There are some things that have me a little concerned. But they have enough equity in the bank to carry them through…You can’t…it’s very difficult to sit here and say, and this is about anything. Sports, music, pro wrestling.Â

“It’s very difficult to say ‘That’s sports team is no good,’ even though there’s a packed stadium. ‘That rock and roll band is not very good,’ even though it’s a sold out arena. ‘That pro wrestling company is lacking in…their creativity right now,’ even though there’s 46,000 people in the arena. I definitely think that the WWE right now is putting asses in seats because the WWE is in town, and were the hottest ticket out there right now.”

WWE’s hooded mystery man receives another inquiry from Kofi Kingston.

The closing moments of the 2025 Men’s WarGames match became the talk of the wrestling audience due to the hooded figure that helped Bron Breakker’s team of Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar gain the victory against CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Usos.

It’s unknown who the mystery star was that interfered at the main event of this year’s Survivor Series premium live event, but it was pointed out that it could be Seth Rollins, as he delivered a Curbstomp to the current World Heavyweight Champion, but he never revealed his identity and just left the ring.

Following the recently concluded premium live event, it seems like another star is interested in the identity behind the hood. On X (Twitter), Kofi Kingston greeted fans with a good morning but also expressed wonder about who is underneath the hood at WWE Survivor Series.

What a good morning to Thank God for the NewDay…I wonder the person in black was?” Kofi Kingston tweeted.

Interestingly, reports about the identity of the mystery man point to Austin Theory, who was also previously rumored to join The Vision before Seth Rollins was injured. With this in mind, Kofi’s comments might take an interesting turn if the rumors are true, given his current alliance with Grayson Waller, Austin’s previous tag team partner, who trashed him following their split.

Paul Heyman Comments On Apparent Connection To WWE’s Mystery Hooded Man

Following the premium live event, Paul Heyman was questioned during the Survivor Series post-show if he knew who the hooded person was and if it was Seth Rollins. The WWE Hall of Famer feigned ignorance and stated he had no idea or connection with the attacker, noting that he didn’t appreciate getting accused of.

How would I know? The man was wearing a hood? How would I know? How would I know? You ask as if this was a Machiavellian plan of Paul Heyman. You presume that Iâ€m guilty without giving me the benefit of the doubt that Iâ€m innocent.â€

It will be interesting to see what will transpire next with the mystery attacker following Survivor Series.

Earlier this week, AAA announced that it struck a broadcasting deal that will bring its content to FOX platforms in Mexico, Central America, and South America (excluding Brazil). According to journalist Dave Meltzer, executives hope this is just the start of AAA expanding its reach as a broadcasting deal in the United States is said to be a foremost goal.

“The purchase of AAA [by WWE] was not necessarily for the Mexico market, but to get it on in the United States market,” Meltzer said on “Wrestling Observer Radio.” “So the key is the negotiations in the US, because that’s where you can make money, hopefully both make money and be on a platform that people actually watch. Right now, it’s YouTube, which is a platform people watch, but it’s not really a big money making platform. So that would obviously be the major goal for AAA is to get it on US television or a major streaming service like Peacock or something.”

WWE acquired AAA, a leading Mexican lucha libre promotion, back in April 2025, with several crossover events and matches coming in the months following. Most recently, WWE aired AAA’s November 22 event, emanating from Mexico City, on the official WWE YouTube channel. This show included a successful AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship defense from WWE’s Chelsea Green and Ethan Page.

As of now, a deal to broadcast AAA content on USA television has yet to be inked, though Meltzer believes that will change in the near future. “I have been given the impression that they expect that there will be such a deal somewhere fairly soon in the US market,” he said, “but that would be the more significant deal than this deal that was just announced.”

Brie and Nikki Garcia visit the SiriusXM Studios on November 17, 2023

Rodin Eckenroth/Getty Images

When Nikki Bella returned to WWE on a semi-regular basis this past June, many fans questioned if her sister, Brie Bella, would follow suit and also re-join the company. After six months, Brie has yet to appear on WWE television despite her twin’s recent run, and during a new interview with “ESPN,” Nikki admitted that she’s felt more alone without being alongside her sister.Â

“It’s actually been quite lonely. I think we both have had our different runs where we’ve been solo, but I think coming into this now as a mom and I feel like I have a very much different mindset that I wish she was there,” she explained. “You start to think of moments that you want to make before it’s all over, and I have built not only this legacy with Brie, but this empire with her in and outside of the ring … I think we all know the force the Bella twins have together and so it’s been quite a journey without her, but I hope I can finish it with her.”

