WWE and TNA have moved forward with their working relationship in a major way this year. The recent historic showdown between The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz saw the legends take more than a few brutal bumps, and one veteran has just revealed how he suffered an injury.

D-Von Dudley and Bubba Ray Dudley officially retired after losing to Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy at TNA’s 21st Bound For Glory PPV, held on October 12 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA. The co-main event of the evening ended just under 16 minutes, and saw Matt and Jeff retain the TNA World Tag Team Championship and the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship in a Tables Match to make Team 3D’s retirement official.

Brother Devon recently appeared on the Duke Loves Rasslin podcast and revealed that he suffered a shoulder injury during the match at Bound For Glory, which was billed as One Final Table as it took place 25 years after Matt and Jeff defeated D-Von and Bubba Ray in the first-ever Tag Team Tables Match at the 2000 WWE Royal Rumble.

Jeff Hardy previously revealed how he suffered a cut on the back of his head while protecting D-Von Dudley on a ladder bump at TNA Bound For Glory. Regarding D-Von’s shoulder injury, he recalled how the unfortunate incident occurred when he and the wrestler also known as Bully Ray delivered a 3D in the first minute of the brutal match, while trying to protect Matt Hardy.

D-Von noted that he was hurting so bad he couldn’t move his arm the next day.

“I actually jarred my shoulder coming down on the 3D in the first 30 seconds of the match. I jarred my shoulder trying to protect Matt instead of just falling flat on my back. I went to my side and came down on my elbow, which shot up into my shoulder so badly that the next day I couldnâ€t move my arm,” D-Von Dudley said.

The Dudleyz retired as one of the most-decorated tag teams in wrestling history, with 10 championship reigns in WWE, 3 in TNA, 2 in NJPW, and 8 in ECW, among other title wins in smaller promotions. The 2014 TNA Hall of Famers, who are the inaugural World Tag Team Champions, were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

It was just four months ago that R-Truth became the biggest story in pro wrestling after his WWE contract expired, only for the promotion to re-sign him just days later after fan uproar. But just when it appeared WWE was set to go all the way in repackaging Truth under his real name, Ron Killings, and with a more serious persona, the character quickly fizzled out. Only a few weeks later, Truth reverted back to his more comedic persona, suggesting plans were scrapped.Â

But according to Truth during an interview with CBS Sports, nothing went array with the creative plans.

“It went where it was supposed to,” Truth said. “Ron Killings created R-Truth. Those hundreds of millions of fans who spoke and up-roared. They wanted R-Truth back. Ron Killings was the rebellious one who spoke up for R-Truth.”

At the same time, Truth also seemed to suggest that the character revert was brought on by fans wanting R-Truth more than they wanted Ron Killings. He also implied that John Cena turning back babyface after his heel run played a role.

“Ron Killings has been around for years, but people had never come together in lockstep like that,” Truth said. “They did that for R-Truth. You feel me? I wanted Ron Killings to go where he was supposed to go. He made a statement; he had eyes on him. When John Cena came back, R-Truth came back. Ron Killings was the cavalry.”

Truth then made a rather shocking statement, stating that, had he continued on with his serious persona, it wouldn’t have been right towards the fans, even going as far to say such a decision would’ve been “selfish.”

“I think [Ron Killings] was a selfish-type deal, more of a selfish move,” Truth said. “I had more than 100 million views that wanted R-Truth. If numbers are real, that was the power of numbers.”

Anthony Santander’s postseason for the Toronto Blue Jays ended Thursday, with Major League Baseball approving a roster substitution for the ailing outfielder.

Santander has been battling a back injury that led to him being scratched from Game 2 of the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners. He started in right field in Game 3, but was replaced after two at-bats in Toronto’s eventual 13-4 road win that cut its series deficit to 2-1.

MLB’s announcement came a little over an hour before Game 4 on Thursday night in Seattle.

The league said Dr. Gary Green, its medical director, confirmed Santander’s injury “after a full review of the medical information.” He was replaced by Joey Loperfido on Toronto’s roster.

By rule, Santander can’t return for the ALCS or the subsequent series if the Blue Jays advance, meaning he’s ineligible to play in the World Series.

Santander signed a five-year, $92.5 million contract with Toronto last offseason but missed almost four months because of a left shoulder injury. The 2024 All-Star hit .175 with 6 home runs and 18 RBIs in 54 games.

He was hitting .200 (3 for 15) with no homers, 2 RBIs and 5 strikeouts in five games this postseason.

“We would obviously love to have him in there, but it’s part of the game, part of this point of the season,” Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman said. “He has really battled back to even get back.”

Loperfido, 26, hit .333 with four homers and 14 RBIs in 96 at-bats over 41 games for Toronto this year while playing both corner outfield positions. The left-handed hitter had not been active for the postseason.

When your ball settles deep in the rough, it’s easy to feel like there’s no good way to make solid contact. You swing harder, but the club still seems to grab and twist in the grass.

According to GOLFTEC’s Josh Troyer, that’s because the problem isn’t a lack of swing speed — it has to do with your angle of attack.

“Players with steeper angles of attack tend to handle the rough better,” Troyer says. “It allows the club to come down on the ball more directly, instead of skimming through the grass too early.”

That concept closely ties to something Troyer (and all GOLFTEC teachers) harp on daily: hip sway. This is the manner in which your hips move toward the target during the downswing. Most skilled players shift their hips about six and a half inches toward the target from the top of the backswing to the finish, which helps control two key things:

1. Low point — where the club meets the ground.
2. Swing direction — the path the club travels through impact.

“Good players move their hips enough toward the target so they can hit the ground in the right spot and on the correct path,” Troyer explains. “Bad golfers either don’t move forward enough, or they stay too far back. That’s when the club path gets out of whack — too far in-to-out or too steep and down.”

