Seth Rollins†injury just threw a massive wrench into WWEâ€s plans, and now CM Punk is left without a confirmed opponent for Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event. But WWE isnâ€t wasting time scrambling to fill the gap—because a major battle royal is going down tonight on RAW to decide who steps up against Punk.
According to Bodyslam.net, the October 20 episode of WWE RAW will now feature a battle royal in response to Rollins†shoulder injury, which has sidelined the World Heavyweight Champion and called off the originally planned title defense against CM Punk.
With Rollins already written off TV, Adam Pearce is expected to address his status in RAWâ€s final segment live from Sacramentoâ€s Golden 1 Center. Sources say that segment will revolve around “the fate of the World Heavyweight Championship,†which could indicate that CM Punk vs. the winner of the Battle Royal could receive the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The rest of the RAW card remains stacked. Becky Lynch defends her Womenâ€s Intercontinental Title against Maxxine Dupri. Dominik Mysterio puts the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Rusev. The WWE Tag Team Titles will be up for grabs in a clash between Finn Balor & JD McDonagh and AJ Styles & Dragon Lee. Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman are also scheduled to speak on their vicious assault of Rollins.
The October 20 episode of RAW airs live on Netflix at 8 PM ET, and the battle royal now has the spotlight. With CM Punk waiting on the other end, the stakes couldnâ€t be higher.
Confirmed WWE RAW Lineup for October 20, 2025:
- Adam Pearce Will Address Seth Rollins†Status
- Womenâ€s Intercontinental Title: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Maxxine Dupri
- Intercontinental Title: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Rusev
- WWE Tag Team Titles: Finn Balor & JD McDonagh (c) vs. AJ Styles & Dragon Lee
- Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman Address Their Actions
The October 20 RAW will air live on Netflix starting at 8 PM ET, and the final segment could set the course for Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event and beyond. Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of this weekâ€s show over in our WWE Monday Night RAW coverage hub.

Two female WWE stars get matching tattoos with CM Punk.
Just days after WWE held Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, the Stamford-based promotion then made a trip to Tokyo for a special two-day SuperShow Japan. Stars like AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, and more were present for the show at the Ryogoku Kokugikan from October 17 to 18, joining them is CM Punk.
Aside from competing in both nights in Tokyo, Japan, The Best in the World also gets to spend time with his fellow superstars outside of the squared circle. On Instagram, Rhea Ripley shared a photo of herself, Raquel Rodriguez, and CM Punk getting a matching Japanese-inspired tattoo of a sumo wrestler.

CM Punk Shares The Ring With Rhea Ripley And Raquel Rodriguez At WWE SuperShow Japan
Although The Voice of the Voiceless was getting along with Raquel Rodriguez outside the ring, that isn’t the case once the bell rings. Still, he maintained a positive relationship with The Eradicator.
CM Punk competed in both nights of WWE SuperShow Japan on October 17 and 18. On the first night of the show, he faced Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. Although the former won, he wasn’t able to win the title because the finish was due to The Judgment Day’s interference. However, Punk was able to fend off Raquel and Roxanne Perez by having Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky as backup.
On the second night, The Best in the World teamed up with Shinsuke Nakamura, where they defeated The Vision’s Bron Breaakker and Bronson Reed. Following this main event, AJ Styles joined the winners inside the ring to address the Japanese fans ahead of his 2026 retirement. The rest of the locker room also came out to give The Phenomenal One a proper send-off.

