Vince Russo says he is backing a new professional wrestling company, but itâ€s not the one you might have heard about.
Russo was the subject of a rumor this week that suggested he was writing for the National Wrestling Alliance. The former WWF, WCW and TNA writer has not worked for a major wrestling promotion in several years, but that appeared to change due to landing a new gig with the NWA.
Russo has spoken out about that claim, not only revealing that itâ€s not true, but heâ€s now an investor in Juggalo Championship Wrestling, the promotion owned by the Insane Clown Posse.
“I hope you can now believe me about the Dirt Sheet Media. Led by the infallible @davemeltzerWON I have no idea where @nwa even came from,†Russo wrote on Twitter/X. “Not me. Of course, nobody even bothered to call me to ask. This is exactly what Iâ€ve been saying about Wresting Journalist for years Dave—-I told you the hair dye was starting to seep into your brain. I am now a proud INVESTOR in @jcwlunacy. You are about to see things youâ€d never thought youâ€d see on a Professional Wrestling Show!!! The Mamby-Pamby, Phone It In BS IS OVER!!!â€
Russo specifically took aim at Meltzer, who addressed the original rumor on his radio show. Meltzer claimed that Russo working for NWA didnâ€t matter and pointed out the promotionâ€s smaller presence in the pro wrestling landscape. He said that perhaps NWA owner Billy Corgan could sell networks on having Russo, who brought WWF and WCW to new heights in the Attitude Era, but didnâ€t see it mattering overall.

In November 2024, WWE announced the first group of WWE ID prospects, with former Wrestling Open Champion Bryce Donovan being one of them. Nearly a year later, Donovan’s time in the program and WWE has officially come to an end.
Donovan confirmed the news on X, writing, “Finale. I will no longer be with WWE ID or Evolve. Thanks for the good time everyone. Learned a lot especially from @TheRealXPac who’s the best coach anyone could ask for. I’ll let you know what’s happening next when I decide or maybe I won’t idk yet.”

As he continued his work across the independent wrestling circuit as a WWE ID prospect, Donovan also competed on “WWE EVOLVE,” which airs on Wednesday nights on Tubi. Donovan’s most recent “EVOLVE” appearance took place on October 15, when he unsuccessfully challenged Jackson Drake for the WWE EVOLVE Championship. In the same episode, Kendal Grey dethroned Kali Armstrong to become the brand new EVOLVE Women’s Champion. Donovan previously wrestled in the WWE ID Men’s Championship tournament, but fell short to the eventual winner Cappuccino Jones in the quarter finals.
Donovan’s departure from WWE marks the latest in a string of others dating back to last week when the likes of Kylie Rae and Zara Zakher also left the WWE ID program. Several other talents from “EVOLVE” and “WWE NXT” were also impacted by a wave of releases. Notable names in that batch include former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee and “EVOLVE” General Manager Stevie Turner. Like Donovan, it remains to be seen where their next destination in pro wrestling will be.

It was long reported that TKO was looking to launch a boxing league with help from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. Well, Paramount and TKO Group Holdings, Inc, announced today a long-term media rights agreement that will make Paramount+ the exclusive home of Zuffa Boxing across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.Â
Zuffa Boxing, the new professional boxing promotion launched by TKO and entertainment giant Sela, is led by a powerhouse team including UFC President and CEO Dana White, Saudi Boxing Federation President HE Turki Alalshikh, Sela CEO Dr. Rakan Alharthy, and WWE President Nick Khan.
Beginning in January 2026, Paramount+ will stream Zuffa Boxing events, starting with 12 live cards in its inaugural year and plans to expand in the future. Select events may also air on CBS and other Paramount platforms, bringing high-profile boxing to a wider audience.
Dana White has long talked about his desire to “fix” boxing by creating a structure that is more like the UFC, where the best fight the best, and there is one undisputed champion per weight class. Many in the boxing community have pushed back, stating that the sport is just fine while criticizing White’s stance on fighter pay and his attempt to amend the Ali Act, which protects boxers from exploitation.Â
White expressed his excitement about the partnership in the Paramount press release.
“I’m excited to bring great boxing events to a global audience. There are millions of boxing fans that will now be able to watch competitive fights with up-and-coming boxers as well as the biggest stars in the sport. Paramount will be the home for UFC and boxing fans to watch the greatest fights in combat sports.”
Further details, including fight schedules and the first event to stream on Paramount+, will be announced in the coming months.
TKO recently hit a new, all-time high following Zuffa Boxing’s promotional debut with the Canelo-Crawford fight.Â

