Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado owned up to his costly turnover in Sunday’s 22-21 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

With Arizona leading by 15 points in the fourth quarter, Demercado got loose for what initially looked like a 72-yard touchdown run. Unfortunately for he and the Cardinals, he started his celebration prematurely. He lost possession before crossing the goal line, and the ball went out of the end zone for a touchback.

“I made a mistake. There’s really no excuse,” Demercado told reporters after the game. “I was obviously emotional. It was a big play, but I just got to be smarter.”

The third-year back added he’s not going to think about the play any longer than he needs to.

“You just have to,” he said. “Can’t get it back. Nothing I can do about it, so why keep holding on to it?”

It’s almost certainly game over if the Cardinals jump ahead by 22 points with less than 13 minutes to play. Instead, the Titans got a major lifeline.

Tennessee got touchdowns on its next two drives, and Joey Slye connected on a 29-yard field goal as time expired to give his team its first win.

Demercado’s fumble wasn’t the sole reason for Arizona’s late collapse, and the football gods seemed to be tipping the scales in favor of the Titans. You don’t often see a defensive interception turn into an offensive touchdown, which is what happened during the frenzied fourth quarter.

With a losing skid that now sits at three games, Arizona will hope its luck in Week 6 improves as it hits the road to play the red-hot Indianapolis Colts.

After Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields had a bullish reaction to hearing that no team in NFL history has ever made the playoffs after starting the season with a 0-5 record.

“There’s a first time for everything, brother,” Fields told reporters. “The team is good, we have a locker room full of warriors, a locker room full of men that want to get better.”

The Jets remained winless after falling 37-22 in front of their home fans at MetLife Stadium in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score makes it seem. The team was trailing 10-3 and made it to the red zone late in the first half before a fumble by Breece Hall kicked off a series of unfortunate events that resulted in a 23-3 halftime deficit.

Fields threw for 283 yards and a pair of touchdowns that came when the game was well out of hand, and he added 26 rushing yards. He was sacked five times while facing a Cowboys defense that ranked among the worst in the NFL entering Sunday’s game.

Still, Fields made it clear that the Jets haven’t given up on the 2025 season as first-year head coach Aaron Glenn tries to rebuild the culture of the downtrodden franchise.

“We’re not looking at ‘no team has ever made the playoffs after an 0-5 start,'” Fields added. “That’s the goal, at the end of the day. We’re not basing our life off of a statistic, so to say.”

A number of Dallas Cowboys fans chanted “MVP” as Dak Prescott ran off the field during Week 5’s 37-22 win over the New York Jets.

Prescott heard, but he’s not getting ahead of himself.

“I mean, my ears work, so I heard it, but I didn’t hear it. It’s Week 5. I don’t care,” he told reporters. “I don’t care if it was Week 17. I’ve told y’all what I want to win, the team goals. Right now, the success and the continued success is going to happen, [and] it’s just a beneficiary of all the guys in that locker room.”

While the Cowboys are only 2-2-1 this season, Prescott has undeniably gotten off to a strong start and continued it on Sunday, finishing 18-of-29 for 237 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. He now has 1,356 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions through five games, and of late has had to do it without superstar receiver CeeDee Lamb.

“Look, I think we’re spoiled,” head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters. “I think he’s one of the best players in the league. He’s certainly one of the best teammates and leaders out there that I’ve ever been around. The guys believe in him. He’s playing with a ton of confidence right now.”

Prescott has always been an excellent September-through-November quarterback. The knock on him traditionally has been that he doesn’t maintain that level once the more important games roll around later in the season or during the playoffs.

For now, however, he has some fans thinking MVP.

TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan poses on the ramp with her title before a segment on

WWE

Former NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan shocked the wrestling world when she won the TNA Knockouts Championship during her first appearance in the company last week. On Tuesday, she was named the captain of the women’s TNA team ahead of their Survivor Series-style match at the “WWE NXT” versus TNA Showdown special on Tuesday. It was something former Knockouts Champion and current NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne didn’t take kindly to, calling Jordan a “traitor.” Jordan recently appeared on “Busted Open Radio” and spoke about where her loyalties lie ahead of Showdown.Â

“So Tuesday, we got people calling me a traitor on the ‘NXT’ side, but this time, the TNA people had my back,” Jordan explained. “But at the end of the day, I’m the champion. I carry this on my shoulder and my responsibility goes to being a champion, being a captain, leading my team to success. So yes, I’m an ‘NXT’ superstar and it’s always going to be in my heart, but right now, I’m a champion at TNA.”

