WWE’s Tama Tonga breaks his silence after seemingly paying tribute to AEW’s Will Ospreay on SmackDown.

As many may know, before Tama Tonga signed with WWE in 2024, he wrestled in New Japan Pro Wrestling from 2010 to 2024, where he was a member of the Bullet Club and was a 7-time IWGP Tag Team Champion. During his time in Japan, he also wrestled Will Ospreay several times. Interestingly, many think he has recently paid tribute to his former rival.

On the October 24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Tama Tonga and JC Mateo successfully teamed up against Rey Fenix and Shinsuke Nakamura. However, one of the talking points of the recent tag team clash was the manner in which MFT won, as Tama seemingly used Will Ospreay’s Hidden Blade, but was dubbed as a running elbow and Cut Throat by commentary.

Following the SmackDown episode, Tama Tonga posted his somewhat-signature “Shhh” catchphrase on X (Twitter). However, it’s unknown if the WWE star was simply stating his taunt to Fenix and Nakamura, or if it’s in any way related to Will Ospreay.

Shhhhhhhhh” the SmackDown star tweeted.

Will Ospreay is currently out with an injury after suffering a herniated disc in his C2 and C6 spine. His latest match took place in this year’s Forbidden Door, where he successfully teamed up with Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi against the Death Riders, The Young Bucks, and Gabe Kidd in a Lights Out Steel Cage match.

Several WWE Stars Reached Out To Will Ospreay After Announcing His Injury

Although there is tension between AEW and WWE as rival wrestling promotions, along with their fans, it has been proven that the talents in both companies don’t always harbor the same feelings.

In an interview with Metro, Will Ospreay revealed that several superstars reached out to him after learning about his injury, with some he doesn’t even know personally. The Aerial Assassin shared that some offered to refer him to a doctor, while others were willing to answer any questions he may have.

A WWE superstar recently reacted to CM Punk’s hilarious post wishing another star on her birthday. His message only contained a single word, which told the whole story quite succinctly.

The Second City Saint took to Instagram to wish Lyra Valkyria on her birthday, which was on 23rd October. Punk has often talked about how he was a fan of the rising star, and he mentioned it again in the caption. The post included one of his own rather crude drawings of Valkyria, which was obviously the intent. Lyra also took the joke in jest, stating that she had never looked better.

@wwe Heard it was your birthday, @real_valkyria so I drew you…I hope you like it! I will always be a @real_valkyria fan!!! 💪ðŸ½ðŸ‘🼔

You can check out the post here:

Dexter Lumis also commented on CM Punk’s post

As expected, Dexter Lumis was not one to be left behind when it came to getting into the joke.

The Wyatt Sicks member also commented on CM Punk’s post, claiming that it was an amazing iteration of Lyra Valkyria. Dexter is also quite talented in creating his own art pieces, which made his comment sound sarcastic and funny.

Dexter is currently one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions alongside Joe Gacy. The duo took on the Street Profits on the July 11 episode of SmackDown, in what turned out to be an intense match. After a lot of back and forth, the Wyatt Sicks members were able to pick up the win. They later defended their titles on Night 2 of SummerSlam, where they successfully retained after battling the Street Profits, DIY, Fraxiom, the Motor City Machine Guns, and Andrade & Rey Fénix in a TLC match.

As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Lumis in WWE and whether he will come face-to-face with CM Punk in the ring someday.

David Wheeler, former Wycombe Wanderers midfielder and one of football’s most vocal environmental advocates, sees climate change increasingly affecting the game, saying it is “becoming a lot more obvious to players and more of a topic of conversation”.

Wheeler, who is the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Sustainability Champion, believes the sport has a responsibility to do more.

“Unfortunately I don’t think the major governing bodies and organisations are really taking that responsibility seriously at the moment,” he says.

“These organisations don’t deserve to profit from sport if they’re not going to use their power for the betterment of sport.”

Wheeler also wants footballers to use their platform more to speak out on environmental issues.

“It could have a huge impact,” he said. “But it’s also important that clubs and fans’ groups also insulate the players because there’s going to be that inevitable backlash that they’re a hypocrite.

“The majority of us are hypocrites to some degree. We’re not perfect and that’s OK, just as long as we’re trying to do as much as we can.”