CM Punk brought serious heart to Tokyo this weekend—and he wasnâ€t alone.
During WWEâ€s second Supershow at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday morning, Punk joined forces with Shinsuke Nakamura for a rare tag team main event. The match saw them defeat Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, reuniting former members of The Vision for one last Tokyo clash.
But what happened after the bell rang may have meant even more to fans in the building. Once the action ended, CM Punk grabbed a mic and took a moment to speak directly to the Japanese crowd, expressing deep respect for the country, its wrestling culture, and its legends.
“I wish I could speak fluent Japanese,†Punk began, before connecting with the crowd in English. “But I think a lot of you understand English.â€
He didnâ€t stop there. Punk praised the Tokyo audience as one of the best heâ€s ever performed in front of, revealing just how long heâ€d dreamed of this moment.
“It is a privilege for me to be able to wrestle in front of what I feel is the greatest wrestling audience in the world … the Japanese wrestling fans,†Punk said. “Itâ€s a little ironic. When I was a little boy and I fell in love with pro wrestling. All I ever wanted to do was go to Japan.â€
Punk also shared his love for the late WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk, drawing a powerful connection between Funkâ€s cowboy image and the influence it had on generations of Japanese wrestlers.
“I think a lot of the Japanese wrestlers, they wanted to be American cowboys,†Punk told the crowd. “They wanted to be Terry Funk. So to me, itâ€s very beautiful that I get to come to Tokyo and I get to share a ring with a legend like Shinsuke Nakamura.â€
Nakamura then translated Punkâ€s heartfelt speech to the fans in their native language, which was followed by AJ Styles making his way out for an emotional farewell of his own—bringing things full circle for a night filled with respect, memories, and legacy.
Do you think CM Punk teaming with Nakamura in Japan should become more than just a one-time moment? Would you like to see them together again—or maybe even face off? Drop your thoughts below and share your favorite moment from the Japan Supershow.
WWE wrapped its mini-tour of Japan today with another big show at the legendary Sumo Hall. After an eventful opening, today’s show featured an emotional farewell for an all-time great.
AJ Styles has said he plans to retire in 2026. The veteran Superstar has legendary ties to Japan, and he always receives a warm welcome when returning to the country. The two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion defeated El Grande Americano and Ivar in a Triple Threat at Friday’s live event, and defeated Kofi Kingston at today’s show.
CM Punk had a big moment to close Friday’s live event in Tokyo. Today’s show was headlined by Punk and Shinsuke Nakamura defeating Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. After the match, Punk introduced Styles, noting that he likely just wrestled his final match in The Land of The Rising Sun.
The Phenomenal One then addressed the Tokyo crowd, responding to their chants with immense appreciation. He also asked Nakamura to read a note to the local crowd.
“It should be me thanking you for everything youâ€ve done for AJ Styles. So thank you for everything youâ€ve done for me. I donâ€t know where I would be without you. Iâ€m pretty sure I wouldnâ€t be here in the WWE if it wasnâ€t for you, coming and wrestling in Japan. But I wrote something and I had it translated in Japanese because I want to make sure itâ€s said in your language so you can know how much that I love and appreciate you. So Nakamura, if you wouldnâ€t mind, would you mind reading what I wrote?,” AJ Styles wrote.
The WWE Roster Celebrates AJ Styles
The King of Strong Style then read AJ’s note to the crowd at Sumo Hall. A rough translation of that note is below.
“Everyone, as you all know, when I first came to Japan, to be honest, I didnâ€t know what people expected from me or if someone like me would even be accepted here. But from the very first day, you welcomed me with respect and passion. Every time I passed through the curtain to the ring in Japan, I gave everything I had because I felt you all were worthy of it. In return, you gave me something I will never forget: trust, energy, and love for professional wrestling. Maybe one day Iâ€ll leave this ring, but a part of my heart will always remain here, in the hearts of the Japanese people and in each and every one of you. Thank you,” Shinsuke Nakamura said on behalf of AJ Styles.
The WWE roster then came out to celebrate AJ in a wholesome moment for the live crowd. The in-ring celebration included LA Knight, Ivar, Rhea Ripley, Asuka, Roxanne Perez, Jey Uso, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria, Penta, and others.
Pro Wrestling NOAH legend Naomichi Marufuji was at ringside, and had a moment with his rival and friend. WWE allowed AJ to return to Japan last year to defeat Marufuji at NOAH Destination.

