In his last pro start, Rory McIlroy competed at the DP World Tour’s Irish Open a couple weeks before the Ryder Cup. Well, he didn’t just compete. He won, capturing his fourth win of the season in dramatic style.
Now McIlroy is back at it on the DP World Tour, but at a brand-new tournament: the DP World India Championship.
McIlroy isn’t the only PGA Tour star in the field. Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Ben Griffin and Viktor Hovland are also teeing it up in India this week.

The second round of the 2025 Baycurrent Classic begins Thursday night in Japan. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament on Thursday, including full Baycurrent Classic TV coverage, streaming info and Round 2 tee times.
How to watch the Baycurrent Classic on Thursday
Collin Morikawa has not lived up to his own high expectations this year on the PGA Tour. The six-time winner failed to enter the winner’s circle in 2025. He did earn two runner-up finishes, but they both came early in the season.
He was still good enough to finish 19th in the FedEx Cup standings by the end of the Tour Championship, which also earned him a spot on the losing American Ryder Cup team.
Now Morikawa is hoping to use this week in Japan to jumpstart his game for next season.
Collin Morikawa sets up birdie on No. 17 with good approach at Baycurrent
In the first round of the 2025 Baycurrent, Collin Morikawa’s tee shot on the 445-yard, par-4 17th hole travels 305 yards into the fairway bunker, leaving 143 yards to the hole, his 136-yard approach from the fairway bunker lands on the green, leaving a 22-foot 7-inch putt, and he sinks the 22-foot 7-inch putt for birdie.
In the opening round at Yokohama Country Club, Morikawa could only manage an even-par 71 that left him T25. If he wants to contend this week, he’s got plenty of work cut out for him in the second round, which starts Thursday night for U.S. viewers.
You can watch the second round of the Baycurrent Classic on TV via Golf Channel, which will air coverage beginning Thursday night at 11 p.m. ET. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App will provide a live simulcast of Golf Channel’s Thursday coverage.

A few weeks ago, Nicolai Hojgaard had to play spectator as he watched the European Ryder cup team win at Bethpage Black. Having played on the team in 2023, he was replaced with his brother Rasmus for the 2025 edition.
But Hojgaard is doing a lot more than watching this week. At the PGA Tour’s Baycurrent Classic, Hojgaard fired an opening-round three-under 68 to get near the top of the leaderboard.
Heading into the second round, Hojgaard finds himself just one shot back of the three co-leaders as he hunts for his first Tour victory.

The 2025 Sanderson Farms Championship gets underway Thursday morning with the opening round at the Country Club of Jackson. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament on Thursday, including full Sanderson Farms Championship TV coverage, streaming info and Round 1 tee times.
How to watch the Sanderson Farms Championship on Thursday
Just two years ago, Max Homa automatically qualified for the 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup team. But Homa didn’t even sniff the 2025 team and was forced to watch the Americans lose the Ryder Cup from home.
The last two years have been ones Homa would like to forget. In 2024, Homa earned only three top-10 finishes but still ended up 46th in the FedEx Cup standings.
But he took another step back in 2025, reducing his top 10s to one, doubling his missed cuts to eight and finishing 111th in the FedEx Cup standings.
If Homa is going to improve his position and if he has any hope of making the 2027 Ryder Cup team, he needs to start turning things around soon. Thursday’s opening round in Mississippi is as good a time as any.
You can watch the first round of the Sanderson Farms Championship on TV via Golf Channel, which will air coverage beginning at 4.p.m. ET on Thursday. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App will provide a live simulcast of Golf Channel’s Thursday coverage.

While no 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup players are in the field at the Sanderson Farms Championship this week, the same cannot be said of the victorious European team.
Rasmus Hojgaard, who played for Europe last week at Bethpage Black, is teeing it up this week in Mississippi, hoping to improve his FedEx Cup standing and eligibilty for the 2025 PGA Tour season, as are many of his competitors
That includes Rasmus’ twin brother Nicolai Hojgaard, who played on the 2023 Ryder Cup team.

