Seth Rollins†injury just threw a massive wrench into WWEâ€s plans, and now CM Punk is left without a confirmed opponent for Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event. But WWE isnâ€t wasting time scrambling to fill the gap—because a major battle royal is going down tonight on RAW to decide who steps up against Punk.
According to Bodyslam.net, the October 20 episode of WWE RAW will now feature a battle royal in response to Rollins†shoulder injury, which has sidelined the World Heavyweight Champion and called off the originally planned title defense against CM Punk.
With Rollins already written off TV, Adam Pearce is expected to address his status in RAWâ€s final segment live from Sacramentoâ€s Golden 1 Center. Sources say that segment will revolve around “the fate of the World Heavyweight Championship,†which could indicate that CM Punk vs. the winner of the Battle Royal could receive the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The rest of the RAW card remains stacked. Becky Lynch defends her Womenâ€s Intercontinental Title against Maxxine Dupri. Dominik Mysterio puts the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Rusev. The WWE Tag Team Titles will be up for grabs in a clash between Finn Balor & JD McDonagh and AJ Styles & Dragon Lee. Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman are also scheduled to speak on their vicious assault of Rollins.
The October 20 episode of RAW airs live on Netflix at 8 PM ET, and the battle royal now has the spotlight. With CM Punk waiting on the other end, the stakes couldnâ€t be higher.
Confirmed WWE RAW Lineup for October 20, 2025:
- Adam Pearce Will Address Seth Rollins†Status
- Womenâ€s Intercontinental Title: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Maxxine Dupri
- Intercontinental Title: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Rusev
- WWE Tag Team Titles: Finn Balor & JD McDonagh (c) vs. AJ Styles & Dragon Lee
- Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman Address Their Actions
The October 20 RAW will air live on Netflix starting at 8 PM ET, and the final segment could set the course for Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event and beyond. Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of this weekâ€s show over in our WWE Monday Night RAW coverage hub.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy reportedly could be back on the field for the team’s Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that the high ankle sprain was initially seen as a six-week setback when he suffered it in Week 2.
“That means it’s unlikely he’ll be back next week against the Chargers. They’re hopeful he’ll be back a week after at Detroit.”
The Vikings selected McCarthy, a former Michigan star who led the Wolverines to an undefeated, national championship-winning 2023 season, with the 10th overall pick in the 2024 draft.
Unfortunately, McCarthy suffered a torn meniscus in the 2024 preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders, and he missed the entire campaign.
McCarthy returned for 2025 and played his team’s first two games, completing 24-of-41 passes for 301 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 50 yards and another score.
Unfortunately, McCarthy suffered a right high ankle sprain in Week 2, when Minnesota fell 22-6 at home to the Atlanta Falcons. Per ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, McCarthy completed the game but “reported significant soreness the next morning.”
Carson Wentz has been the team’s starter in McCarthy’s place. Over three starts, Wentz has completed 69 percent of his passes for 759 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions.
He will remain in the role for Sunday’s game against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Max Brosmer has been the team’s backup with McCarthy out. Brosmer is an undrafted rookie who played college ball at New Hampshire before transferring to Minnesota for the 2024 season. He was a First-team FCS All-American for New Hampshire in 2023.
AEW WrestleDream 2025 went down in St. Louis with plenty of chaos and surprises, but fans were left asking why Bryan Danielson wasnâ€t at the commentary desk.
During the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan finally revealed the real reason behind Danielsonâ€s absence. Khan admitted it came down to both storyline decisions and real-life commitments. He explained that with Jon Moxleyâ€s brutal plans for the main event against Darby Allin, it would have been nearly impossible for Bryan to stay calm behind the desk.
“No, heâ€ll be back. There were a couple of things. I think it made sense given what was happening with the main event. It would have been hard for Bryan to hold himself back knowing what Jon Moxley had planned. I think it wouldâ€ve been tough for him to sit at the desk while Darby Allin was in that situation.â€
On top of that, Bryan had a family commitment the same night. Khan encouraged him to step away from the show entirely rather than risk breaking character or walking out mid-match.
“Since he had a family commitment, I told him, ‘Hey, if you have a family thing tonight, itâ€s best to go for that commitment because I donâ€t want to put you in a position where you might risk your job if you get up from your desk.†It worked out well because Bryan was able to spend time with his family as planned, and he didnâ€t have to be in that no-win situation at the commentary desk.â€
Khan stressed that Danielson will be back, and the decision allowed him to avoid being caught in a storyline trap while also putting family first. With the Death Riders still circling Danielson in AEW, itâ€s clear his presence at the desk—or in the ring—is far from finished.