This upcoming Saturday, Bella will challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at Survivor Series, and with the event taking place in her hometown of San Diego, the two-time Divas Champion was asked if her sister will return and get involved in the match. “You know, I’m not sure. But I always have her on speed dial, so you never know.”Â

Survivor Series streams on the ESPN app in the U.S and on Netflix internationally tomorrow at 7 ET/ 4 PT.

Nikki Bella turns heel on

WWE

Two weeks ago on “WWE Raw,” Nikki Bella shockingly turned heel when she betrayed Stephanie Vaquer and set her sights on the Women’s World Championship. The following week, a title match between Bella and Vaquer was made official for Survivor Series this upcoming Saturday, but before locking up with the world champion, the WWE Hall Of Famer outlined the reasoning for blindsiding her former friend during an interview with “ESPN.”

“I am from a different era, and I have something to prove, and sometimes we have to prove that in different ways. Nice can get you so far, but sometimes you got to be bad to get what you really want. And so I feel like the only way I could get what I want is to go in that direction.”Â

Bella continued to explain what the WWE Universe can expect an emotionally charged matchup between herself and Vaquer, stating that fans will be intrigued regardless of who emerges victorious.

“A lot of intensity. I think what makes this match extremely special is you truly are seeing two women from two different eras with two different mentalities and there’s going to be a lot of emotion. So, I think no matter what the outcome is going to be this Saturday, it’s going to definitely leave you feeling very interested in what’s to come next.”

Survivor Series streams live this Saturday at 7 ET/ 4 PT on the ESPN app in the U.S, and on Netflix internationally.

Paul Heyman talking

WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman has been in the pro wrestling business for over four decades, but predicts that he has another 40 years remaining in his career.

When the question arises regarding the future of the WWE, the usual answers are the likes of Bron Breakker, Dominik Mysterio, or Rhea Ripley. But, Heyman had a unique answer to this question when speaking to “ESPN,” as he claimed that he is the future, stating that he has only now truly understood the business.

“[Are you asking me] So, who do we keep our eye on for the future? Paul Heyman. I’m just getting started. I’m just figuring this stuff out. It took me this long to really I mean I kind of knew it. I was kind of faking it before I made it. Then I started to really get into it. I’m just really figuring this out now. I got another 40 years ahead of me. Wait till you see what I do next.

Heyman has been involved in the pro wrestling industry for most of his career, barring his six-year spell away from WWE between 2006 and 2012. His first involvement in wrestling came as a teen photographer and later as a producer and an on-screen manager Jim Crockett Promotions, before leading ECW, and later to WWE after ECW was acquired by Vince McMahon. Heyman, who turned 60 earlier this year, recently joked that his kids may have to take care of him if he retires, as he is planning to spend all the money he has earned so far.

Rhea Ripley photo backstage

WWE

Last Friday on “WWE SmackDown,” AJ Lee became the fifth member of Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss’ team for WarGames at Survivor Series, and after brawling with their opposing competitors on “WWE Raw,” “Mami” shared her reasoning for recruiting the three-time Divas Champion.

Speaking on “Raw Recap” this past Monday, Ripley explained that Lee was the ideal partner for their team due to her never-say-die attitude, which she feels is required to emerge victorious in a match like WarGames.

“Growing up, I watched AJ Lee. I loved watching AJ Lee. She was one of my favorites for sure. I thought she was amazing at what she did, especially for the size that she is. She’s scrappy, she doesn’t give up, and I like that fire inside of her that I know she has … I needed someone that can hang in this kind of match. And everything that I’ve seen her accomplish throughout her run in the WWE before when I was growing up, she accomplished so much. And she really wasn’t set up to accomplish that much, but she fought and she scratched and she clawed and she was determined and she got to the point that she got to, and that’s what I wanna see.”

Ripley continued to explain that was impressed with Lee’s performance alongside her husband CM Punk against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins and Wrestlepalooza, and feels that the 38-year-old’s greatest strength is being second guessed and underestimated by her competitors. Survivor Series streams live this upcoming Saturday, November 29 at 7 ET/4 PT on the ESPN app, and on Netflix internationally.

Saraya believes these NXT stars are the future of the WWE womenâ€s division.

During a recent interview with Poker Scout, the former Paige was asked if there is anyone in NXT she views as the future of WWEâ€s womenâ€s division.