Here’s where it gets interesting: golfers who move their hips too far toward the target often produce an in-to-out path that’s too extreme, leading to a shallow angle of attack. That’s the kind of swing that sweeps across the turf rather than driving through it — and it’s a killer in thick grass.

“When you start hitting out of thicker rough, it becomes really hard to get clean contact with a shallow attack angle,” Troyer says. “You see a lot of players who hit big draws really struggle from the rough because their club gets too close to the ground too early — the grass grabs it, and they can’t get through to the ball.”

That’s why Tour players often talk about trying to hit fades or cuts when they’re in gnarly lies. Those shot shapes naturally promote a steeper angle of attack — exactly what you want when you need to chop the ball out cleanly.

“They might not even know why it works,” Troyer says. “But when you hit a fade, your club’s coming down a little steeper. It’s easier to get through the grass and make solid contact.”

So next time your ball buries in the rough, don’t just swing harder. Adjust your setup and your thought process: aim slightly left, feel like you’re hitting a soft cut and let the club descend a bit more steeply. You’ll catch the ball cleaner — and give yourself a much better chance at hitting a pure iron onto the green.

AJ Styles has spoken out after seeing Frankie Kazarian break out one of his signature moves during Bound For Glory 2025.

The October 12 pay-per-view from the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts, delivered plenty of big moments, including the unprecedented ending of the Call Your Shot gauntlet match where Kazarian and Nic Nemeth were declared co-winners.

During the gauntlet, Kazarian caught Steve Maclin with a Pele Kick that instantly reminded fans of Styles†classic offense. The Phenomenal One noticed the move and dropped his reaction on Twitter with a short but pointed response, “ðŸ˜â€

Kazarian followed up the Pele Kick with an Angel Wings, the trademark of Christopher Daniels. The timing drew even more attention since Styles himself had used an Angel Wings against John Cena at WWE Crown Jewel in their own throwback-heavy clash.

While Bound For Gloryâ€s main event saw Mike Santana defeat Trick Williams to win the TNA World Championship, Kazarianâ€s decision to pull out a move made famous by Styles added an extra layer of buzz to the show. The NBA season is less than two weeks away and Russell Westbrook remains unsigned, but the veteran point guard reportedly isn’t considering playing overseas just yet.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Westbrook has had “zero discussion” about gauging interest from teams abroad, but “securing his next NBA opportunity has been the focus for Westbrook’s camp.”

Westbrook, 36, spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Denver Nuggets, where he played a key role off the bench as he put up 13.3 points, 6.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game.

He had the chance to return to Denver for the 2025-26 season, but instead chose not to exercise his $3.5 million contract option and entered free agency. Former NBA player Danny Green said on his podcast last week that Westbrook declined his player option because the Nuggets didn’t plan to include him in the rotation.

There was some reported interest in Westbrook early this offseason as teams looked for point guards, but many of those teams have since filled those roles. One team reportedly is still eyeing him, however.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported last week that “there is strong mutual interest between” the Sacramento Kings and Westbrook, which could give him a place to call home before the start of the season.

But even if Westbrook goes unsigned through the start of the season, teams will inevitably need a point guard once injuries begin taking a toll, so the odds that Westbrook isn’t in the NBA at some point this year seem slim.

Former Manchester United youth prospect Demetri Mitchell has claimed he used AI platform ChatGPT when negotiating his move to League one side Leyton Orient, saying that the software has been his “best agent to date.”

Mitchell began his career at Old Trafford, going on to make one league appearance for the club before spells at Hearts, Blackpool, Hibernian and Exeter City.

This summer, the 28-year-old left Exeter to join Orient on a free transfer and has said he navigated the move without an agent, a largely unprecedented move in professional football.

“They [Leyton Orient] sent me an offer, and I started using ChatGPT, asking it how to negotiate a deal, and what to say in it,” Mitchell said on the From My Left podcast.

“This is what I was on last season, moving to London, cost of living, missus is gonna move down with me, my little one. I did think I was worth a little bit more as well, but you don’t want to be like that, ‘Oh, yeah I think I should be worth an X amount.’

“And then, also because I didn’t use the agent, I get that [agent fee] as a signing-on fee. [An] agent might have got me a couple hundred pound more, because in these deals there’s not loads of money going on, it’s not big, big amounts.

“So the agent might have got me a couple hundred more, and then the percent that I would have to pay them, the difference, is going to be eaten up anyway.”

Mitchell also launched a wider critique on agents in football and said that the options for representation open to lower-league footballers leaves a lot to be desired.

“There’s three types of agents,” he said.

“There’s the agent that works for an agency, who’s just getting a salary, then you got agent number two, who works for a big agency and they’re trying to sign young, up-and-coming prospects and then once you’re not one of them prospects anymore, they’re not interested.

“And then there’s agent number three, the one that’s got their own business, [that are] just money-hungry … So they just want to get moves anywhere and anywhere fast.

“When you’re in the lower leagues, it’s difficult to get a good agent, because that’s all you’ve got to work with.”

Mitchell has played for England youth teams ranging from the Under-16s to U20s and made the preliminary 60-man squad for Jamaica ahead of the 2025 Gold Cup.

He has made eight appearances at Brisbane Road this season but is yet to get his first goal for the club.