There is a recent U.S. Ryder Cup player in the field, too: Max Homa. Homa has six wins on the PGA Tour and played for the 2023 American team in Rome. His game has been inconsistent since, so he’s hoping this week jumpstarts a campaign that sees him rejoin the U.S. team for the 2027 Ryder Cup.

The Red Wings play their second preseason game Thursday when taking on a division rival in the Buffalo Sabres.
The Detroit Red Wings restart their preseason on Thursday with a divisional showdown against the Buffalo Sabres. Before last preseason, these two haven’t faced off in exhibition action since the 2021-22 season. With little history between them, the Red Wings have a 1-1-1 record over their last three exhibition matchups versus Buffalo.
Fans could see some big names take to the ice for the first time this season like in Detroit’s preseason opener on Tuesday when they faced off against the Chicago. The Blackhawks played some of their highest end talent like star center Connor Bedard and 2024 second overall pick Artyom Levshunov.
Detroit is coming off a gutsy win in their preseason opener as they downed the Blackhawks 3-2 thanks to an impressive performance from former seventh round pick Emmitt Finnie, who scored and dished for an assist in a multi-point performance. Other notable names in the win were his linemates in other top prospects for Detroit with Nate Danielson, who also scored, and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, who recorded a pair of assists.
Bookmark The Hockey News Detroit Red Wings team site to stay connected to the latest news, game-day coverage, and player features.
With Detroit playing mostly their prospects in the opener, except for J.T. Compher, Jonatan Berggren and Travis Hamonic, we can expect a more veteran lineup deployed for Thursday’s matchup as Red Wings bench boss Todd McLellan would like to make sure all their routine starters have enough time to get their legs underneath them before the start of the season. Nothing has been said just yet about who’s playing in Thursday’s game but we can expect some notable players that fans won’t want to miss.
“It’s Time”: Dylan Larkin Lays Out Clear Goal For Red Wings
The city of Detroit hasn’t hosted a Stanley Cup Playoff game since April 2016 against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Joe Louis Arena, who at that time were overseen by general manager Steve Yzerman.
Last Sunday, the Red Wings played in their signature split squad game called the Red and White Game in Grand Rapids and led to some impressive performances. Finnie was again a standout after scoring while playing on the top line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond. Detroit winger Elmer Söderblom also made his case for the top-line left wing spot, turning heads after scoring twice and impressing during training camp scrimmages while playing on the top unit. The battle for the top-line left wing spot remains one of the key storylines to watch, with no clear frontrunner emerging.
Another position battle heading into the season could be with naming a No. 1 starting goaltender despite the team trading for a former all-star netminder in John Gibson. The former Ducks goaltender appeared in 29 games (28 starts) and posted a lesser record than Talbot at 11‑11‑2 while playing for a weaker team in the Ducks but posted a better goals against average (GAA) at 2.77 and a better save percentage at .912 compared to Talbot’s GAA at 2.93 and his .901 save percentage. Both haven’t seen the ice yet in the preseason as former first round pick Sebastian Cossa took the crease for the opener and will make the decision in net for the Sabres matchup an interesting one.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The weather at Bethpage Black on Thursday is still forecast to bring plenty of rain but the front that threatened to washout the day’s play has shifted to the north and given both teams at the Ryder Cup a chance to complete their preparation for Friday’s opening matches.
Rain chances decreased throughout the day with a 60% chance of passing showers, and the lightning probability has dropped to around 20%. The U.S. and European teams were scheduled to play nine-hole practice rounds around 10 a.m. EDT.
Light showers overnight are forecast to increase as the teams prepare for their final practice round before Friday’s opening foursomes session with precipitation totals possibly reaching 2 inches before Friday.
Concerns about the storms prompted PGA of America officials to move the opening ceremony from Thursday to Wednesday afternoon. The captains for both teams are scheduled to announce the Day 1 foursomes pairings at 4 p.m. EDT (live on Golf Channel).
The good news for officials and players is that the storm is forecast to clear the area by 5 a.m. Friday with a much better outlook for Saturday and Sunday. The first tee time for Day 1 of the matches is scheduled at 7:10 a.m.
