BOSTON — Four days after the 2025 trade deadline, the Florida Panthers played in Boston. Brad Marchand was injured and unavailable, so he didnâ€t dress.

“Iâ€m pretty happy I wasnâ€t playing that game,†he said Monday.

Itâ€s a weird thing to say, but history proves itâ€s a good thing he couldnâ€t.

Like so many of us in the immediate aftermath of a painful breakup, the exes werenâ€t ready to see each other so soon. It would have been a night of anger, of bitterness, nasty overtones instead of a salute to a great Bruin.

Tuesday, Marchandâ€s Beantown reunion will have a much better atmosphere. Boston fans wonâ€t be thrilled to see him in Panthers†colours, but they know he landed on his feet, a Stanley Cup champion, again. Another “old guy†rejuvenated in the Florida sun.

“Iâ€m sure itâ€s going to be tough for some people,†he said, with that trademark Marchand smile and smirk. “They wonâ€t be able to cheer because they donâ€t like the Panthers very much. Maybe theyâ€ll like me enough to give a little ‘Yay†or something.

“I think there will be a little bit of love there if I do something good. If I do something bad, theyâ€ll probably boo me pretty quick.â€

Brad Marchand will play his first game in Boston as a member of the Florida Panthers Tuesday night. Fans in Canada can watch the game on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. PT.

    Broadcast schedule

We all know: when the welcome video plays and the applause starts, itâ€s going to be a rousing ovation. This is the unofficial start of the Bruins and their fans celebrating the cornerstone pieces of a decade-long Eastern Conference standard-bearer — winning the Stanley Cup in 2011, going to two more Finals, finishing with a record regular-season in 2022-23.

When the run began, Marchand was still finding his way in a mature, businesslike dressing room. Emotional, talented and unique, he carved out his space, joining Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron as the heart and soul of those teams.

Charaâ€s No. 33 is being retired in January. Bergeronâ€s day will definitely come too.

The three of them went for dinner Sunday night with Tuukka Rask and Adam McQuaid. Who paid?

“They bullied me. I did.â€

Asked to name the best thing about Boston, Marchand didnâ€t hesitate: “The fans.â€

“The city is incredible… the fans make it awesome. Some of the stories, things that Iâ€ve seen fans do, a lot of them arenâ€t PG-rated. Same coffee shop every day, message on your cup if I had a good game, or (if I had a ) bad game the night before, ah, tough one for you.

“They bleed black-and-gold.â€

Two of his biggest boosters, parents Kevin and Lynn, wonâ€t be there in person, instead watching at home in Nova Scotia. Asked when she recognized the cityâ€s attachment to her son, Lynn Marchand recalled the 2011 Stanley Cup parade. The season before, Brad had one point in 20 games. He broke through as the Bruins ended a 50-year championship drought.

“Walking with him. Seeing how many people wanted to talk to him, take a picture with him,†she said.

“They were wonderful years, we were all made to feel like it was home. We have so much gratitude to the organization, all the opportunities they gave him. The fans, supporting him. There were times in his career he had some not-great moments, but the people of Boston always gave Brad another chance. We are very grateful to the owners down to the fans, 16 of the most wonderful years.

“This will be a tough one to watch, a tough one for him. It will get to his heart.â€

Who will be more emotional, Brad or his parents?

“Kevin cries at the drop of a hat,†Lynn Marchand chuckles. “We all laugh and look over at him, ‘Is he crying yet?†Iâ€ll smile more, wiping my eyes.â€

The return I remember for the pure emotion was Mats Sundinâ€s in Toronto. Uncertain if Maple Leaf fans would cheer him, he fought back tears during his deserved, prolonged ovation. Watching the linesman back away from the faceoff circle to encourage more applause — even as Sundin asked him to drop the puck — was one of those moments you donâ€t forget. It was a revelation for the stoic Swede.

Marchand joked about the comparison, saying he doesnâ€t take faceoffs so he wonâ€t have to worry about that. But anyone whoâ€s watched him knows he could be just as overwhelmed.

“I thought about it for the first time (Sunday) night… started to get a little emotional. It hits you when youâ€re here a little bit more. I hadnâ€t thought about it a ton up to this point. Thatâ€s probably why, because I will get emotional about it. Itâ€ll be hard not to. Thereâ€s too many memories.â€

A former WWE Diva has stated that she “gets the itch†to return to WWE all the time.

