The next edition of Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event is going to be a big one, and has just gotten even bigger with the inclusion of a huge match for WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
During Fridayâ€s episode of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre attempted to show up amidst his ongoing suspension. He pulled up into the backstage area of the show and was promptly met by Adam Pearce, Nick Aldis, and several WWE officials. As they argued, McIntyre was eventually forced back into his car, where Cody Rhodes had snuck in to wait.
Tomorrow night just got a whole lot bigger!

Rhodes attacked McIntyre and was eventually pulled from the car. McIntyre then drove off, leaving an irate Rhodes there. Later in the show, Rhodes would find himself a match for Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event in an unlikely way.
While backstage, Rhodes spoke with NXTâ€s Ricky Saints and Oba Femi. He then said that whoever won the NXT Championship at their match at tomorrowâ€s Deadline event would get to face him next weekend.
Alongside Rhodes†match, Bayley and Sol Ruca will also take part in singles action. The matches coincide with John Cenaâ€s wish to promote younger stars at the show, which will also be his last. Bayley and Sol Rucaâ€s match was also set backstage, with the two stars talking about facing off.
WWE Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event is set to take place on December 13, 2025. The show will be at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., and will feature John Cenaâ€s final match with WWE.

Featured tee time for Round 3
This year’s edition of the Hero World Challenge is looking more and more like a shootout, with 11 players within three shots of the lead at the tournament’s halfway point. The current lead is shared by five players at 10 under par: Hideki Matsuyama, J.J. Spaun, Wyndham Clark, Cameron Young and Akshay Bhatia. Young fired the round of the tournament thus far, posting an eight-under 64 that included seven birdies and an eagle, and a score of 30 on the back nine.
“I just barely missed on 11,” Young said after his round. “Hit it close on 12. Left one hanging on the front lip on 13. Yeah, then was fortunate to chip in on the par 5 and make a putt there on 16 and 17. It kind of just is one of those little stretches where I had some tap-ins and then made a couple, too. Just ended up being a big string of good holes.”
A win this week would mark the second on Young’s year, after his maiden PGA Tour victory at the Wyndham Championship in August.
Young will tee off for the third round on Friday at 11:00 a.m. ET alongside Matsuyama.

Amid the noise of on-ice struggles and rumors of roster changes involving the Nashville Predators, a battle of a completely different nature is taking place every day, all over the world: the fight against cancer.
Each season, the NHL and its teams hosts a Hockey Fights Cancer night – typically in November – to raise awareness and funds for their local cancer community.
Now in its 27th season, Hockey Fights Cancer unites the global hockey community through storytelling and meaningful events to fundraise for cancer research, to educate and empower more fans to learn about cancer risk factors and to take action to get screened for certain cancers.
The Nashville Predators Foundation will host its first of two Hockey Fights Cancer nights this season on Saturday, when the Preds take on the Colorado Avalancheat Bridgestone Arena at 7 Pm CT.
The Foundation is looking to build off the support seen during its Hockey Fights Cancer efforts last season, which raised $229,365.25 for the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund.

“We are excited to host our first Hockey Fights Cancer Night of the 2025-26 season,†Nashville Predators Vice President of Community Relations Rebecca King said in a news release. “These nights are incredibly impactful for our organization as we use our platform to support cancer patients and their families. We are asking SMASHVILLE to join us in the fight against cancer through bidding in our silent auction or donating directly to the 365 Fund. Every dollar we raise goes straight to pediatric cancer research at Vanderbilt.”
The Predators organization has had cancer affect members of its family over the past several years. Last July, Erin Daunic, wife of current Preds play-by-play television voice Willy Daunic, passed away at 54 from the illness. Lexi Rogers, the daughter of the teamâ€s equipment manager Pete Rogers, was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Sheila Crisp, wife of former broadcaster Terry Crisp, was also diagnosed several years earlier. Equipment manager Craig “Partner†Baugh is a prostate cancer survivor.
Since its inception during the 2013-14 season, the 365 Fund, created by former Predators legends Pekka Rinne and Shea Weber, has raised over $4 million in donations and in-kind contributions to advance pediatric cancer research efforts at Monroe Carell Jr. Childrenâ€s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Saturday nightâ€s game will feature six patient ambassadors from Monroe Carell who will take part in various in-game activities including: High-fiving the team as they take the ice for warm-ups; meeting with the gameâ€s referees pre-game as part of the NHL Officials Associationâ€s Zebras Care initiative; joining the team on-ice for the starting lineup and national anthem; participating in a ceremonial puck drop; riding the Zambonis; and welcoming the team back to the ice for the second period as the Mayor of SMASHVILLE.

