Rainford Table Tennis Club based in St. Helens is delighted to announce that it has secured Sport England funding to launch a brand-new programme of table tennis sessions specifically designed for people living with Parkinsonâ€s disease. The successful funding application, valued at £8,610, will help the club expand its inclusive offer and provide more opportunities for local residents to stay active through table tennis.

The project will be delivered at the clubâ€s new venue in Rainford, where specialist equipment, coaching support, and volunteer training will ensure that sessions are safe, enjoyable, and tailored to the needs of participants. Table tennis is increasingly recognised as a beneficial physical activity for those with neurological conditions, supporting improvements in balance, coordination, and overall wellbeing.

Club organisers say the initiative will not only promote regular physical activity but will also create a welcoming social environment for those taking part and their families. The funding will enable the club to keep participation costs low and remove barriers for new players who may be taking their first steps back into sport.

Rainford Table Tennis Club extends its thanks to Sport England for supporting this important development and looks forward to welcoming new participants when the programme launches.
