The showdown between the NFL’s two oldest active quarterbacks on Thursday Night Football had everyone hyped, including Pro Football Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.

Sanders hyped up the “battle of the OG’s!” on X as he was watching Flacco lead the Cincinnati Bengals to a thrilling 33-31 upset win over Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Even though there were plenty of jokes about the ages of the quarterbacks leading up to the game, including from some of their teammates, their head-to-head battled turned out to be, in the words of Coach Prime, good football.

Flacco, in particular, was incredible in his second start for the Bengals after being acquired from the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 7. He finished 31-of-47 for 342 yards and three touchdowns, along with arguably the most unexpected keeper on a read-option in NFL history.

Rodgers wasn’t as unflappable, throwing two interceptions, but he also 249 passing yards and four touchdowns. It was his second four-touchdown game of the season after having just one in the previous three years combined.

Sanders is probably happy to see Rodgers still playing since he is the last player currently in the NFL who was in the league during Prime’s final season. Rodgers’ rookie season in 2005 was the last year for Sanders.

The two legends did appear in the same game once when Rodgers relieved Brett Favre in the Baltimore Ravens’ 48-3 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 15. Sanders recorded the final interception of his career in that game, picking off Favre in the second quarter.