During a recent interview with talkSPORT Boxing, Summer Rae, who worked for WWE mainly between 2011 and 2017, talked about her time with WWE and how it has helped her in her current role as an interviewer in Bare Knuckle Boxing.

“My role with the company, I do backstage interviews, in-ring interviews. I do a lot of social media for them and it works out coming with my WWE background and background in combat sports. My fans love it and itâ€s been fun getting to know the game.â€

Speaking about her WWE journey, Summer Rae stated that sheâ€s still friends with many superstars and that WWE will always be a part of her. Rae also mentioned that she “gets the itch†to return to the company all the time.

“Iâ€m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. Iâ€m such a big fan, and itâ€s just a part of me, it always will be. And you know, I get the itch to go back all the time.â€

When asked about who she enjoyed working with in WWE, Summer Rae mentioned names like Natalya, Mercedes Mone, and Naomi among others.

“Loved working with Natalya. Of course, we had a big rivalry with Total Divas and though she is Bret Hartâ€s niece, she says to this day, people talk about me and the slap heard around the world. So, thatâ€s fun. Iâ€m still friends with Sasha, Mercedes, sheâ€s been killing it. Naomi, of course. You know, the list goes on. I love The Big Show. The Big Show is just amazing. Most WWE Superstars who retire still get the itch to get back in the ring and knock some teeth and Danielle Moinet is no different.

Danielle Moinet, best known by her ring name Summer Rae, was signed to WWE for six years. During this time, her most noteworthy run was as the valet of Fandango, who is now signed to TNA under the ring name Johnny Dango Curtis. After WrestleMania 29, the two paired up, and Fandango continued his rivalry with Chris Jericho. They were an on-screen couple for a whole year, between 2013 and 2014.

Danielle Moinet (FKA Summer Rae) Still Gets The Itch To Make Her WWE Return After The Royal Rumble 2022

In an interview with talkSPORT Boxing, Danielle Moinet reflected on her time in WWE. She said it was her dream growing up, to be part of the sports entertainment capital, which she got to do, and that it was satisfactory. However, Moinet admitted that she still gets the itch to go back.

Oh my gosh! So, I was with WWE for six years, which is a good, solid run. And I’ve been gone for a little bit, went back three years ago for the Royal Rumble – they did not have an all-women’s Royal Rumble when I was growing up – it was my dream. It was everything I wanted to do.

Moinet said that while work was around 300 days a year with no breaks, she still did not feel like it was work. She also emphasized her love for WWE.

We were on the road, gosh, a good 300 days a year. It’s completely non-stop, but it’s what you wanted to do; it doesn’t feel like work. I’m still friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. I’m such a fan, it’s just a part of me. It always will be. And I get the itch to go back all the time,” Danielle Moinet said.

Check out her comments in the video below:

Danielle Moinet entered the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble in what was a blast from the past moment that WWE tends to do at these events. Her in-ring time was brief, though, as Moinet entered the 30-woman battle royal at #23, and was eliminated shortly thereafter by Natalya.

In an interview some time back, the 41-year-old had disclosed that an in-ring return will not happen. However, she added that there still lies an interest in the sport, and so, Danielle would like to raise young talents by sharing what she learned on the road with WWE.

Jürgen Klopp has said a return to manage Liverpool one day is “theoretically possible” but insisted he does not miss coaching.

Klopp left Liverpool after nine successful years in 2024, declaring he was “running out of energy.” He has since joined Red Bull as head of global soccer.

While he has said he does not intend to return to management, the German claimed a return to Liverpool is not impossible.

“I said I will never coach a different team in England. So that means if [Klopp returns] it’s Liverpool,” Klopp told the Diary of a CEO podcast.

“So yeah, theoretically it’s possible. “I love what I do right now, I don’t miss coaching. I don’t. I mean I do coach, just different, not players. And I don’t miss it. I don’t miss standing in the rain two-and-a-half, three hours. I don’t miss going to press conference three times a week, having 10-12 interviews a week. I don’t miss that.

“I don’t miss being in the dressing room in the sense that I don’t have it often enough, I coached 1,080 something games. So, I was in the dressing room very, very often.

