The New York Knicks ruled out Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson on Tuesday for their season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In addition, All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns was downgraded to doubtful on Wednesday afternoon.
Hart, who is dealing with lumbar spasms, has been sidelined since playing seven minutes in the preseason opener against the Philadelphia 76ers in Abu Dhabi almost three weeks ago. Robinson, who is listed out due to left ankle injury management, has been out since playing in the first half of New York’s preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 9.

“Still the same,” Knicks coach Mike Brown told reporters after practice Tuesday. “Neither one practiced today, but we’re going to keep monitoring them, and I’ll get with the medical staff and we’ll see what we’re going to do.”
Brown has repeatedly said that Robinson is not injured; the Knicks have said he has been out for “workload management” since the middle of last week.
“Really, it’s load management,” Brown said Tuesday. “Which means that, obviously, if we deemed it necessary, could he possibly go? Yeah, he could possibly go.
“He missed a lot of games last year so we want to be cautious going forward with him. That’s about the extent of it right there.”
The Cavaliers, who along with the Knicks are expected to challenge for the Eastern Conference title this season, will be without Darius Garland (toe) and Max Strus (foot). De’Andre Hunter was questionable with a right knee contusion.
PERTH, AUSTRALIA – OCTOBER 19: Mitchell Starc of Australia reacts while players walk from the field as rain halts play during game one of the One Day International series between Australia and India at Perth Stadium on October 19, 2025 in Perth, Australia. (Photo by Paul Kane/Getty Images) In the first ODI between Australia and India, Mitchell Starc set up Virat Kohli beautifully and dismissed him for an eight-ball duck, but that wasnâ€t the highlight of his spell. Instead, it was a delivery to Rohit Sharma that took the internet by storm — Starcâ€s very first ball to the Indian skipper was clocked at a staggering 176.5 kmph, possibly the fastest ever recorded in ODI history. The speed gun graphic displayed a staggering 176.5 kph (109 mph), but it was clearly an error. Thankfully, other broadcasters†graphics later confirmed the actual speed to be 140.8 kph (just over 87 mph) — right around Starcâ€s usual pace.
Arshdeep Singh Press Conference After IND vs AUS 1st ODI: Praises Captain Gill, Backs Virat Kohli
Indian veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were on the receiving end after their underwhelming show in the first ODI of the three-match series against Australia. The duo walked out to bat in Perth after seven months. The veterans, who returned to international cricket for the first time since Indiaâ€s victory at the Champions Trophy earlier this March, gave plenty of reasons for fans and experts to feel disappointed with their rough show.
Rohit Sharma (Screengrab)
Opening the innings after being put to bat first, Rohit scored only eight runs off 14 balls before Josh Hazlewood dismissed him. After the former Indian captainâ€s disappointing innings, all eyes were on Kohli, as fans hoped he would help India recover after an early loss. However, Kohli also failed to deliver and was dismissed cheaply for an eight-ball duck. It was the first time Kohli had ever been dismissed for no score in ODI cricket in Australia.

What do you think of Mitchell Starc’s bowling performance in the first ODI?
“Never easy when you lose three wickets in the powerplay, youâ€re always trying to play catch-up. There were a lot of learnings and positives as well,†said Gill after the match. This was Indiaâ€s first defeat in ODIs in 2025, bringing their run of eight successive wins to an end.
Bound For Glorywas a time of celebration for the entire TNA Wrestling roster. For McKenzie Mitchell, it was a time to reflect on the companyâ€s rollercoaster journey. Her start into the business came through a three-year stint with the company. Earlier this year she returned home back in the role of ring announcer. Certainly, things like introducing the Hardy Boyz and Team 3D in their “One Final Table†will be a career highlight.
“Standing in the ring at Bound For Glory in Boston with nearly 8,000 people. Sometimes you donâ€t take the moment to stop and truly look around and look at what is happening before your eyes. For me, it was a moment to soak everything in,†Mitchell said. “You talk about the ‘One Final Table†match with the Hardyz and Dudleys. That is the last time those two iconic tag teams will be in the ring together.