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart will make his first-ever NFL start on Sunday when his New York Giants host the Los Angeles Chargers, and that reportedly has his teammates “fired up.”
Dianna Russini of The Athletic provided a breakdown behind the scenes after the Giants named Dart the starter over veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, who will now be the team’s backup.
“For Dart, the conversation went a step further. After FaceTiming his parents to share the news, he and Daboll sat down for a long film session Tuesday afternoon, breaking down Josh Allen’s highlights from Buffalo — Daboll once tutored Allen there — alongside some of Dart’s best plays from Ole Miss. The good news for the rookie is that the offense he ran in college has plenty of overlap with what Daboll runs now. They spent hours talking through it before hitting the field on Wednesday. ‘Dart’s a sponge,’ a Giants source said.
“And inside the Giants locker room, I’m told, they’re fired up. Several players on both sides of the ball, including team captains, reached out right away with calls and FaceTimes to let Dart know they’re behind him.”
‘”‘He has moxie. He has a legit chance of being great,’ another Giants person texted.”
It’s been a rough start for the 0-3 Giants, who began the year with a 21-6 loss to the Washington Commanders. The offense lit up the scoreboard in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, with Wilson throwing for 450 yards and three touchdowns. However, the defense didn’t perform well in a 40-37 overtime loss.
The offense reverted to its Week 1 form last Sunday in a 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. And with that, the Giants turned to Dart, the No. 25 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Dart was exceptional in the preseason, completing 32-of-47 passes for 372 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also showed off his wheels with 52 rushing yards and a touchdown on six carries.
That versatility should help spark some life into a Giants offense that didn’t show any in Weeks 1 and 3.
The 22-year-old was great against tough competition at Ole Miss, too. Last year, Dart completed 69.3 percent of his passes for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns and just six interceptions while rushing for 495 yards and three more scores.
Ultimately, Dart is being thrown into the fire. For starters, he’s being asked to rejuvenate a moribund franchise that’s lost 14 of its last 15 games. Secondly, he’s playing a stout 3-0 Chargers team that’s allowed the third-fewest points per game.
We’ll see how he meets the challenge soon enough at home. Kickoff at MetLife Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

A WWE legend has returned to a top promotion after being away for nine years.
WWE and TNA have forged an epic relationship that has seen both companies put on some exceptional television over the last few years. Many within the industry have hailed it as one of the best, especially leading into the Invasion angle at No Mercy. Stars from both companies have made it onto the different rosters, with WWE star Trick Williams becoming the TNA Champion and AJ Styles returning to the promotion after 11 years.
Another legend, Ken Anderson, aka Mr Kennedy, also returned to TNA after nine years.
Former WWE Star Ken Anderson Returned To TNA After 9 Years
The latest episode of TNA Impact saw Ken Anderson return to the ring after nine years. The star teamed up with TNA International Champion Steve Maclin to take on Frankie Kazarian and Jake Something.

Santino Marella isnâ€t just enjoying his time in TNA Wrestling—he sees it as the fastest-rising promotion in the game. In a world where WWE remains the top dog and AEW dominates headlines with Tony Khanâ€s billionaire backing, Marella believes itâ€s TNA thatâ€s truly leveling up. And heâ€s not holding back when it comes to making bold predictions.
During a conversation with Lucha Libre Online, Marella reflected on how far TNA has come, saying it wasnâ€t long ago that they were pulling in just a few hundred fans at shows in cities like Nashville and Toronto. But those days are behind them now. With bigger crowds and consistent sellouts, Marella believes Bound for Glory in Lowell, Massachusetts will only keep the momentum rolling.
“Yeah, itâ€s incredible — and people from TNAâ€s past are happy for us. The current locker room is ecstatic about the growth. When I came here, it wasnâ€t like this. Sometimes we were in Nashville or even Toronto with 350 to 500 people, but we believed in ourselves. Now weâ€ve got an audience size that feels right, and we deliver every time. Every time weâ€ve had a sold-out crowd, weâ€ve never missed. Weâ€ve never wasted an opportunity, and Lowell, Massachusetts, at Bound for Glory is going to be another one.â€
Marella then zoomed out to talk about the bigger picture in the wrestling world. While WWE is still far ahead of the pack, heâ€s confident that the number two spot is up for grabs—and he thinks TNA can grab it.
“Weâ€re going to capitalize on that audience and send a message to the wrestling world: weâ€re here, weâ€re knocking on the door — and you better look out, because once we get that TV deal, weâ€re number two. I know people say Tony Khan has lots of money — I get it. But the fans speak. The fans decide whoâ€s number one, number two, number three — not a bank account. WWE is number one, of course. Theyâ€re so far ahead weâ€ll never catch them in my lifetime. But number two? Thatâ€s definitely attainable. Number two is absolutely something we can do.â€
With reports that TNA is currently eyeing a $10 million media deal for a weekly live show, itâ€s clear the company isnâ€t sitting still. Theyâ€re moving with purpose—and Santino Marellaâ€s confidence may not be misplaced.
TNA might not have Tony Khanâ€s wallet, but theyâ€ve got the heart, the shows, and a loyal fanbase—and if that TV deal lands, the power rankings in pro wrestling might shift sooner than expected.