“I’m 58, that’s from your perspective, old from the other side, it’s not that old. That means I could make the decision in a few years. I don’t know. [If] I had to make the decision today, I won’t coach again but thank God I don’t have to do that. I can just see what the future brings.”

Klopp also revealed he often had interactions with his replacement Arne Slot, who won the Premier League title last season in his first campaign.

He said Slot was smart not to make a lot of changes initially, and it’s not surprising there are some teething issues after a busy transfer window this summer.

“We had a lot of contact after that; he’s a super good guy. He got the best out of this team, and they became champions in an incredible manner,” Klopp said.

“It’s not about Arne wants to show the world what he can do, it’s about how to get the best out of this team and that’s exactly what he did.

“Now the new guys are there and they are really good players, it’s not working out at the minute. Development needs time, nobody can change that, people need time to adapt to certain things. It’s all good.”

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is expected to miss this week’s game against the Buffalo Bills after suffering a high-ankle sprain during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, according to Tom Pelissero fo NFL Network.

Young left the game late in the third quarter after appearing to get stepped on while he was being sacked. Andy Dalton replaced him at quarterback.

Young was 15-of-25 for 138 yards and a touchdown before exiting the contest, taking one sack. He also rushed for 10 yards.

It’s been an up-and-down season for Young, who had three interceptions in the team’s first two games (both losses) but has a 7-to-2 touchdown-to-interception since.

In turn, the Panthers have turned an 0-2 start into a 4-3 record after Sunday’s 13-6 win. The Panthers won all of five games last season.

The story of the 2024 season was Young’s rough start and subsequent benching, though he was reinstated as the starter after Andy Dalton was injured in a car accident. Young was much better after returning, leading the team to a 4-6 record down the stretch after a 1-7 start.

Whether the 2023 No. 1 overall pick has proven he’s truly a franchise quarterback—or worth the price of two first-round picks and wideout DJ Moore that the Panthers dealt to move up to that selection—remains to be seen. But by the end of last year and into this season, he at least was trending in a better direction after a rough start to his career.

With Young reportedly expected to miss the game against the Bills, Dalton would return to starting duties. He was 4-of-7 for 60 yards in relief duty on Sunday.

Danielle Moinet (formerly known as Summer Rae) says she gets the itch to return to WWE all the time.

During a recent interview with Talk Sport, Moinet talked about how her background with WWE helps in her new role as an interviewer and working on the social media team for Bare Knuckle Boxing.

Moinet responded:

“My role with the company, I do backstage interviews, in-ring interviews. I do a lot of social media for them and it works out coming with my WWE background and background in combat sports. My fans love it and itâ€s been fun getting to know the game.”

Moinet says WWE will always be a part of her:

“Iâ€m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. Iâ€m such a big fan, and itâ€s just a part of me, it always will be. And you know, I get the itch to go back all the time.”

Moinet was asked about who she enjoyed working with in WWE. She mentioned Saraya, formerly known as Paige, Natalya, Mercedes Mone, and several others.

He took me under his wing when I first started.”

Moinet was with WWE from 2011 to 2017. She worked as Fandango’s valet and dance partner, and was also involved in a memorable romance angle with Rusev, Lana, and Dolph Ziggler. She returned to WWE briefly in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, where she was eliminated by Natalya in under a minute. Prior to signing with WWE, Moinet played for the Chicago Bliss of the Lingerie Football League from 2008 to 2011, making the All-Star team in her final year.

Some speculation about a return to wrestling for Moinet took place last month after she posted the below cryptic Tweet:

D-Von Dudley mightâ€ve walked away from the ring after his final match at Bound for Glory 2025, but heâ€s not shutting the door completely. In fact, thereâ€s one thing that could make him lace up the boots again—and thatâ€s money.

While speaking on Dukes Loves Rasslin, D-Von was asked whether heâ€d ever consider stepping back into the ring, particularly if WWE came calling with an offer. Dudley didnâ€t beat around the bush—if the number is right, heâ€s listening.

“Look, six figures—or even close to seven figures—can make a man do anything. It can make him go back on his word real quick. But I just donâ€t see it. I donâ€t see WWE doing that. So, Iâ€m going to leave it at that.â€

Although he admits the final match was the perfect send-off, D-Von isnâ€t completely ruling out a return. The former WWE Tag Team Champion is aware that wrestling retirements are rarely permanent, and the right dollar amount could change everything.