“I was lucky to be a smart part of that. I told Bubba this the other day that I wanted to really do them justice of their careers and everything theyâ€ve done putting their bodies on the line year after year. For me, I was very lucky. I was very honored to be a part of that. Again, in wrestling because it moves so quickly…For Bound For Glory, before I did the announcement for the Dudleys and the Hardyz, I just stopped and looked around and saw everyone on their feet for this moment. It was really an opportunity to pay respect to them. It was so cool I was just a small part.â€
Itâ€s a great time to be a pro wrestling fan in this landscape of collaboration. Among those partnerships has been an unheard of one between TNA and WWEâ€s NXT brand. The two sides have been sharing talent, meshing, and overall working together. So much so that Mitchell was able to go back to her old stomping grounds at the WWE Performance Center where she helped ring announce for the NXT x TNA ‘Showdown†special. An added bonus was getting to see her husband, voice of NXT Vic Joseph, at work.
“Obviously, I started my career at TNA for three or four years of my life. I remember back then, in my resume reel I was submitting to WWE to get hired by WWE, it was almost this feeling that Iâ€m this TNA girl,†Mitchell recalled. “I think back then…I applied on the website, WWECareers.com. I also made a new resume reel that was things that were outside of professional wrestling, that wasnâ€t just TNA wrestling. I didnâ€t know that for a fact, but it kind of felt like it was hurting my chances of being able to make the transition to WWE. I went out and filmed other things to show my versatility and what I could do as a broadcaster.
“Now you fast forward to this partnership, something we thought would never happen because they were separate brands. You were either TNA or WWE. Now to see this seamless blend of this partnership. I think itâ€s something the fans can appreciate. True TNA diehard fans are getting their feel. WWE fans are getting their feel. These are matches you would never have thought would happen. Jeâ€Von Evans and Leon Slater, what in the world? The talent these two have in the ring is really cool. Whatâ€s really awesome, to put it in a one-word way, but itâ€s awesome to see the growth that has been had and is still to come. Talking about working with my husband, itâ€s almost like this full-circle moment. Starting in TNA, going to WWE, and going back to TNA and still doing this handshake moment is really awesome for me.â€
Mitchell loves wearing many hats. Her skillset has taken her from ring announcing to broadcasting to interviewing. However, one part of the pro wrestling show we havenâ€t seen is an actual in-ring performer. Will that ever happen?
“I have never taken a bump,†Mitchell answered. “In all of my years in professional wrestling, Iâ€ve been in wrestling for 10 years, Iâ€ve never taken a bump. Now something you say in wrestling is never say never. I always have to say never say never. I would like to take one kind of bump, whether itâ€s in a match or just behind the scenes just so when I have kids one day I can say, ‘your mom did that one time and it hurt really, really bad.†I think I would want to because I would then be able to relate what these athletes do week in and week out, putting their body on the line.
“I have been approached several times about having the match. For me it’s a matter of, I think Iâ€m a better talker than I am wrestler or would-be wrestler. I did grow up an athlete. I was a cheerleader. I was a dancer. I played volleyball, so I was athletic growing up. If the right opportunity would present itself, maybe I would have my Michael Cole moment at WrestleMania. We all remember that moment. Never say never, but it would have to be the right opportunity for me.â€
Though she might be a little too busy these days to buckle down for training. After all Mitchell is a mogul in the making. Not only does she have her commitments to TNA, but she is a business owner and brand boss within the jewelry industry. The entrepreneur owns a Headline by MM online store, as well as a formal store in Nashville. For Mitchell, the business venture follows in the footsteps of her family, which spans more than 75 years in the jewelry business. Her Drippin collection took off thanks to those who have worn custom pieces from Seth Rollins to Trick Williams. Jeff Hardy even sported a piece of Mitchellâ€s collection during Bound For Glory. She also has some of country musicâ€s biggest names like Sarah Evans and Lainey Wilson wearing her jewelry.
“I wanted it to be the perfect blend within my professional life and personal life kind of creating this moment coming together,†she said. “…It has snowballed, and Iâ€m so excited to see where we go with this and how we can build this dream.â€
One person who has yet to be a customer is her own husband. Joseph does support the wife, including the promotion of her upcoming book “Threads of Triumph Professional Wrestling’s Most Iconic Looks.â€However, McKenzie admits he owns zero Headline by MM products.