One player who does not shy away from using his platform to champion environmental issues is Real Betis defender Hector Bellerin.

Speaking after he was named Global Champion at the recent BBC Green Sport Awards, he said it was not easy to promote sustainability in a sport increasingly defined by global expansion.

“It’s hard,” he said, referencing the 2026 World Cup. “I don’t make the decisions and I’m very aware of how the industry works. But I’m not going to stop doing what I love because of decisions made at the top.

“We players often feel like we’re treated like numbers or marketable goods. There’s more games, more travel, more difficult conditions. And we’re just told to hydrate,” the former Arsenal player added.

“Unless footballers around the world unite – whether that means stopping or taking bold decisions – the wheel’s just going to keep turning,” he said.

TORONTO — George Springer put his club ahead with a three-run homer in the seventh inning and the Toronto Blue Jays advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series on Monday night.

It was the first go-ahead homer in Game 7 history when a team trailed by multiple runs in the seventh inning or later. And the Blue Jays’ bullpen took over from there, registering the final six outs, including the last three from closer Jeff Hoffman.

“Just pound the zone, and don’t get to [Cal] Raleigh. That was honestly my goal,” Hoffman said on Fox after the game. “Get strike one, put them away, do it quickly, and let the guys behind me work.”

The Blue Jays will host Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 on Friday night when the World Series comes to Canada for the third time. The defending champion Dodgers swept Milwaukee in the NLCS.

“The at-bats before me. If it’s not for those guys, that at-bat doesn’t happen,” Springer said on Fox, referring to his two teammates who were on base in time for his homer. “I’m just so happy for our team, out fans, our city, our country. I’m so happy right now.”

Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez each hit a solo home run for the Mariners in the team’s first Game 7, but Seattle failed to reach its first World Series, leaving the heartbroken Mariners as the only major league team without a pennant. Raleigh, who led the majors with 60 homers in the regular season, made it 3-1 with a leadoff homer against Louis Varland in the fifth inning.

Karrion Kross has reverted to his previous moniker, Killer Kross, after his WWE exit this summer.

Kross has been taking independent bookings lately, with his frame of mind evidently being to play the field. He has openly admitted his interest in making a WWE return. However, the former NXT Champion also did not shy away from discussing the lack of interest higher-ups had in his growing fanbase and the connection with fans he was able to cultivate in 2025.

On X/Twitter, a clip of Killer Kross throwing a female star literally through the ceiling has gone viral. It was during a fight produced by XICW Detroit (Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling).

In the clip, Kross was hit on the back by the female star with a steel chair. He no-sold the move, before knocking down the chair with his head, and lifting the woman in the air with her head going through the ceiling.

Killer Kross’ wife, Scarlett Bordeaux, also reacted to the clip and stayed in character to note that their antagonists deserved what was coming to them.

If you watch the entire match, itâ€s pretty clear she and her whole crew deserved to be launched through that ceiling,” Bordeaux wrote.

The Harbinger of Doom had revealed after parting ways with WWE that he was offered a contract before his exit, but it was not satisfactory. In the end, he left the door open for a future return.

Killer Kross And Scarlett Bordeaux Clearly Articulate Their Frame Of Mind Regarding WWE Return And A Potential AEW Debut

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight recently, Killer Kross noted how “bizarre” his whole conversation was with regard to going back.

Scarlett Bordeaux claimed that if the power couple were to make an AEW debut, they were going to fly its flag. She also stated that whichever wrestling promotion they ultimately join, it would be their “home.”

I mean, Iâ€ll speak for myself. You could answer this separately, if you like. I donâ€t know. I donâ€t know what that door looks like, or whatâ€s even on the other side of it. Iâ€m still completely perturbed by the conversation that we had, it was so bizarre and strange and shocking,” Karrion Kross said.

Scarlett Bordeaux added, “If we ever go to AEW, weâ€re going to be flying the AEW flag. That is going to be our home forever. Whatever our next company is, thatâ€s it.”

Heading into the summer of 2025, Karrion Kross had a noteworthy feud with Sami Zayn, which ended up getting booked on WWE’s premium live events twice. Following their SummerSlam encounter, Kross was released out of nowhere.