Following a televised episode of Monday Night RAW in Australia, WWE held a non-televised live event for the fans in Melbourne. The show featured an Intercontinental Championship match where the titleholder, Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day, defended his gold against CM Punk. The contest was part of WWE’s tour that also included SmackDown and the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.
The championship match ended in a disqualification when Dominik Mysterioâ€s stablemates, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, interfered to save his title. The odds were soon evened as Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky made their way to the ring to support CM Punk. The two babyfaces quickly neutralized Rodriguez and Perez, leaving “Dirty” Dom alone to face the consequences.
The post-match action saw Ripley shove Mysterio, causing him to stumble and trip over Iyo Sky. This allowed CM Punk to recover and hit Mysterio with his signature GTS (Go to Sleep) finishing maneuver. However, the humiliation for the Intercontinental Champion was not over, as Punk had more planned for the Melbourne audience.
CM Punk lifted Mysterio and executed Rhea Ripleyâ€s own finishing move, the Riptide. To add to the embarrassment, Punk then pinned Mysterio using Ripley’s signature “pretzel pin.” Punk then motioned for Ripley to make the count, and she obliged, counting to three as the fans cheered for the babyfaces celebrating in the ring.
After this week’s WWE RAW, CM Punk issued a jarring statement to fans.
CM Punk was among the stars who traveled to Perth, Australia, in the past few days for WWE Crown Jewel festivities. Although he didn’t compete at the premium live event on Saturday, fans noticed that he was watching with the live audience during AJ Styles vs. John Cena. Additionally, he was present the following night on Monday Night RAW.
On the October 13 episode of WWE RAW, CM Punk defeated Jey Uso and LA Knight to become the Number One contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, his night didn’t end in his favor as The Vision attacked him during his celebration. As it turns out, The Best in the World was dealing with other challenges outside the squared circle.
On his Instagram story, CM Punk posted another reminder to fans about boundaries. The WWE star warned them about not approaching him at airports and hotels, noting that fans shouldn’t follow people.
We unfortunately have to have this conversation again. Do not turn up at airports. Do not show up at hotels. I cannot believe I have to say this. DO NOT FOLLOW PEOPLE. Youâ€ve repeatedly been politely told no, respect it. You are not a fan, you are a stalker and will be treated as such. Respect the boundaries. Stop harassing people.â€

Unfortunately, WWE stars getting bombarded by fans during their personal time has been happening for a while. When the company was in Europe a few months ago for Clash in Paris, Sheamus and Rhea Ripley were among the stars who were swarmed by fans while out and about.
CM Punk Already Warned WWE Fans About Boundaries A Couple Of Months Ago
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only instance CM Punk had to issue this troubling statement to fans. Just a couple of months ago, en route to Clash in Paris, The Second City Saint posted on his Instagram story pleading with fans not to touch strangers.
CM Punk has had enough — and heâ€s calling out fans who are crossing the line in a big way.
In a message posted to his Instagram Stories, the WWE star issued a public warning to individuals who have been showing up at airports and hotels just to catch him off guard. Punk didnâ€t sugarcoat it — he made it crystal clear that this type of behavior is not fan support, itâ€s harassment.
“We unfortunately have to have this conversation again,†Punk wrote. “Do not turn up at airports. Do not show up at hotels. I cannot believe I have to say this. DO NOT FOLLOW PEOPLE.â€
Punk went on to say that these repeated invasions of privacy have been addressed before — and that enough is enough.
“Youâ€ve repeatedly been politely told no, respect it,†he continued. “You are not a fan, you are a stalker and will be treated as such. Respect the boundaries. Stop harassing people.â€
This kind of statement isnâ€t new in pro wrestling. Top talent from WWE, AEW, and other promotions have dealt with increasingly aggressive behavior from fans using flight tracking apps, social media tips, and hotel searches to track their every move. What might seem like an innocent autograph opportunity to some has spiraled into full-on privacy breaches.
Wrestlers have shared horror stories over the years — from being followed through security lines at airports to having strangers request their hotel room numbers at the front desk. Some have even been approached at dinner while sitting with their families. Itâ€s become a serious problem that blurs the line between fandom and obsession.
CM Punk, being one of the most well-known figures in the industry, has long dealt with the darker side of fame. But this latest outburst shows the frustration is reaching a boiling point — and heâ€s no longer staying silent.
Should fans respect wrestlers†personal boundaries more? Where is the line between dedication and disrespect? Let us know what you think in the comments.
WWE Superstar CM Punk has once again reminded fans of the importance of privacy with a strongly worded message on social media. Taking to his Instagram Stories, Punk made clear that those who lurk around waiting to accost wrestlers are no better than stalkers.
“We unfortunately have to have this conversation again. Do not turn up at airports. Do not show up at hotels. I cannot believe I have to say this. DO NOT FOLLOW PEOPLE. You’ve repeatedly been politely told no, respect it. You are not a fan, you are a stalker and will be treated as such. Respect the boundaries. Stop harassing people.”
It’s unclear if a specific incident has prompted this message from Punk, but this is not his first time speaking on the matter. In 2024, Punk called out fans waiting at airports for autographs, sharing that they often use their children as ‘shields’ to avoid criticism. Cody Rhodes recently shared that many who wait at airports simply get autographs to sell on for profit.
Punk will mark two years since returning to WWE next month, and has a future World Heavyweight Championship opportunity lined up. While Punk is pleased to represent WWE and appreciates his legion of fans, he has no time for those who take things too far.

