When WWE invaded the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland for the August 22 episode of “WWE SmackDown,” former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Piper Niven picked up one of the biggest victories of her career as she defeated Charlotte Flair in one of the biggest surprises of the year. However, she has not wrestled since that match, and the reason for that has officially been confirmed.
In a new report from Fightful Select, WWE sources have confirmed that Niven has been injured over the past month. Many fans had inquired about Niven’s whereabouts, especially after defeating Flair, the fact that she has played a prominent role on Friday nights as a member of Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice, and that she was meant to challenge Flair and Alexa Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships alongside Green. Now that it has been confirmed that Niven is indeed injured, the immediate follow-up question people had was how long will she be out of action? WWE sources currently don’t know how bad her injury is, meaning that there is no timeline on when she could potentially return.
Niven was present at the recent NXT Heatwave Premium Live Event on August 24, where both she and Alba Fyre accompanied Green and NXT North American Champion Ethan Page to ringside for their mixed tag team match against Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele. Since then, Fyre has filled in for Niven whenever Green has needed a tag team partner, such as the aforementioned recent match against Flair and Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the September 19 episode of “SmackDown.” With that said, Green might have wanted her own personal bodyguard in her corner instead of Fyre as it was Flair and Bliss who emerged victorious, keeping their championship reign in tact.

When John Cena made his entrance at WWE Wrestlepalooza, he brought out many of his young fans with him, dressed like him. In that moment, viewers were possibly under the impression that Cena was going over Brock Lesnar.
But this was Brock Lesnar’s first match in two years, and he does not simply do the job. An athlete of his stature needs a very good reason to take the fall. This is John Cena’s Farewell Tour, but The Greatest Of All Time has a few more dates before his final match on December 13.
Throw in Paul Heyman and the former UFC Heavyweight Champion’s reunion, and it seems the seeds have been sown for a blockbuster WarGames match in November. Perhaps this is why WWE decided to go with Brock Lesnar drawing first blood.
John Cena Was Originally Slated To Beat Brock Lesnar At WWE Wrestlepalooza
According to BodySlam via Patreon,as of Saturday morning, John Cena was scheduled to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestlePalooza, but plans were reportedly changed.
Lesnar manhandling The Last Real Champion broke the hearts of many children in attendance. With this bold move, Cena now has a redemption arc to complete before he rides off into the sunset. A win over Lesnar to end his career could be the endgame.
The Never Seen 17 made a career out of overcoming the odds. Big Match John has endured many painful losses and bounced back from them. Should WWE continue the Lesnar storyline till December, it would be reminiscent of Cena’s rivalry with The Rock.
The Farewell Tour has been filled with highs and lows. Despite it peaking with a solid heel turn in March, the success of the heel run is debatable. Eventually, the fans could not continue booing the natural babyface star, and he gave up his villainous ways before SummerSlam, much to everyone’s delight.
The next few weeks should give us a clearer idea of where his story is headed.

Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris reportedly will miss the rest of the season after suffering an Achilles injury against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
In the second quarter of the game, Harris was lined up in the backfield and hit the ground immediately after he started running once the ball was snapped. He was then carried off the field.
Harris joined the Chargers this offseason having recorded four consecutive seasons with 1,000 or more rushing yards, and he was hoping for more of the same this year. Unfortunately for him, his season hasn’t gone well so far as he’s logged just 33 rushing yards on nine carries through the first two games.
He was putting together a strong performance on Sunday before he exited, picking up 28 yards on six carries. Now, rather than trying to make a big impact on offense, Harris will just be hoping to avoid a serious injury.
Harris, who has yet to miss a game in his NFL career, dealt with some injury troubles over the summer. The running back suffered a “superficial” eye injury during a fireworks “mishap” at a 4th of July event a few months ago. That injury forced him to miss more than a month of action, but he ultimately was on the field to start the year in Week 1.
With Harris out, Los Angeles will continue leaning on rookie running back Omarion Hampton, who has seen the most action in the backfield so far this season. Through two games, Hampton has logged 23 carries for 72 yards. The Chargers also have Hassan Haskins as an option behind Hampton.

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner will reportedly miss the rest of the season after suffering an ankle injury during Sunday’s 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Conner had to be carted off the field after suffering the injury:
He was officially listed as out for the remainder of the game with an ankle injury.
The 30-year-old Conner has been an important fixture for Arizona’s offense in recent years, with back-to-back seasons rushing for over 1,000 yards and 18 total touchdowns between the 2023-24 seasons. In his first four seasons with the Cardinals he’s never rushed for less than 750 yards.
While his impact has been more muted as a runner this season—he came into Sunday’s contest with 73 rushing yards and a score on 23 attempts, ceding some snaps to Trey Benson—he remained an important playmaker for the team alongside quarterback Kyler Murray, wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. and tight end Trey McBride.
On Sunday, he had nine carries for 22 yards. He’s under contract through the 2026 season.
Given how serious Conner’s injury looked, it’s possible he’s facing a lengthy stint on the sideline. That should leave Benson in line to receive the majority of the snaps and touches out of Arizona’s backfield. He rushed for 291 yards and a touchdown in 13 games during his rookie season last year.
As for the Cardinals, the team came into Week 2 undefeated and looking to build on high expectations for the 2025 season. Losing Conner for the rest of the season will somewhat damper those hopes.
