Florida State wide receiver Squirrel White was reportedly unharmed after University of Virginia students stormed the field Friday night to celebrate UVA’s 46-38 upset win over FSU.

According to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports, White made it into the locker room with the rest of the team after the game, and he is “OK.”

With Florida State trailing by eight in overtime, Seminoles quarterback Tommy Castellanos hoisted a pass into the end zone on fourth-and-12, hoping White could make a miraculous play.

Instead, Cavaliers defensive back Ja’son Prevard came down with the interception, ending the game and sending hundreds of UVA fans running onto the field at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia.

White, who was on the ground at the conclusion of the play, quickly disappeared amid the sea of fans. While there was concern that he could have potentially gotten trampled, the senior wideout reportedly emerged unscathed.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Jake Knapp is grieving the death of his girlfriend of two years, Makena White, describing her as selfless toward others and filled with energy.

A friend of White posted on her Instagram page that she died earlier this week. The update did not mention how she died, and Knapp chose not to share details.

“It’s an understatement to say how hard all of this is to process for everyone who knew Mak, especially her family and friends, who deserve privacy and respect during this difficult time,” Knapp said in comments his manager sent to The Associated Press.

Knapp, an easygoing Californian who played at UCLA, won in his rookie season on the PGA Tour last year at the Mexico Open. He shot 59 earlier this year at the Cognizant Classic. White posted a picture of them from that tournament, noting last month it was their second year together of “watching you live out your dreams.”

“Makena was such a thoughtful person whose selflessness toward others is something I will always appreciate,” Knapp said. “We shared so many unforgettable memories together and now that she’s no longer with us, it’s a tough reality to comprehend.

“She had an incredible family, great friends, and her fun, outgoing energy will be missed by all of us.”

NEW YORK — White Sox pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez will miss the rest of the season because of a right elbow impingement and Chicago outfielder Mike Tauchman will be out because of a right knee meniscus tear that requires surgery.

Gonzalez was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday and Tauchman on the 10-day IL. Both moves were retroactive to Sunday.

White Sox manager Will Venable said Gonzalez was feeling pain.

“I think there’s not a lot of long-term concern,” Venable said. “I think he could pitch. Just want to protect him a little bit.”

Outfielder Derek Hill was claimed off waivers from Miami and right-hander Jonathan Cannon was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. Hill was due to arrive in New York later Wednesday.

A 23-year-old right-hander, Gonzalez made his major league debut on June 20 and went 1-0 with a 2.66 ERA in 16 relief appearances, striking out 25 and walking 12 in 20â…“ innings.

Tauchman, 34, hit .263 with nine homers and 40 RBIs in 93 games this season. He told White Sox beat writers he will have surgery Tuesday.

“He really set the tone for going out there and grinding through a lot of physical ailments, and his body just eventually just gave up on him there,” Venable said.

Former UFC champion Ronda Rousey walked away from MMA nearly a decade ago, but it sounds like she’s rediscovering her passion for the sport.

Rousey posted a video on Instagram showcasing her progress since returning to MMA training after giving birth to her daughter in January, and she wrote in the caption that she’s fallen back in love with the grind.

“From 8 weeks after having a baby and 8 years of stepping away from MMA to 8 months postpartum and finding my love for it again,” Rousey wrote in the caption.

The 38-year-old admitted that she was self-conscious about her diminished skills since stepping away from MMA following her loss to Amanda Nunes in 2016 and experiencing her current postpartum issues. However, she said her joy for the sport has returned over the past few months.

“The first clip is my first session working with @aj_mma I was super self conscious, embarrassed of how much I regressed, and honestly trying my very best not to pee my pants throwing punches so soon after having baby PÄ’Å«,” Rousey stated. “Second clip was yesterday, I’ve never laughed or smiled so much on the mat as I do these days. The last 6 months have been an absolute blast, feels like I have so much left to grow, and without the weight of the world on my shoulders nothing is holding me back.”

Rousey’s revelation comes amid the UFC’s announced plans for an event at the White House in 2026. The company recently released the first renderings to show what the event would look like.

Rousey even caught the attention of former rival Cris Cyborg, who expressed interest in finally settling their differences in a fight:

It remains to be seen if Rousey’s return to training will lead to an official fight, but the UFC undoubtedly would move mountains to get her back into the Octagon if she’s interested. The White House card would be the biggest spectacle for her potential return.
