With two wins each and the AEW TNT Championship on the line, Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe locked horns for a fifth time at AEW WrestleDream 2025. Despite being hit with everything Briscoe could throw at him, it was “The Protostar” who left St. Louis, Missouri with gold around his waist.

With both men knowing each other so well, the match started very evenly, trading holds and jockeying for position. Despite creating distance to stop Briscoe from gaining control, Briscoe took advantage of Fletcher’s showboating and eventually took control of the match on the outside. Referee Paul Turner caught a chair that Briscoe threw into the ring, which he would attempt to use as a springboard, but Fletcher moved it out of the way. However, Briscoe put Fletcher on the chair and hit a Tope to the outside, firmly putting himself in the driver’s seat.

That control didn’t last long as Fletcher ducked as Briscoe went for a flipping Senton off the apron, and the champion hit a nasty powerbomb onto the side of the ring steps in the hopes of Briscoe losing via count out. Briscoe returned to the ring, but Fletcher wore him down for several minutes, and even though Briscoe tried to fight back, Fletcher hit a Michinoku Driver and a Suplex for a pair of near falls. Briscoe got back into the match after a strike exchange, but couldn’t take control as both men hit each other with a Lariat at the same time for a double-down.

Once they got up, another strike exchange ensued with Briscoe coming out on top, who landed a Fisherman’s Buster for a two count. Briscoe looked to end it with a Jay Driller but Fletcher countered with a Half-and-Half Suplex, a big boot, and a Powerbomb for another two count. Fletcher landed another pair of big boots, but after going for the Turnbuckle Brainbuster, Briscoe looked to escape. However, he couldn’t escape a Superplex for another double-down. Both men ended up on the apron for another strike exchange, but Briscoe came out on top as hit the Jay Driller on the apron.

Briscoe once again went for the finish after rolling Fletcher back into the ring, but missed the Froggy Bow, which allowed Fletcher to hit another big boot. Fletcher took Briscoe back up to the turnbuckle, but Briscoe hit the Froggy Bow on the top rope and again to the outside. Briscoe hit a third Froggy Bow in the ring, but couldn’t get the win, which led to a series of roll ups and Briscoe finally hit the Jay Driller. However, Fletcher broke the count by getting one finger on the bottom rope.

Briscoe went to hit the Cutthroat Driver, but Fletcher grabbed the referee for a distraction and hit a Low Blow and a Brainbuster which didn’t get the job done. However, a big boot and a turnbuckle Brainbuster did get the job done, and Fletcher retained his title.

There are a few stars on the AEW roster that Tony Khan is obviously pushing. It appears that he sees Kyle Fletcher as a future top name for the company, because WrestleDream was a big night for him.

AEW WrestleDream 2025 went down on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. Mark Briscoe continued his pursuit of a top title in AEW, as he targeted Kyle Fletcher and his TNT Championship.

At AEW WrestleDream, the AEW TNT Championship match featured Kyle Fletcher defending his title against Mark Briscoe.

This match went on after the Hurt Syndicate retained their six-man tag team titles. Fans were ready for this war, as Mark Briscoe was the overwealming babyface.

This match spilled to the ringside area, and they traded moves after it got started. Then Kyle Fletcher tried to stall things to slow the match to his pace as Mark Briscoe called him back to the ring. Then Briscoe followed him to apply some much-needed abuse.

This match continued and Mark Briscoe had control of the match after hitting a few big moves, including a massive dive to the outside. Then they got back in the ring, where Briscoe hit a top rope elbow for a very close near fall.

There were several near falls that followed as Don Callis continued crowing on commentary. In the end, Kyle Fletcher pulled off the win after nailing a brutal move off the top rope that sent Briscoe into the top turnbuckle, and Don Callis was very happy to get in the ring to celebrate with his champion.

WWE crowns a new Womenâ€s Evolve Champion. AEW heads to St. Louis for WrestleDream. Kelani Jordan retains her Knockouts Championship, and more!

Kendal Grey Wins WWE Womenâ€s Evolve Title

While she came up short in pursuit of an NXT Womenâ€s Championship match on Tuesday, Kendal Grey bounced back with a major win on Wednesday.