“I also feel that we did so well in this match that doing it again, or keeping on doing it, would just be redundant. I donâ€t think we should. I think we should leave on this high note and thatâ€s it.â€

But then came the key line that left fans hopeful:

“But again, if they want to pay that kind of money to make it happen, absolutely—okay, letâ€s do it.â€

For now, D-Von remains content with how his in-ring career ended, but heâ€s also realistic—big money talks. Whether WWE or another promotion comes knocking with the kind of deal that makes him reconsider remains to be seen.

Jurgen Klopp says it is “theoretically possible†that he could one day return as Liverpool manager. The 58-year-old walked away from Anfield in 2024, ending a transformative nine-year spell at the club that included a Champions League success and the Reds†first league title in 30 years. He has taken on roles as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Liverpool won the Premier League last season under Arne Slot but many fans who revere Klopp would welcome the notion that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview on The Diary of a CEO podcast, he told Steven Bartlett: “I said I will never coach another team, a different team, in England. So that means if then itâ€s Liverpool…yeah. Theoretically itâ€s possible.â€

He continued: “Iâ€m 58, that means I could make the decision in a few years, I donâ€t know. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, I donâ€t have to do that. I can just see what the future brings.â€

Pressed on what circumstances would have to unfold to draw him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “I donâ€t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,†he said. “I donâ€t miss coaching; I donâ€t miss standing in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; I donâ€t miss going to press conferences four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“I donâ€t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the players having a nice chat, thatâ€s nice. We won a lot of games so there was often a very good mood in the building. I still have Virgil [Van Dijkâ€s] laugh in my ear for example.â€

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, crediting him for the tweaks tha took the title last term. Liverpool have lost four in a row in all competitions after a summer spending spree but he rubbished the suggestion it could be the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. Heâ€s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. Itâ€s a really good, well-judged squad. You donâ€t have to worry about Liverpool, they will be fine.â€

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Diogo Jota, a player he signed in 2020, and its impact on Liverpool. The Portugal international was killed in a car crash alongside his brother in July.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? Itâ€s not about the player himself, itâ€s the guy he was,†he said. “I canâ€t imagine the dressing room without him in it, thatâ€s so hard. I still cannot speak properly about it. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. Nobody at Liverpool will ever use it as an excuse but it is the situation. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Dealing with that on a personal level is not easy. Impossible.â€

The shocking return of CM Punk to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 was a monumental moment for the company, but it also reportedly caused significant creative plans to be scrapped. According to Wolfgang of the NXT faction Gallus, his group was scheduled to be called up to the main roster and was slated for a storyline with Drew McIntyre, but those plans were abruptly canceled when CM Punk returned.

The revelation sheds new light on the ripple effect that a major signing can have on the rest of the roster, as creative directions are forced to shift to accommodate the new top star. Speaking on the “Mic Check with Mr. Anderson” podcast, Wolfgang revealed that Gallus was on the verge of their main roster debut, only to have the plans repeatedly delayed.

“We were ready for main roster, even when we got to NXT, it was good to get there and get involved but we were ready to go at the drop of a hat to main roster. And I know for a fact that we were scheduled to be there. We were like three weeks out, and then three weeks came and they said ‘itâ€s actually like three months†and the phrase they used was the ‘can keeps getting kicked down the roadâ€.â€

Wolfgang also provided evidence for his claim, noting that Gallus was the only NXT act featured in the official event programs for major main roster shows, and they were positioned next to Drew McIntyre.

“If you go look at the 2023 Survivor Series program for the main roster, or the 2024 Royal Rumble, thereâ€s no one else in NXT in that, except for Gallus. And weâ€re right next to a full page spread of Drew McIntyre.â€

He then stated that he believes CM Punk’s return at that same Survivor Series event was the direct cause for the plans being changed, as the company’s creative focus immediately shifted.

“So I think there was a plan for us to join Drew McIntyre at some point, and then CM Punk showed up and the can kept getting kicked down the road and they didnâ€t need us anymore. And I think they got stuck. ‘This is what weâ€re doing, weâ€ll get to it at some pointâ€. They never even considered how else weâ€re going to do it.â€