Do you think Tony Khan made the right call letting Bryan Danielson skip WrestleDream commentary, or should he have been part of the broadcast no matter what? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Jacob Fatu has officially been taken off WWE television, and now the real reason for his absence has been revealed. The Samoan Werewolf is facing a long recovery after undergoing major dental and health-related procedures that will keep him sidelined well into 2026.
During the October 17th edition of SmackDown, Fatu was written off programming, sparking speculation about his condition. After the show, fans began asking questions online—and Cory Hays of BodySlam confirmed the situation.
When one fan asked if Fatu was simply getting new teeth, Hays responded directly, “Yes.†He then went further, making it clear this wasnâ€t just a minor procedure, “Heâ€s getting his entire mouth worked on.â€
Another fan pushed for clarity, wondering if this meant something cosmetic like veneers or if it was health-related. Hays replied with a short but telling answer, “Health wise.â€
That makes it clear Fatuâ€s situation is more serious than cosmetic enhancement. With reports already suggesting heâ€ll be out until late 2026, WWE is bracing for a long stretch without one of its most explosive talents.
Do you think Jacob Fatu will return stronger after this setback, or will such a long absence hurt his momentum in WWE? Share your thoughts in the comments.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has revealed the names of three cricketers who were killed in a tragic attack in eastern Paktika province, near the Pakistan border. (AFP Photo) NEW DELHI: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has revealed the names of three cricketers who were killed in a tragic attack in eastern Paktika province, near the Pakistan border. The players, identified as Kabeer, Sibghatullah, and Haroon, had travelled from Urgun to Sharana, the provincial capital, to take part in a friendly cricket match. After returning home, they were targeted during a gathering in what the ACB described as “a cowardly attack carried out by the Pakistani regime.”Alongside the three cricketers, five other people were also killed, and seven others were injured in the incident. The ACB described the attack as “a great loss for Afghanistanâ€s sports community, its athletes, and the cricketing family,†extending its “deepest condolences and solidarity to the bereaved families” and the people of Paktika province. In response to this heartbreaking incident, the ACB announced that Afghanistan would withdraw from the upcoming Tri-Nation T20I Series involving Pakistan and Sri Lanka, scheduled for late November, “as a gesture of respect to the victims.” “The Afghanistan Cricket Board expresses its deepest sorrow and grief over the tragic martyrdom of the brave cricketers from Urgun District in Paktika Province, who were targeted this evening in a cowardly attack carried out by the Pakistani regime,” ACB wrote. “In this heartbreaking incident, three players (Kabeer, Sibghatullah and Haroon) alongside 5 other fellow countrymen from Urgun District were martyred, and seven others were injured. The players had earlier traveled to Sharana, the capital of Paktika province, to participate in a friendly cricket match. After returning home to Urgun, they were targeted during a gathering.
“The ACB considers this a great loss for Afghanistanâ€s sports community, its athletes, and the cricketing family. The ACB also extends its deepest condolences and solidarity to the bereaved families of the martyrs and to the people of Paktika Province. “In response of this tragic incident and as a gesture of respect to the victims, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to withdraw from participating in the upcoming Tri-Nation T20I Series involving Pakistan, scheduled to be played in late November. “May Allah (SWT) grant the martyrs the highest ranks in Jannah, bless the injured with a speedy recovery, and grant their families patience, reward, and strength during this time of immense grief,” the board said.Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan expressed his sorrow on social media, stating: “I am deeply saddened by the loss of civilian lives in the recent Pakistani aerial strikes on Afghanistan. A tragedy that claimed the lives of women, children, and aspiring young cricketers who dreamed of representing their nation on the world stage. It is absolutely immoral and barbaric to target civilian infrastructure. These unjust and unlawful actions represent a grave violation of human rights and must not go unnoticed.”Rashid added, “In light of the precious innocent souls lost, I welcome the ACBâ€s decision of withdrawing from upcoming fixtures against Pakistan. I stand with our people at this difficult time, our national dignity must come before all else.”Other Afghan internationals also voiced their grief. What happened on WWE NXT this week?
This weekâ€s show kicked off with a promo from NXT Champion Ricky Saints. He challenged Trick Williams to a match at Halloween Havoc. Williams appeared on the tron and said things would happen on his time.