On this weekâ€s WWE Evolve Succession special, Grey challenged Kali Armstrong for the Evolve Womenâ€s Championship. Grey previously defeated Chantel Monroe in a number one contenderâ€s match to earn the opportunity. Upon match time, she then made the most of it.

In the final moments, Armstrong ran the ropes with the intention of nailing Grey with a spear. Grey, however, countered it with a match-winning powerslam to solidify herself as the new Evolve Womenâ€s Champion.

Grey, a former amateur wrestler, first signed with WWE in 2023. The following year, she made her pro debut in a tag match at an NXT live event. Since then, Grey has appeared on both NXT and WWE Evolve television. In May 2025, Grey competed in a fatal-four-way elimination match to determine the inaugural Evolve Womenâ€s Champion; Kali Armstrong outlasted the other three to claim the title.

Last weekend, WWE released several other developmental talents, including Jin Tala, Summer Sorrell, Haze Jameson, and Evolve General Manager Stevie Turner.

Kelani Jordan Retains Knockouts Title

Following the news of Ash By Elegance vacating the TNA Knockouts Championship, WWE NXT star Kelani Jordan survived a battle royal and a singles match with Lei Ying Lee to become the new champion. Her first test as Knockouts Champion then pitted her against the number one contender, Indi Hartwell, at TNA Bound For Glory on October 12.

Hartwell fought hard with the Hurts Donut and a top rope elbow drop. In the end, it was Jordan who captured victory when she landed her split-legged moonsault and pinned Hartwell to retain the Knockouts Championship.

Elsewhere at Bound For Glory, Tessa Blanchard defeated Gia Miller. The IInspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay) also retained their Knockouts Tag Team Championships by beating Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance.

Fellow Knockouts Mara Sade, Lei Ying Lee, Rosemary and Dani Luna later competed in the 2025 Call Your Shot gauntlet as well. Frankie Kazarian took Jody Threatâ€s spot in the match after attacking her on the entrance ramp.

Before all of the in-ring action, The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) and Mickie James took their places in the TNA Hall of Fame.

Hayter vs. Thekla Set For WrestleDream

This Saturday, All Elite Wrestling returns to St. Louis, Missouri, for its 2025 WrestleDream pay-per-view event.

The card features an AEW Womenâ€s Championship rematch pitting reigning champion Kris Statlander against the former one, Toni Storm. Statlander claimed the respective title by pinning Storm in a four-way bout at AEW All Out, after which Storm said she felt “nothing.†Now, the two will meet for their first-ever singles match, with the AEW Womenâ€s Championship on the line.

Elsewhere at WrestleDream, Former AEW Womenâ€s Champion Jamie Hayter and Thekla will continue their feud in a non-title match. Upon her AEW debut, Thekla attacked Hayter, rendering her unable to compete for multiple months. Since then, Hayter has been out for revenge, with an equally angry Queen Aminata in her corner. Following WrestleDream, Hayter looks ahead to AEW Dynamite on November 12, where she has challenged Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue to a battle inside Blood and Guts.

On the WrestleDream pre-show, Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford will face Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron in tag team action. This comes after Cameron saved Nightingale from an attack at the hands of Bayne and Ford on AEW Collision.

Samoa Joe submits Dralistico

AEW/Triller TV

Samoa Joe and The Opps retained the AEW World Trios Championship in the main event of Wednesday’s “AEW Dynamite” portion of the three-hour broadcast, with Samoa Joe submitting Dralistico in front of his WrestleDream opponent for the World Championship.Â

The Opps, Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Powerhouse Hobbs, were defending their titles for the fourth time in their 183-day reign against LFI’s Rush, Dralistico, and The Beast Mortos, while World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page sat on commentary for the bout; Page will defend his title against Joe during this weekend’s WrestleDream event, with things getting heated between them after they had teamed up to oust the Death Riders.Â

The match itself saw back-and-forth action prior to the closing stretch, with all three of the Opps getting their digs in before Joe finally tagged in, dropping Dralistico with a powerslam before locking in the Coquina Clutch to secure the win.Â

After the bell, LFI attacked the champions before they had a chance to celebrate. Page then got involved, fighting Mortos off and looking for the Buckshot Lariat to Rush, but Sammy Guevara pulled him from the ring before Page could deliver the move. Joe then picked up the World Championship belt, handing it off to Page with force before walking off with his teammates to close the segment.Â

The TNA Knockouts World Championship is still in the hands of an NXT Superstar.