Leeds United bid farewell to long-serving striker Patrick Bamford during the summer transfer window, parting company with the experienced forward deemed surplus to requirements by first-team boss Daniel Farke.
Bamford, 32, is now on the cusp of completing a transfer to LaLiga side Getafe, according to reports in Spain.
The Madrid-based club are believed to have offered the striker a contract which is ready to be signed upon the completion of a medical.

Patrick Bamford earned international recognition for his Leeds form in 2021
Bamford spent seven years at Leeds, scoring 60 goals in just over 200 appearances. The striker’s importance waned during the latter period of his Elland Road stay, featuring 18 times during last season’s Championship title-winning season for the Whites.
He failed to hit the back of the net throughout 2024/25. However, Bamford is fondly remembered in West Yorkshire for his role in two promotions to the Premier League, as well as his 17-goal top flight campaign in 2020/21 under Marcelo Bielsa.

The one-cap England international is expected to join up with Jose Bordalas’ Getafe squad who currently sit eighth in Spain’s top flight.
Bamford will challenge the likes of Borja Mayoral and Adrian Liso for a place in Bordalas’ team, who are notoriously hard to beat.

Leeds man Mateo Joseph, who leapfrogged Bamford in the Elland Road pecking order last season, is currently on loan at Getafe’s LaLiga rivals Real Mallorca and the pair could be reunited on opposing sides later this season.
Due to the period of time Bamford has spent out of regular match action, it may take some time for the 32-year-old to get up to speed with his soon-to-be new club.

That said, the player is likely to have October 19 in mind as a date he will aim to be ready for when Real Madrid visit Estadio Coliseum.

Bamford’s soon-to-be boss Bordalas has previously drawn criticism for defending ex-Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, who spent 2023/24 on loan at Getafe.
“He is a free person, a footballer of a very high level and who arrives at Getafe with enormous enthusiasm, and we are obviously going to help him so that he recovers back to his best level,” Bordalas said upon signing the former England man.
“I have already commented what I had to comment. I can only speak on a football level. We all know the potential he has. He is a very young boy, he is still 21 years old and we can help him adapt to a situation.”
He also described Greenwood as a ‘great lad’ and ‘exemplary’ after he was allegedly insulted by Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.

Greenwood, now playing under Roberto De Zerbi at Olympique Marseille, was arrested back in 2022 after images and a voice note were posted online. The charges against him included attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behavior.
In February 2023, the United Kingdom’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced all charges against Greenwood had been dropped. The CPS stated the decision was made due to ‘the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light’, which left the prosecution no longer with a realistic prospect of conviction.

Andradeâ€s time with WWE has officially come to an end, though the former NXT Champion appears to be leaving without hard feelings—at least publicly. Taking to X, Andrade expressed his gratitude to WWE now that his second run with the company has concluded.
It wasn’t just X where Andrade shared his gratitude to WWE. Taking to Instagram, the former Superstar again shared that he appreciates all WWE has done for him.
Andrade’s profile was moved to WWE.com’s Alumni section, an act that left fans believing his time had ended. Fightful Select later confirmed the news, marking the end of Andrade’s second run, less than two years after his surprise comeback in the 2024 Menâ€s Royal Rumble match.
While Andradeâ€s public statement suggested no ill will toward WWE, reports indicate that the situation behind the scenes was more complicated. According to The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Andrade was “effectively released†by WWE in what was described as a non-mutual decision. The report also noted that Andrade had not been backstage at TV tapings for nearly a month, further signaling a disconnect between him and the company.
Andradeâ€s departure has already sparked reactions across the wrestling world. AEWâ€s MJF referenced him in a post on X while promoting a match against Mistico.

Ima be in Mexico beating the ever loving shit out of Mistico @CMLL_OFICIAL infront of all your broke ass country men.

With his WWE run over and his AEW tenure in the past, Andradeâ€s next move remains uncertain. Whether he returns to Mexico or pursues opportunities elsewhere, the future of the former NXT Champion will be closely watched.