AAA Latin American Champion Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Lexis King.
Elsewhere on the show, Josh Briggs defeated Matt Cardona in his first match in a WWE ring in five years.
In the main event of the evening, Tatum Paxley won a 20-woman battle royal to become the number one contender for Jacy Jayneâ€s NXT Womenâ€s Championship at Halloween Havoc.
Hereâ€s an overall review of Tuesdayâ€s episode of NXT courtesy of our live coverage page…
WWE NXT Review:
Tonightâ€s show moved at a glacial pace, with most of the matches and angles falling flat. Coming off the NXT Showdown event, you would think there would have been more meaningful action or, at the very least, hotly contested matches. Itâ€s unclear which direction NXT will be heading as a brand, but they will need to put a bit more effort into keeping their fans engaged if they want to keep their fans in the arena and at home, tuning in.

Rashee Rice will be back on the field for the Kansas City Chiefs as they take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
Rice, who had been serving a six-game suspension, is expected to get a “heavy workload” upon return, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano. The wide receiver reportedly is in “peak physical shape” and will be “full bore” against the Raiders, according to Fowler and Graziano.
Even without Rice, the Chiefs’ offense has started to hit its stride after a slow start. They’ve averaged 31.6 points per game over their last three contests, relying heavily on the wide receiver duo of Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy, who returned from injury two weeks ago after missing a pair of games.
Now Kansas City can add another receiver to the mix, but head coach Andy Reid said he’s not yet sure how he’ll divide the snaps between the three.
“There’s one ball, and somebody isn’t going to get every snap,” Reid said, per ESPN’s Nate Taylor. “They got to check that ego and I appreciate that. When they do get opportunities, I appreciate the way they’ve handled that, too. They’re all good players. Hollywood did have a really good game [in the win over the Detroit Lions]. The last two weeks, he’s made some catches that are really incredible.”
Rice had a strong rookie season in 2023, recording 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. The Chiefs hoped he’d continue his momentum in 2024, but he played just four games before suffering a season-ending injury.
In July, Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years’ probation for his role in a multi-car crash during the 2024 offseason. In August, the NFL announced Rice would serve a six-game suspension to start the 2025 campaign.
While he was not with the team during his suspension, he conducted individual workouts with sessions focused on his route running, strength and conditioning and his quickness, according to Taylor.
The start of Rice’s NFL career has been rough, but he’ll look to come back strong from his suspension and make an immediate impact for the Chiefs.
Kansas City started the year 1-2 but has managed to turn things around in recent weeks. The Chiefs are coming off a 30-17 win over the Detroit Lions.
Rice’s return comes ahead of a crucial stretch for Kansas City. Over the next four games, the Chiefs will have a pair of divisional matchups as well as meetings with the Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills.

In the main event of tonightâ€s episode of WWE NXT, a 20-woman over-the-top-rope battle royal featuring women from both NXT and TNA Wrestling took place to determine the number one contender for Jayneâ€s NXT Womenâ€s Championship at Halloween Havoc.
The 20 participants in tonightâ€s match were as follows:
- Jordynne Grace
- Lash Legend
- TNA Wrestlingâ€s Lei Ying Lee
- TNA Wrestlingâ€s Xia Brookside
- TNA Wrestlingâ€s Victoria Crawford
- Jaida Parker
- TNA Wrestling†Mara Sade
- TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan
- Tatum Paxley
- Lola Vice

- Wren Sinclair
- TNA Wrestlingâ€s Cassie Lee
- TNA Wrestlingâ€s Jessie McKay
- Izzi Dame
- TNA Wrestlingâ€s Heather by Elegance
- Kendal Grey
- Thea Hail
- Karmen Petrovic
The final four participants came down to Jordynne Grace, Tatum Paxley, Kendal Grey, and Izzi Dame. Paxley and Dame teamed up to try and eliminate Grace and Grey.
Dame would eventually eliminate Grey. She would then set her sights on Grace, who was tangled up with Paxley on the other side of the ring. Izzi would charge in and clothesline Grace over the top rope, but her momentum took her over, too, leaving Paxley as the winner and new number one contender.
Lyra Valkyria hit the ring to celebrate with Paxley as Fatal Influence watched from the entrance stage at NXT went off the air.
WrestleZone will have live coverage of NXT Halloween Havoc later this month.