TNA Wrestlingâ€s Bound For Glory event went down on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. A lot of titles were on the line, including the Knockouts Title in a big match.

At TNA Bound For Glory, NXT Superstar Kelani Jordan defended the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Indi Hartwell. The match marked a major crossover moment between WWEâ€s NXT brand and TNA, as Jordan represented both companies while putting her title on the line against a fellow WWE talent.

This match went down after the controversial Call Your Shot Gauntlet ended in a tie. The Knockouts World Title took the stage, and Indi Hartwellâ€s family even flew in from Australia for the occasion. The match also had a big fight feel thanks to the ring introductions.

Indi Hartwell fought hard throughout this match, but Kelani Jordan wasnâ€t going to give up the title without a fight. There were plenty of near falls in this match, even one spot where Jordan kept pinning Indi, forcing her to kick out several times in a row.

Fans were into this match as Kelani Jordan tried to put her challenger away. However, Indi Hartwell had the height advantage, which she used several times in this match.

At one point, Indi Hartwell nailed her Hurts Donut finisher, but Kelani Jordan kicked out at two. After that, Jordan moved out of the way of a top rope elbow, and then she nailed a kick to the face before hitting her Split Legged Moonsault to retain the TNA Knockouts World Championship.

We will keep a close eye on the TNA Knockouts Division. They are full of talented stars, but only time will tell who rises to the top next.

Whatâ€s your take on how TNA Wrestling is booking their Knockouts Division? Do you believe that they have the title on the right woman? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Tuesday night’s NXT North American Championship fight was over 750 days in the making, as former WWE talent and current TNA star Mustafa Ali took on current champion Ethan Page in a long-overdue opportunity for NXT gold. The night’s contest had Orlando crowd’s hearts in their throats, but when the bell finally rang, Page was the one standing tall, still the North American Champion.

Ali was relentless in his NXT title pursuit from the beginning, with his agile in-ring style overwhelming Page early on. The champion eventually found his footing when he threw himself against the ropes to trip up a top-rope bound Ali, but the match remained into a back-and-forth brawl, where Page’s wily use of the ring’s surroundings weathered Ali’s explosive in-ring finesse to keep Orlando on edge.

Tuesday’s contentious match-up came to a climax when the men took a trip over the ringside commentary table. While Page came out unscathed, Ali’s foot got caught in the table’s equipment wires. Ali’s entanglement prevented him executing a likely match-ending top rope dive, and Page opportunistically capitalized by pushing Ali from the top rope. With an incredible crash to the outside breaking Ali’s exhausted body, Page only needed a Twisted Grin to retain his title.

Ali “politicked” his way to Tuesday’s title opportunity on the recent September 30 episode of “NXT,” where he delivered a passionate promo about his missed opportunity in WWE. Reports have since come out to claim that NXT head Shawn Michaels previously had plans to bestow the gold onto Ali prior to his 2023 release, which came just days before his North American title match with previous champion Dominik Mysterio.

Lexis King and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. appeared in a backstage segment following the match to show interest in Page’s title, but no official challenge has been made as of writing.

Speaking on Friday afternoon, Postecoglou said the Europa League title he won at Tottenham last season, before he was sacked in the summer, demonstrates he does not allow pressure to impact his management.

“It doesn’t enter my head,” he added. “My responsibility lies in making sure this football club progresses and gets to a position where it can challenge for things,” said Postecoglou.

“If I start putting timelines to that or worry about what is going to happen next week then I am not performing the role I have been given.

“I just don’t think it is helpful to anyone. At the end of the day, I have to concentrate on the environment, the training, the way we play, and, as I said last night, I am still very, very strong in my belief that we are not too far away.

“Put it this way – I knew I was getting sacked at Tottenham about three or four months before I did, but that didn’t stop me from winning something.”

The 60-year-old joined Spurs from Celtic in 2023 and supporters initially warmed to the Australian for his attacking style of play, with the Londoners finishing fifth in the Premier League during his first season.