Jordan chose former WWE stars and new TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions the IInspiration (formerly the IIconics), Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee, and another former “NXT” star Mara Sade, formerly known as Jakara Jackson, for her team. She said on “Busted Open” that now, the real question was is she going to be okay with questions coming at her from both sides.

“Because I got TNA people, hopefully they can trust me, and I got my ‘NXT’ people saying I’m a traitor, not understanding I was picked as captain, so what would anyone else do?” she said.

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders had a good laugh about how son Shedeur answered questions regarding his spot in the depth chart after the Cleveland Browns benched starter Joe Flacco.

Shedeur remains the third-stringer behind new QB1 Dillon Gabriel and Flacco. How does he feel about that? Well, it’s anybody’s guess because he didn’t actually say anything Wednesday.

Deion seemingly approved, posting “Good 1 son” in an Instagram comment.

Shedeur’s approach was seemingly a nod to ESPN analyst and former NFL head coach Rex Ryan. During Monday’s edition of Get Up, Ryan said the rookie “talks” and “runs his mouth.”

Ryan took particular issue with Sanders saying last week he’s better than some of the starting quarterbacks in the league right now.

Sanders is in a tough position because he creates news whenever he speaks publicly. And as Wednesday showed, he can spark headlines even when he doesn’t vocalize anything.

All of this is a good example of why so many teams balked at picking the former Colorado star in the 2025 NFL draft.

Maybe he proves to be a capable starting-caliber QB in the pros. For now, he’s commanding more attention than just about any third-string quarterback in recent memory.

WWE loses another NXT star, former partner speaks out.

Edris Enofe made his WWE debut on the November 16, 2021, episode of 205 Live. In that same month, he began wrestling in NXT and shared the ring with the likes of Solo Sikoa, Von Wagner, and more. Interestingly, the first person he defeated in the company, Malik Blade, eventually became his tag team partner in the developmental brand. They debuted their partnership in 2022 by reaching the Semi-finals of that year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

However, their duo was put to a halt after Blade tore his ACL in November. In April this year, Enofe joined the Evolve brand, the same brand that Malik joined when he returned from injury a month later, but announced he was now a solo star, officially breaking up the pair.

Now, Edris Enofe announced that he decided to leave WWE, and despite breaking up with Malik Blade, the latter was still appreciative of their time together. On X (Twitter), the 31-year-old posted a video where he shared that he had departed the Triple H-led company. His former tag team partner then reposted the video and thanked him for everything.

Thank you bro for everything [3 muscle emoji]”

Despite being in Evolve, Edris Enofe continues wrestling on NXT Live. His last WWE match was on the July 25 house show at the Citrus Springs, Florida, where he was defeated by Lince Dorado.

What Did Edris Enofe Say Regarding His WWE Exit?

On his social media, Edris Enofe posted a video sharing that he decided to leave WWE, a decision that he thought about for a while. He thanked the opportunity for being able to wrestle in the company and the people he met in his journey, putting emphasis on the coaches and the fans.

As of today, I will officially be leaving the WWE. This is a decision that I thought about for a very long time and I’m going to trust my gut on this. With that being said, for the past four years, I had the chance and the opportunity to meet and work with incredible people from the wrestlers to the referees, to the creative team, to the medical staff, and of course to all the coaches who put in so much time and effort into making me better. And for that, I will always, always appreciate y’all. And of course, to all the fans who have supported me and stood by my side through all these years, thank you.”

Edris Enofeâ€s WWE departure is already making waves—and it didnâ€t take long for AEWâ€s Ricochet to chime in.

Shortly after Enofe posted a heartfelt video on Instagram confirming his WWE exit, Ricochet reacted on Twitter with a message that was both blunt and humorous, tagging AEW in the process.

“Come to @AEW and ima slap you in the face. #Ahaa†— Ricochet via X

The tweet instantly caught attention, adding fuel to speculation that Enofe could make the leap to All Elite Wrestling—especially with Ricochet now thriving in the AEW system after his own WWE exit earlier this year.

Enofeâ€s departure marks the end of a four-year run with WWE, where he became a standout on the NXT roster. In his announcement, he showed nothing but gratitude for the people who helped shape his journey.

“As of today, I will officially be leaving the WWE. This is a decision that I thought about for a very long time, and Iâ€m gonna trust my gut on this,†Enofe said. “For the past four years, I had the chance and the opportunity to meet and work with incredible people… and of course to all the fans who have supported me and stuck by my side through all these years, thank you.â€

He recently returned to action following shoulder surgery, with his last match taking place at an NXT live event in July. His longtime tag partner Malik Blade remains out of action due to a torn ACL suffered in December 2024.

While Enofe hasnâ€t commented on his next move, Ricochetâ€s tweet has certainly sparked conversation—and maybe even a storyline.