“I say this to my husband all the time. I know a thing or two about fashion, why do you not want to just listen to me,†she explained. “Put on a necklace, a lapel pin, there are so many things we can do. My husband is very set in his ways, and so weâ€re working on it. The other day we were at Disney with the Garganos, and Johnny was wearing a nice bracelet. I said, ‘See, Johnny is wearing a bracelet. Why canâ€t you wear a bracelet?†Shawn Michaels was wearing a nice watch the other day. I said, ‘See, Shawn is wearing a nice watch.â€
“This is how it goes. Maybe, maybe heâ€ll start wearing something. But to keep it simple, he owns zero pieces. It is one of those things too when you’re growing up and your mom says you should wear this. And you think, ‘mom thatâ€s a dumb idea.†Itâ€s similar. The fact he still doesn’t believe I know what I’m talking about. Maybe one day heâ€ll realize, ‘hey, maybe my wife does know what she is talking about.â€â€

The series marks the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who will be playing for the first time in the Indian jersey since the ICC Champions Trophy Final earlier this year. (AFP Photo) NEW DELHI: Ahead of the first ODI against India, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh expressed hope that Indiaâ€s legendary duo, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, donâ€t go overboard with their performances in the three-match series starting October 19. The series marks the return of Rohit and Virat, two of Indiaâ€s biggest stars, who will be playing for the first time in the Indian jersey since the ICC Champions Trophy Final earlier this year.Reflecting on his experiences facing Kohli and Rohit throughout his career, Marsh noted that the series presents a unique opportunity for Australian fans to witness the brilliance of the two legends.
Madness for Team India in Australia 1,75,000 tickets sold, craze for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
“I had the privilege of playing against them quite a lot through the journey. They are obviously legends of the game. Virat, especially in this white-ball format, is the greatest chaser ever. I think you can see why the ticket sales are so high and why a lot of people are coming to watch them. And if it is their last time on Australian soil, I hope they enjoy it and I hope people can witness, not too much great cricket from them, but witness two of the greats playing in Australia,†Marsh told the media.Since India last toured Australia for a bilateral series before the 2023 ODI World Cup, Rohit and Virat have been in sensational form.Rohit has played 23 ODIs in this period, scoring 1,137 runs at an average of 49.43 and a strike rate of 123.45, including two centuries and seven fifties. In Indiaâ€s unbeaten ICC Champions Trophy run, he scored 180 runs in five innings, including a match-winning 76 in the final against New Zealand.Virat, meanwhile, has accumulated 1,154 runs in 22 matches since then, averaging 64.11. He has struck four centuries and nine fifties, with a highest score of 117 and a strike rate of 88.56, continuing to prove why he is one of the finest white-ball batsmen in the world.

What a different a year can make.
Following his T-33 finish at last year’s Korn Ferry Tour Championship, Mitchell Meissner hopped in his rental car and drove two hours from French Lick, Indiana, to Indianapolis. It was there that he met with a wrist surgeon, and five days later he was undergoing a second procedure on his right wrist in three years.
Now, he’s on the cusp of earning his first PGA Tour card, as he enters this week’s KFT playoff finale at Pete Dye Golf Course ranked No. 21 in points, just one spot out of the graduation cutoff.
“I’m trying to have a lot of gratitude being in the position that I am,†Meissner said on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old Meissner, whose younger brother, Mac, competes on the PGA Tour, wasn’t always planning on a career in professional golf. Plagued by the putting yips while in college at Rice, he spent the fall of his senior year lining up a consulting job with Accenture in Dallas. But that winter, he tried one last putting experiment – the righty grabbed and left-handed putter and the putts began dropping – and the decision reignited his game. He’s putted from the opposite side ever since.
Meissner’s pro breakthrough came on PGA Tour Latinoamerica in 2022, as he finished second three times to help lock up his KFT card. Later that year, however, Meissner was playing a boxing game at a bar when one punch ruptured his ECU tendon, requiring surgery.
After his second wrist operation last year, Meissner knew not to rush back like he did the first time. But he also couldn’t afford to wait too long. His mid-October surgery was the same procedure as Jordan Spieth, who was out from September to February.
“When you’re on the PGA Tour in his position, you are probably in a position where you can wait a little longer,†Meissner said. “When you’re on the Korn Ferry Tour and not getting paid when you’re not playing, you have to rush back a little bit.â€
Not that Meissner didn’t expedite things smartly. After his surgery, his mom drove him back home to San Antonio. They made a pit stop in Kansas City to watch his sister perform in a ballet rendition of Alice in Wonderland; with Meissner on pain killers, one could imagine the experience. A week later, he couldn’t fit his casted arm in his suit jacket for his cousin’s wedding, where he was required to read a passage during the ceremony.
By December, Meissner was hitting golf shots, and when the KFT season started in the Bahamas in January, Meissner teed it up and finished T-39. He followed with three straight finishes of T-11 or better to build a nice, early cushion in the standings.