CM Punk vs LA Knight vs Jey Uso
It was already advertised that the main event of this weekâ€s Monday Night Raw will be a triple threat match between CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso. During CM Punkâ€s entrance, he received the biggest pop of the night, as the crowd kept singing his entrance song even after the music stopped playing. This match started as a very fast-paced match, and saw many great moments in this match, like LA Knight kicking out of Jey Usoâ€s finishing Uso Splash. This match received “Fight For Forever†chants from the audience multiple times. At the end of the match, as Jey was about to hit his Uso Splash to CM Punk, Punk countered the move and delivered a GTS to Jey Uso, and with that, CM Punk secured the victory in this match and became the number 1 contender for Seth Rollinsâ€s World Heavyweight Championship.
After the match, Seth Rollins and the Vision came out to the ring and attacked CM Punk, and as Raw was about to go off the air, we saw one most shocking moments. Bron Breakker betrayed his mentor, Seth Rollins, and speared him. After that, Breakker stood face to face with Bronson Reed, and he said, “You are either with me or notâ€, which resulted in Reed delivering a Tsunami to Rollins. Bron Breakker made his intentions clear by turning on Seth Rollins on tonight’s episode of WWE RAW.
However, there seems to be confusion about who will get a crack at the World Heavyweight Title, as moments before the attack, CM Punk won a number one contender match.
In this article, we look at decoding the same.

[Before we proceed, please note that this is an opinion piece with no implications on ongoing storylines.]
CM Punk Or Bron Breakker, Who Is The True #1 Contender For The WWE World Heavyweight Championship
As it stands, the true #1 contender for the title is CM Punk, irrespective of Breakker’s actions.
While the Unpredictable Bada** made his motives clear, Punk deserves it considering his longstanding rivalry with The Visionary. While the storyline does get interesting with the involvement of Breakker, who till now was just Rollins’ lackey, WWE must be planning a parallel storyline to make the 27-year-old the true breakout star from the faction.
While many fans have complained that the faction broke up too early, it seems that WWE has just planted the seed for the former Intercontinental Champion’s rise, as immediately giving him a World Title shot and victory gives fans very little payoff, and makes the whole angle seem forced than organically playing out.
The possible way this story could play out is that Rollins and Punk have their title match at Survivor Series: War Games, where Breakker costs The Visionary the title and starts a singles feud with him. Also, it makes sense for him to take out Rollins, who is arguably the more formidable opponent, rather than an aging CM Punk.
Also, a singles feud will help establish Breakker as a main-eventer when he will eventually take on The Second City Saint on the Grandest Stage of Them All. WrestleMania 42, where he could have his crowning moment and truly be cemented as the future of the company.