Seth Rollins†injury has thrown WWEâ€s creative plans into chaos, but now we know just how big those plans really were.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Rollins was penciled in for one of the biggest matches WWE could book — a WrestleMania showdown against Roman Reigns. While discussing Rollins†health and the shocking turn by Bron Breakker on RAW, Meltzer revealed that the Visionâ€s leader was supposed to collide with Reigns on the grandest stage of them all.
“Seth Rollins was tentatively scheduled to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.â€
Meltzer explained that the long-term vision of Rollins†faction was never about him, but about launching Bron Breakker into superstardom.
“Because the whole thing with this faction was not about Seth Rollins. It was about Bron Breakker — and about making Bron Breakker into the next Roman Reigns. Now, how they were going to do that, I wasnâ€t told. I was just thinking thatâ€s how it would end up — that at the end, you know, Bron does that [turns on Seth]. But I doubt it was going to be this early.â€
Bryan Alvarez noted that WWE had already been planting seeds for the eventual split but at a much slower pace.
“Especially because of the way they did the pay-per-view. It was like they planted the seeds for this to happen in the future. Like they said, ‘What happens if Cody wins?†And Paul says, ‘Well, we know whatâ€s going to happen.†But then Seth won, right? It was like, okay, well, they bought some more time. But we all know itâ€s going to happen in the end.â€
Meltzer emphasized that WWE wanted the breakup to pay off down the road, with Rollins vs Reigns being a central piece of that puzzle.
“Yeah. That was my impression — that it was going to happen at the end. For the last two weeks, it was like, okay, theyâ€re planting seeds for a long time down the road. But now, under the circumstances, if heâ€s hurt — maybe they didnâ€t know how badly hurt he was — but if he is, they had to change everything.â€
The injury has now forced WWE to pivot, pulling the trigger on Bron Breakkerâ€s betrayal of Rollins much earlier than expected and leaving WrestleManiaâ€s plans wide open. What could have been a blockbuster Rollins vs Reigns main event may no longer be possible.
Do you think WWE should still try to book Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns for WrestleMania if Rollins heals in time, or has that ship already sailed? Share your thoughts in the comments.

WWE had a huge role to play during TNA Bound for Glory’s controversial finish.
On October 12th, TNA Wrestling held one of its biggest shows ever in Bound for Glory 2025. While The Hardy Boyz retained their dual titles and Mike Santana won the World Championship, the X-Division Championship match between Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans ended in a no-contest after The Dark State interfered.
Initially, the match finished in a time-limit draw, following which TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella announced that the match would instead continue until a finish occurred. However, soon, NXT’s Dark State interfered and caused a no-contest finish. The controversial finish was called out by both fans and critics, and the creative decision to not provide a clear winner in one of the most hyped matches of the night was heavily criticized.
Soon enough, sources close to Sports Illustrated (The Takedown on SI) noted that WWE had a significant say in the match’s creative and booking direction. WWE and TNA are currently working together on booking decisions and the use of talent as part of their working partnership.
Sports Illustrated was further notified that even before the positive reaction for the Bound for Glory match arrived, Evans and Slater were already planned to have another singles match soon. Currently, Halloween Havoc is being discussed as the potential next stage for them to collide.
Former WWE Star Believes TNA Can Overtake AEW To Become The Official Number Two
Last month, in an interview with Lucha Libre Online, Santino Marella openedup about TNA’s recent growth and how the promotion could soon overtake AEW.
Yeah, itâ€s incredible. People from TNA in the past are happy for us, and the current locker room is ecstatic about the growth. When I came here, it was not like this. Sometimes we were in Nashville or even in Toronto with 350 to 500 people, but we believed in ourselves.
Now we have the audience size that feels right, and we deliver every time. Every time weâ€ve had a sold-out crowd, weâ€ve never had a bad show. Weâ€ve never wasted an opportunity, and Lowell, Massachusetts, Bound for Glory is going to be another one. Weâ€re going to capitalize on that audience. Weâ€re going to send the message out to the wrestling world: weâ€re here, weâ€re knocking on the door, and you better look out. Once we get that TV deal, weâ€re number two.
I know Tony Khan has lots of money, I get it. But the fans speak. The fans dictate whoâ€s number one, number two, or number three. not your bank account. Of course, WWE is number one. Theyâ€re so far ahead weâ€ll never catch them in my lifetime.
But number two is attainable. Number two is really something we can do, and if we accomplish that, itâ€s humongous.â€