Ilja Dragunov is officially back—and heâ€s got gold around his waist to prove it.

WWE released new backstage footage on October 19, 2025, showing Dragunov after what appears to be his United States Championship win. The former NXT Champion returned to television on the October 17 episode of SmackDown from the SAP Center in San Jose, where he stepped up to accept Sami Zaynâ€s open challenge. The crowd gave him a huge welcome after nearly a year off WWE TV.

In the new video, Dragunov opened up about the emotional weight of the past year and the message heâ€s sending to the entire roster now that heâ€s champion.

“Itâ€s been such a long year, and nobody understands how I feel sitting on the sidelines for a year, waiting and hoping and training to come back better. Better than anybody else. More ruthless, more ambitious. Fearless. More courage. All these things and everything that I accomplished over this year, this, itâ€s a symbol of it, me as the United States Champion,†Dragunov said while clutching the title.

He didnâ€t hold back when addressing future challengers either.

“So one thing is so clear to me right now. I get a very, very clear message to everyone who is coming for this. My dear friends and my dear enemies, if you step with me into the ring, pain shall entertain it.â€

Dragunovâ€s return wasnâ€t always meant to go down this way. According to previous reports, his WWE comeback was originally targeted for September and slated for the RAW brand. But plans changed, and insiders said SmackDown needed a “shakeup,†prompting WWE to move Dragunov to Friday nights instead.

Before his time away, Dragunov had close calls in major matchups, including a four-way number one contenderâ€s bout against Jey Uso and a World Heavyweight Title live event clash with Gunther. Now on SmackDown with the U.S. Title, heâ€s been handed a clean slate—and he clearly has no plans to waste it.

Ilja Dragunov made it clear he returned with more than just a comeback in mind—he came back to dominate.

Do you think Dragunovâ€s run as United States Champion will elevate SmackDownâ€s mid-card scene? Drop your thoughts in the comments below and let us know what you think.

Seth Rollins finally did what he couldnâ€t do in three previous tries — he beat Cody Rhodes one-on-one, and he didnâ€t hold back after the win.

Rollins closed out WWE Crown Jewel 2025 in the main event at Perthâ€s RAC Arena, defeating “The American Nightmare†to become this yearâ€s Menâ€s WWE Crown Jewel Champion. With their rivalry dating back years and Rhodes holding a 3-0 singles record over him, the pressure was on Rollins to prove he could finally get the job done.

And he did — by any means necessary. In a cold twist, Rollins used a watch that Cody had given him after WrestleMania 40 to smash Rhodes in the face. That weapon shot helped The Visionary finally pin his biggest rival and cement his leadership of The Vision faction, which includes Paul Heyman, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker.

Speaking directly to WWE cameras right after the match, Rollins didnâ€t bother holding back.

“Thereâ€s nothing else to say. I told you so. I told everybody.â€
“What I do with The Vision is for them, not for me. Iâ€m the king around here. I proved that s**t tonight.â€

It wasnâ€t just Rollins making moves for The Vision either. Earlier in the night, Bronson Reed pulled off a rare feat by pinning Roman Reigns in their Australian Street Fight — a victory few in WWE history can claim.

With Rollins now holding the win heâ€s chased for years and The Vision stronger than ever, the balance of power in WWE may have just shifted in a big way.

Was Seth Rollins justified in how he beat Cody Rhodes? Or did the use of the gifted watch cross a line? Let us know where you stand in the comments.

The NFL sent a concussion protocol memo to all 32 teams on Saturday after New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart’s evaluation on Thursday night, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

“The Concussion Protocol explicitly requires that ‘only medical personnel deemed essential to the care of the athlete may be present for the tent and/or locker room evaluation. This includes the team physician best qualified to evaluate concussion, the Club AT, and the sideline UNC,'” the memo read, via Florio. “No other individuals are permitted in the tent or locker room during an evaluation. This includes coaches, front office personnel and/or other players. Clubs are responsible for ensuring compliance with this requirement.”

After Dart was taken into the medical tent on the Giants’ sideline during their 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, head coach Brian Daboll approached the tent and looked inside.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday that the NFL and NFL Players Association would review the application of the league’s concussion protocol as it relates to Dart.