In July, Meissner was among the KFT pros to pledge money for every birdie made to victims of the devastating flooding in Kerrville, Texas. Meissner grew up attending and working at Laity Lodge, a Christian camp less than an hour from Camp Mystic, where 27 campers and counselors died in the flooding. While tying for ninth at the NV5 Invitational, his last tournament of the pledge, Meissner birdied the last hole to end the week with 25 birdies and an eagle (27 shots gained). The event ended on July 27 as well.
“That was pretty poetic,†said Meissner, who still wears a green ribbon on his hat to honor the lives lost. “That was one of the first times where something so worldly and very tragic happened that really affected me. I was really devastated.â€
Meissner hasn’t finished better than T-22 since that tournament, missing three of six cuts in the process. He’s had to lean on the putter more as his usually elite ball-striking and distance control has waned.
While he’s slipped from No. 11 in points to begin August to now just outside the bubble, Meissner will also lean on his faith.
If he’s supposed to be on the PGA Tour in 2026, he will be.
But he’ll be grateful no matter the outcome on Sunday.

SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley dissects the latestKnicksnews ahead of their 2025-26 season opener and answers a reader’s question on the team…
Deuces Wild
Miles McBride looks like he’s ready for the regular season. He scored a team-high 12 points on seven shots in 21 minutes during the Knicks’ preseason win over the Sixers in Abu Dhabi. He was active on both ends of the floor, finishing with three steals and five rebounds (two offensive).
McBride hit two of his four three-point attempts and looked comfortable and confident with the ball in his hands. Obviously, you shouldn’t make too much of what you see in preseason. But his play is worth watching because of the roster decisions ahead for the Knicks.
If the Knicks want to keep both Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon on the roster, they would have to trade a player. The trade is necessary because they need to create enough room under the second apron to keep both players.
Trades involving McBride, Pacome Dadiet or Tyler Kolek are the most direct paths to shedding that salary (though if the Knicks traded Kolek, kept both veterans and made no other trades, they would not be able to sign another veteran during the season).
I’d still expect the Knicks to let things play out during camp/preseason before they make a move to keep both Brogdon and Shamet. But if I’m placing a bet at the start of the preseason, I’m still betting that both Brodgon and Shamet – if healthy- are on the regular season roster. This Knicks team has a great opportunity to be playing into June. That’s why I think they’ll ultimately go with veteran depth, in Brogdon and Shamet.
So, who would they trade to make room for the vets? Moving McBride would get the job done, but I’d be surprised if New York chose to move him amid the roster crunch. The Knicks really value McBride and key stakeholders believe that they need the fifth-year guard on the roster in order to reach their goals.
Opposing teams are actually hoping that the Knicks make McBride available. The 25-year-old is in the second year of a three-year, $13 million extension. He’s valued highly by multiple teams around the league. His production, age and contract situation are all attractive. The Knicks also value him highly and have not been entertaining offers to trade at this point, per people familiar with the matter.
Starting Mitch
Knicks head coach Mike Brown started Robinson at center in the preseason opener and he looked good. He disrupted things on defense and finished with five offensive rebounds in 18 minutes. He had 16 rebounds overall (though it should be noted that the Sixers shot below 34 percent from the field in the first half).
Still, it had to be encouraging for the Knicks to see Robinson on the floor and productive in the preseason. He missed most of the regular season last year while recovering from offseason surgery. When healthy, Robinson has a clear impact on the game. If the Knicks start Robinson alongside Karl-Anthony Towns in the regular season, it will be a significant change from last season.
Last year, the Knicks stuck with a starting five of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Towns for most of the season. They inserted Robinson into the starting lineup midway through their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Pacers.
Robinson is also in the final year of his current contract. If healthy, he will get significant offers in free agency next summer. The Knicks can sign him to an extension during the season. The last time he was extension eligible, Robinson entered free agency and was ultimately re-signed by the Knicks.
I don’t think the lack of an extension indicates that the Knicks don’t value Robinson. The club sent at least one member of their coaching staff to work with Robinson on-site in the offseason.
Do u have concerns Brown may be trying to a put a square peg in a round hole. They may not be athletic enough to succeed w/that tempo. Don Nelson tried something similar in 97 & it ended quickly & badly. Remember? Got to have the right personnel for that style? – @JeffGlotzer
This is an interesting point and it’s something that an opposing front office brought up recently. They wondered if the Knicks had the personnel to play fast. Obviously, Brown wants to push the pace. It will be interesting to see if this team is actually equipped to play fast or if Brown needs to adjust his expectations on pace of play.