Postecoglou’s second term was more difficult as Spurs finished fourth from bottom in the table. He did, however, lead the club to their first trophy in 17 years as they beat Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Forest visit Newcastle United on Sunday (14:00 BST).

Kyle Fletcher cuts a promo on the entrance ramp

AEW/Lee South

Kyle Fletcher got back to winning ways and retained his TNT Championship over Orange Cassidy during the “AEW Dynamite” six-year anniversary show, albeit with a little help from yet another addition to the Don Callis Family.Â

Having failed in his All Out attempt at the AEW World Championship, Fletcher challenged Hologram to a “Title vs. Streak” match on Wednesday, feeling that beating the 34-0 luchador would be a fitting way to get back on the proverbial horse. However, after he attacked Hologram during Saturday’s “AEW Collision,” it was announced that the challenger would be unable to compete in the title bout and would thus be replaced by his Conglomeration stablemate, Orange Cassidy.Â

Cassidy took the fight to Fletcher as one would expect, looking to add the TNT Championship to a resume that already includes two reigns with the International Championship. However, he would fall short to the numbers game of the DCF; this time a new member, initially posing as Hologram to cost Cassidy the match. The member remained under the Hologram guise until the entirety of the DCF, including newly added member Andrade, emerged to stand on the ramp with them and Fletcher. It was then that he unveiled himself to be El Clon, formerly known as Arez, to close the segment.Â

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Europe has retained the Ryder Cup, fending off a furious rally from the United States in singles play Sunday at Bethpage Black.

The Americans’ hopes of a historic comeback ended when the eighth singles match between Shane Lowry and Russell Henley was halved, with the Irishman sinking a 6-foot birdie putt on No. 18 after Henley missed short from a similar line a few feet farther out.

That half-point gave Europe the coveted 14 it needed to retain golf’s ultimate team prize.

“I mean, I’ve been so lucky to experience amazing things in this game,” Lowry, in tears, said. “That was the hardest couple hours of my life. Honestly.

“I just can’t believe it. I can’t believe that putt went in. … The Ryder Cup means everything to me.”

Europe started play Sunday needing just 2 points to beat the host Americans. It led 11.5-4.5 when play concluded Saturday, and the score moved to 12-5 when Norway’s Viktor Hovland was forced to withdraw from singles due to a neck injury, which turned his scheduled match against Harris English into a draw.

The U.S. got two points early, with Cameron Young and Justin Thomas both converting birdie putts on No. 18 to win their respective matches over Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood.

Bryson DeChambeau halved his match with Matt Fitzpatrick despite being 5 down through 7 holes, and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, winless through the first four sessions, beat Rory McIlroy, 1-up.

But Ludvig Ã…berg’s 2-and-1 win over Patrick Cantlay moved Europe within a half-point of victory, allowing Lowry to win with a half.

There is a sense behind the scenes at Chelsea that some of the negativity towards their start has been an over-reaction.

It has also been recognised there are likely to be undulations this season given a disrupted pre-season owing to their participation in the Club World Cup and the added workload created by their Champions League campaign.

While there has been disappointment in recent defeats by Manchester United and Brighton, and an acknowledgement their form has to improve, Chelsea are taking a fuller perspective on matters.

They have lost just five matches since May, and in four of those defeats Maresca’s side have gone down to 10 men.

Furthermore, Chelsea stuck with him last season despite a mid-winter slump that saw the club win just three times in 12 matches – one of those against Morecambe in the FA Cup.

The plan is to judge Maresca at the end of the season, with a top-four league finish and deep cup runs the target for the 45-year-old.

That said, there is a feeling the squad is far stronger than it was last season which, in itself, could raise expectations on Maresca.

But there is a clear sense the campaign should be assessed as a whole.

Indeed, key figures are in agreement that avoiding injuries, given their Champions League participation, will be a challenge to overcome this season.

Their efforts to strengthen the squad over the summer was made with a view to ensuring Maresca had the tools to rotate players with that increased workload in mind.

Of course, it remains to be seen if the support fades should he be unable to improve their early season form.

But heading into such an important week, the Blues boss has the full backing of the club’s key decision-makers.