During practice this past Wednesday, Preds goalie Juuse Saros wore a custom maskhonoring the four in the Preds family affected by cancer. Saros will wear the mask on Saturday.
“A lot of people are involved, unfortunately, with cancer within the last couple years,†Saros said Wednesday. “I thought I would honor all those people by fighting against it.â€
Fans can bid on the mask in the Preds Foundationâ€s Hockey Fights Cancer auction by texting PREDS to 76278. The auction will close at the start of the third period of Saturday’s game. Vaughn Hockey donated the mask, and David Gunnarsson of DaveArt donated the paint job.

To help make a bigger difference, the Preds Foundation is calling on SMASHVILLE to support Hockey Fights Cancer, the 365 Fund and the imperative cancer research taking place at Monroe Carell. There are a number of ways fans can get involved: wearing lavender to Saturdayâ€s game; bid on silent auction items; and donateto the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund.
The goal is to raise $36,500 through these donations.
“We are so very grateful for the long-standing support of the Nashville Predators and the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund that spans well over a decade and that truly has made a difference in the lives of children and their families,” Meg Rush, MD, MMHC, President of Monroe Carell Jr. Childrenâ€s Hospital at Vanderbilt, said in a statement. “Each season, we look forward to the Hockey Fights Cancer games that highlight our partnership with the Nashville Predators, raise support for childhood cancer efforts and also celebrate our pediatric cancer patients. I absolutely love to see the joy and hope that the Nashville Predators and Hockey Fights Cancer bring to our patients and families during these events.”
Hockey Fights Cancer is a joint initiative of the NHL and NHL Players†Association and powered by the V Foundation for Cancer Research presented by AstraZeneca.

The Predators†second Hockey Fights Cancer Night will take place on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, during their game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

This is it: the final weekend of play for the 2025 PGA Tour season. For some players, like 36-hole leader Andrew Novak, this week of play is pre-Thanksgiving gravy. After firing rounds of 61-65, Novak is 16 under and leading the field by one shot. Novak has already secured his top-50 status for 2026, so from a job security standpoint, this weekend will be pressure-free.
For others in the field, though, next year’s playing status isn’t quite so clear-cut. There are currently 10 players who are T13 or better heading into the weekend and who are also currently outside of the top 100 on the FedEx Cup points list. A win — or even a high finish — will go a long way for them when it comes to their playing opportunities next year.
Novak will will tee off for Round 3 on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. ET alongside Michael Thorbjornsen and Patrick Rodgers, both of whom are 15 under.
You can watch Saturday’s third round of the 2025 RSM Classic from 1-4 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. You can also stream a live simulcast of Golf Channel’s Saturday coverage via NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App.

John Cena isnâ€t letting WWE turn his final match into a nostalgia special—because he doesnâ€t want the spotlight on himself. Instead, he wants the entire night to be about WWEâ€s future.
On the RAW Recap Show, Cena explained that he pushed back hard on the idea that Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event should be built entirely around honoring him. He said he loves the “Time Is Now†tournament because it shifts attention toward whatâ€s coming next, not whatâ€s ending.
Before he even got into the tribute topic, Cena made it clear that he never wanted his farewell to follow the usual wrestling formula.
“Iâ€m so glad about the tournament and Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event, and getting everyone to focus on the future of this business,†Cena said. “The tradition has always been, ‘Oh, your last match—you go out on your back and do the honors.†No. I think we can do more. We can take the fans who show up for our show and expose them to the future, and thatâ€s whatâ€s next. I love the Time Is Now tournament to earn the chance to be my final opponent.â€
Cena then revealed that Triple H originally pitched a full-blown John Cena tribute for the event—but Cena immediately shut it down. He called Triple H directly to explain why the idea wouldnâ€t work for anyone.
“I really want to take my hat off to Triple H. I called him up and said, ‘Iâ€ve got an idea. Weâ€ve got to do two hours for the show, and if you do a whole John Cena tribute, two things are going to happen: youâ€ll either do too much or too little, and you wonâ€t please everybody.†So I rejected that idea.â€
Instead of two hours of Cena montages and speeches, he pitched a completely different direction—showcasing the future of WWE against the best of the main roster.
“Instead, I said Iâ€d like to propose that we have big-name WWE Superstars in exhibition matches against the brightest talents in NXT. That way, we have a sold-out building, hopefully the world is watching Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event, I get to wrestle one final time, and everyone else gets a look at what they can look forward to. Yes, itâ€s my last match—but collectively, weâ€re all closing a chapter in sports entertainment.â€
Cenaâ€s refusal to make the night about himself is exactly why his legacy hits so hard. He wants his final night to push WWE forward, not look backward—and heâ€s using his retirement match to make sure the next generation gets the stage they deserve.
Do you agree with John Cena turning down a full tribute show? Who should benefit the most from his final event? Drop your thoughts and let us know how youâ€d book the night.