“I really enjoy watching Sol Ruca, so sheâ€s one of them,†Saraya said. “And Tatum Paxley is really special too. I think maybe Iâ€m biased to my gothic girls, but I do genuinely think that sheâ€s incredible and her wrestling is great. Her mic work is great and sheâ€s doing really wonderful things, so I think sheâ€s going to be a big star soon. I have to throw Blake Monroe in there too.â€

Saraya reveals when sheâ€ll resume in-ring training

After falling out of love with pro wrestling, Saraya is ready to re-enter the business with a renewed passion. Speaking on the Toronto Sunâ€s No Holds Barred, the former AEW Womenâ€s World Champion explained why she took a break from active competition.

“Iâ€ve had a wonderful year to dip my toe into the outside of the wrestling world, and itâ€s been so wonderful, and I have loved it, and I have enjoyed it. But once youâ€re a wrestler, you always miss it. I am starting to get the bug for it again, because I went for a stage where I fell out of love with it for a second, and Iâ€m just like, I need to take a break from it, and that was the whole goal.â€

Sharing her timeline for returning to in-ring training, Saraya revealed that she was recently invited by WWE Superstar Natalya to train at Dungeon 2.0.

“Iâ€ve just found this new love for it again,†Saraya continued, “and Iâ€ve found this new passion for it again, and Iâ€m going to get into training in January, and weâ€ll see where that takes me. Because I feel like if I was to ever come back, not saying I am, but if I was to ever come back, I want to be at the top of my game and be wrestling better than I was wrestling back when I was in NXT.

Last year, it was revealed that WWE star Becky Lynch was cast in the Star Trek spin-off “Starfleet Academy,” and on Tuesday afternoon, fans were given their first look at “The Man” in her newest acting role.Â

In an exclusive article published by Collider, a photo of Lynch dressed as a Starfleet officer was unveiled, where she will be in Operations Gold as part of the bridge crew in the show. Following the reveal, Lynch took to social media to share her reaction to the first look.

“Everyone’s FAVORITE wrestler turned actor will be starring in one of the most ICONIC franchises in TV history. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy premieres in January on Paramount+. You can get a sneak peek of just how AMAZING I look here. Small correction Collider, I’m not one of WWE’s biggest stars, I’M THE BIGGEST!”

Earlier this year, Lynch admitted during an interview that she wasn’t the biggest fan of Star Trek growing up and often didn’t keep up with the television series, but was always drawn to the movies throughout the years.

“I grew up when Star Trek was one of the two shows that was on TV in Ireland, on whatever four channels we had, so it was always on in the background. I can’t say that I sat down and watched, but I did love the movies. And Colm Meaney. We all love Colm Meaney, any time he was on, you sit down and watch that.”

Alongside Lynch, the first season of “Starfleet Academy” also stars Holly Hunter, Mary Wiseman, Tig Notaro, Oded Fehr and Robert Picardo. Other new faces that will be making their Star Trek debut include Stephen Colbert, Paul Giamatti and Tatiana Malany. Lynch has also been no stranger to getting involved in several projects outside of professional wrestling, having been featured in Happy Gilmore 2 and playing Cyndi Lauper in the popular sitcom, Young Rock.

Bobby Fish in the ring

AEW/YouTube

Bobby Fish has had the opportunity to wrestle for both AEW’s Tony Khan and WWE’s Triple H, and he has detailed the major differences in their style of managing a wrestler.

Fish wrestled for “The Game” when the WWE Hall of Famer headed NXT, and later had a little under a year-long run with AEW under Khan. The former NXT Tag Team Champion, who has previously praised Triple H for the way he handled The Undisputed Era in NXT, discussed the major differences between the managerial styles of the WWE and AEW heads in a recent interview with “TMZ Sports.”

“I think Hunter’s a bit more of a presence, a physical presence, and to get an audience with Hunter is not always possible, but inevitable. So, as a performer, you kind of know, like, ‘Okay, well, sh*t, it might not be today, but I’ll get him before the end of the week. You understand that no, it’s just that he’s busy and Tony’s busy, too. So, I can’t say that doesn’t hold up as well. But I never doubted that if I needed Hunter’s ear for something that I wouldn’t eventually get there. And with Tony, it didn’t happen. I can only go based on that ’cause like I’m not here in any way to sh*t talk Tony either.”

The former AEW star revealed that it was tough to have a meeting with Khan as he is a “quiet and reserved” person, even though he understood how busy Khan is due to the numerous things he has to handle. Fish, who was released by WWE in 2021, also expressed interest in potentially making a return to the promotion, stating that facing AJ Styles is a dream match he would love to have. Since his WWE exit, he has wrestled in the indies, as well as MLW.Â