Do you want to see Edris Enofe join AEW and mix it up with Ricochet? Should he explore the indie scene or Japan instead? Drop your thoughts in the comments.

AJ Styles pays homage to Eddie Guerrero

Elsa/Getty Images

AJ Styles is set to hang up his boots soon. The former WWE Champion announced that he would be retiring in 2026, following the retirememt tour of fellow former champion John Cena. In a new interview with “Busted Open,” one of Styles’s compatriots from WWE and TNA, Eric Young, had high praise for the former TNA X Division Champion.

“You could argue that he’s maybe one of, if not the best, to do it, bell-to-bell, ever,” Young said. “And for me, more importantly, he’s an unbelievable man, you know? A good person. And he’s never changed. He’s the exact same AJ Styles that I met in 2004. Smarter. Maybe not quite as athletic or as quick. We’re all gonna slow down, AJ. Sorry about that. The guy’s got a legacy a mile long.”

Young says that AJ has a case to be on a pro wrestling “Mount Rushmore.” Young doesn’t feel there are many wrestlers who could squeeze Styles out of his top 4 or 5 list.

“Most importantly, he’s just an unbelievable human being, and I’m proud to call him my friend,” Young gushed.

Styles is set to face John Cena one last time, as the two former WWE Champions will battle in Australia at the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel event. Cena had been paying homage to Styles in his retirement matches, and both men had bemoaned not wrestling each other as a way to gin up fan interest in the match without using up Cena’s few remaining appearances.

A tie seemed to be enough for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to take a small victory lap over trading edge-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

The Cowboys and Packers played to a 40-40 stalemate in Parsons’ return to AT&T Stadium on Sunday night.

“They played three and a half hours out there tonight, okay, and tied,” Jones told reporters matter-of-factly after the game. “They got Micah. And we’ve got what we’ve got. And we tied. We’ll try it again.”

The 82-year-old went on to contrast the output of franchise quarterback Dak Prescott, whom the Cowboys have constantly signed to big deals, to that of Parsons, who got traded amid a contract standoff.

“It’s very simple: Dak was indispensable, in my mind… and Micah wasn’t,” Jones said. “It’s just numbers, it’s that easy. And that’s not personal at all… the numbers just weren’t there with Micah.”

Despite the presence of Parsons along the front seven, Green Bay didn’t have much of an answer for Prescott. The three-time Pro Bowler went 31-of-40 for 319 yards and three touchdowns without No. 1 wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who’s dealing with an ankle injury.

Parsons, meanwhile, had three tackles and one sack. While he wasn’t totally anonymous, he didn’t impact the contest in a significant way.

Coming out of Sunday night with a tie wasn’t the best-case scenario for the Cowboys but provided some room for encouragement. They fought hard against an NFC playoff contender and denied Parsons a measure of revenge.

Of course, the more pessimistic view is that Dallas might’ve come out on top if had never traded Parsons in the first place. As well as Prescott performed, he couldn’t totally overcome his defense allowing 489 yards.

Having an elite sack artist on the edge certainly would’ve helped the Cowboys in Week 4.

Green Bay Packers defensive superstar Micah Parsons returned to Dallas on Sunday for a regular-season matchup after the Cowboys traded the two-time First Team All-Pro a month ago.

On the Sunday Night Football pregame broadcast, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked about his reaction to seeing Parsons heading back to Dallas, where he starred for four seasons.

Jones was asked the question by Jason Garrett, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and head coach who now works as an analyst for NBC Sports.

“Well, Jason of all people, you know my personal feeling with great players,” Jones began. “Consequently, when you hear the crowd and you see that player come back, it reminds me when we played [former Cowboys running back Hershel Walker, or when…[former Dallas RB Emmitt Smith] came back. You get a great ovation just as he’s getting here tonight.

As Jones was talking, Parsons came jogging onto the field. NBC Sports’ Maria Taylor then asked Jones what it was like to see him in the green and gold of a Packer uniform.

“Well, of course, I’ve seen that trot, and seen him run out like that for four straight years,” Jones said. “So I’ve seen it…the green and gold as a little problem for me looking at it.”

Parsons entered this season on the final year of a rookie contract in search of a new deal, but that never materialized with the Cowboys. The two sides (with Jones leading the Cowboys’ camp) got into a prolonged contract dispute. Ultimately, Parsons requested a trade last August, and that was granted by the end of the month.

The Cowboys got two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark for Parsons, who signed a four-year, $186 million contract extension with Green Bay.

It was an ugly divorce, but Parsons was sensational in his time in Dallas, amassing 52.5 sacks and 112 quarterback hits. Jones certainly recognized that in his remarks, but ultimately, both signs have now moved on.