On a busy night in the NHL, injuries took their toll across the league.
A number of players left their games with various ailments on the 13-game Saturday.
Here is a roundup of some of the injuries that came down during the night’s action.
Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno left his team’s win over the Toronto Maple Leafs after blocking a shot with his hand late in the second period.
He did not return, and Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill told reporters that the 38-year-old forward will miss four weeks with the hand injury.
Over in Seattle, Kraken netminder Matt Murray was pulled with 18 seconds remaining in the first period. He was ruled out by the team with a lower-body injury after appearing to tweak something as he slid over to make a save with Seattle on the penalty kill.
Philipp Grubauer took over in net for the Kraken and stopped all 19 shots he faced in a 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.
Charlie McAvoy and Viktor Arvidsson both exited the Boston Bruins’ win over the Montreal Canadiens.
McAvoy was hit in the face by a slapshot, and Arvidsson suffered a lower-body injury and will miss “some time,” according to Bruins head coach Marco Sturm. McAvoy was ultimately able to travel back to Boston with the team.
Arvidsson registered the game-winning goal for Boston on a power play in the second period.
Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters, “It doesn’t look good” for Kesselring, who played just one shift in the final 10 minutes of the second period and didn’t return for the third period or overtime.
Finally, the Calgary Flames lost 21-year-old forward Sam Honzek to an upper-body injury. Honzek went down after a collision with teammate Mikael Backlund and immediately went to the locker room.
When the Los Angeles Kings traded 24-year-old Jordan Spence to Ottawa four and a half months ago, he had just finished a season where he was an everyday player (79 games) on a blue line put together by GM Rob Blake. Blake is a Hall of Fame defenseman who knows a thing or two about great defense. The Kings allowed the second-fewest goals in the entire NHL, which should be a real feather in any young defenseman’s cap.
But things can change quickly in the NHL.
The Kings lost in round one of the playoffs, and Blake left at the end of the season. Since winning their second Cup in three years in 2014, the Kings have either missed the playoffs or failed to get past the first round every season. So Blake was replaced by Ken Holland.
Despite the Kings’ defensive success, Holland decided the blue line was too young and opted to go out and sign a free-agent veteran. That later turned out to be former Senator Cody Ceci, but to make room for the signing, that meant someone had to go. And that player was Spence.
Holland called Spence up on NHL draft day to break the news that he’d been traded, and the Kings recorded portions of Holland’s side of the conversation for their website.
Jordan? Yeah, it’s Ken Holland. How are you doing? I know that opportunity is number one to you, and with Brandt Clarke here, we’re gonna try to sign another right-shot D. I don’t think you would have the opportunity here that you’ve earned at this stage of your career. So this (trade to Ottawa) should give you a better opportunity than you’re gonna get here. I want to wish you the best. You had a hell of a year last year. Again, I wanna wish you all the best and have a great career.
– Portions of a phone call by Los Angeles Kings GM Ken Holland to Jordan Spence right after trading him to Ottawa on NHL Draft Day back in June.

On Saturday night, Spence will face his former team for the first time, and it’s a day he had marked on his calendar.
“Yeah, I did actually,” Spence said. “Right when I got traded (to Ottawa), I did look at the schedule during the summer to see when we’re going to play against them. So I’m really excited for tonight. And I’m excited to hopefully get the win.”
With the two clubs both off last night, Spence treated a number of his former teammates to dinner in Ottawa. But while he still has great friends in that room, it will be all business on Saturday. And a little weird.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s really different. I got drafted there, and I was there for four or five years. So it is weird seeing the guys and just catching up. But at the same time, it’s business. And we’re friends off the ice, but not on the ice.”
While the trade to the Senators was framed to him as a chance for Spence to play regularly, it certainly hasn’t panned out that way, at least not in the first month. Spence didn’t dress on opening night, and he’s already been a healthy scratch more this season than he was all of last season. He’s only played in half of the Senators’ 18 games so far.
Even when he has played, Sens head coach Travis Green and defensive coach Nolan Baumgartner still appear unsure about him. When the Senators lost Thomas Chabot to injury on Tuesday night, they were going to need another defenseman, other than Jake Sanderson, to play in overtime against the Dallas Stars. While Spence has his flaws, his game seems tailor-made for overtime.
But the Sens went with big, stay-at-home defenseman Tyler Kleven, who doesn’t have nearly the speed, puck skill or point production that Spence does. Kleven is also younger with less NHL experience. And yet Baumgartner still chose Kleven, who was on the ice for the Stars’ winning goal.
Now, until Chabot returns, Ottawa’s brain trust has no choice but to use Spence every night, and he hopes to make the most of the opportunity. And when the Senators and Kings face each other on Saturday night, Spence has a chance to try and prove some things to both clubs.
