World No 1 Matt Hauser has won the triathlonâ€s world championship series in Wollongong, ending a 15-year drought for Australia.

Two-time Olympian Hauser never relented across Sundayâ€s 1.5km swim, 40km cycle, and 10km run event and won gold by a monster 34 seconds on home soil.

The 27-year-old was cheered home by a raucous crowd and finished the gruelling Wollongong course in one hour 42.42 minutes.

Spainâ€s David Cantero Del Campo claimed silver, while Italian Alessio Crociani was a further seven seconds behind in third.

Hauser, in tears at the finish line, joins Emma Moffatt as the only Australians to win an Olympic-distance world title since the championship became a series in 2009.

The 27-year-old is the first Australian man to win the world series, after Pete Robertson won in 2005 when the world title was decided by a one-off race.

Luke Willian was Australiaâ€s next best male on Sunday, finishing 16th out of the 52 athletes.

Hauserâ€s biggest threat Miguel Hidalgo, ranked second in the series, was fourth.

Germanyâ€s Lisa Tertsch triumphed in the womenâ€s final as reigning Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand failed to finish.

Tertsch finished the race in one hour 56.50 minutes to win her maiden crown.

Italyâ€s Lisa Seregni finished 14 seconds behind, while Franceâ€s Emma Lombardi was a further 12 seconds adrift to claim bronze.

The womenâ€s series had shaped as a two-horse race between defending champion Beaugrand and Beth Potter, who had entered as equal series leaders on 2925 points.

But a struggling Beaugrand began to tumble down the order early in the run, before Great Britainâ€s Potter dropped out of contention on lap three of four.

While Beaugrand did not finish the Olympic distance course and dropped to seventh in the standings, Potter finished 16th and is third overall.

Sophie Linn was Australiaâ€s best female and finished 18th out of 39 starters, ahead of teammate Emma Jeffcoat in 29th.

Earlier on Sunday, Lauren Parker clinched another medal after Australia finished second in the Para Mixed Relay, with the USA taking gold.

After claiming her fifth paratriathlon world title the day before, Parker combined with Jack Howell, Jeremy Peacock and Maggie Sandles – with guide Lauren Sprague – to win silver ahead of Brazil.

Matt and Jeff Hardyâ€s TNA run has been one of the companyâ€s biggest draws since their return last year—but recent reports raised questions about their future. With their contracts reportedly set to expire this fall, Matt Hardy has finally addressed where things stand.

Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt responded to the rumors that he and Jeff were nearing the end of their current TNA deals. While he didnâ€t confirm anything outright, Matt strongly hinted that a new agreement might already be in place—just not a long-term one.

“We may have re-signed already — who knows? I donâ€t know if Iâ€d say 10 years though. I donâ€t think you could talk me into that unless youâ€re giving me that Saudi Arabia money. We might just squeeze in a couple years instead. Thatâ€s kind of what weâ€ve talked about and what weâ€re doing.â€

The line about “Saudi Arabia money†was clearly a joke, but it drove home the point that the Hardys are not interested in signing massive multi-year deals at this stage in their careers. Instead, theyâ€re looking to keep things flexible while still contributing meaningfully to the TNA brand.

Mattâ€s comments suggest that both he and Jeff want to stick around, but on terms that allow them creative freedom and space to manage their schedules and health. Considering Jeff recently suffered a head injury at Bound For Glory, shorter-term deals might be the right call for both brothers.

So while thereâ€s still no official confirmation from TNA, all signs point to the Hardys staying put—for now.

Matt Hardy just got emotional—and rightfully so. On October 15, 2025, he marked 33 years since he and Jeff Hardy first entered the world of professional wrestling, and he took to Twitter to lay it all out.

Sharing a powerful before-and-after photo of the Hardy Boyz—from their very first promo pic in 1992 to their latest defense at TNA Bound For Glory—Matt opened up about the surreal journey he and his brother have taken from their hometown in Cameron, North Carolina, to becoming wrestling legends.

“If you told young 1992 us we would experience all the success we have, we wouldnâ€t have believed it.â€

He didnâ€t stop there. Matt poured his heart out, thanking the fans, TNA, and a higher power for keeping him and Jeff going all these years.

“Grateful for our loyal & dieHARDY fanbase. Grateful for the opportunities weâ€ve earned & been given. Grateful to God weâ€re as healthy as we are after all the punishment weâ€ve put our bodies thru.â€

Matt also mentioned how proud he is that their work has inspired generations of wrestlers and fans. Itâ€s clear this milestone isnâ€t just about titles or longevity—itâ€s about impact.

“Grateful weâ€ve been able to inspire multiple generations.â€

He wrapped it up with a thank you to the fans whoâ€ve supported them since day one, saying their journey has been nothing short of a dream come true.

“Thank you for letting these 2 kids from Cameron, NC live their childhood dreams & thrive in life. We are both SO blessed. With that said, itâ€s time to go to work in year number 34.â€

At TNA Bound For Glory, The Hardys Boyz defeated Bully Ray and D-Von Dudley in a brutal Tables Match to retain both the TNA and NXT World Tag Team Championships, ending their epic rivalry in an emotional showdown.

Following the match, both teams showed respect by embracing in the ring. In a touching moment, Bully Ray and D-Von removed their boots and handed them to The Hardys, symbolizing the official retirement of The Dudleys.

Bully Ray has announced that his upcoming event at Jimmyâ€s Famous Seafood in Baltimore will now serve as his official “retirement party.†Meanwhile, Matt Hardy has opened up about The Hardy Boyzâ€s historic and emotional victory over The Dudleys.

He shared his reaction on X, formerly known as Twitter, reflecting on the emotional moment when The Hardys put Bully Ray through the table. The Tennessee Titans need a new head coach after they announced Monday they fired Brian Callahan, and they reportedly have their eyes on two potential candidates.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith are “a couple names to watch” in the early stages of the process.

That Tennessee would be looking at offensive coaches comes as no surprise.

After all, it selected Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft. His ability to live up to expectations and become a franchise quarterback will go a long way toward determining how successful the Titans are in the immediate future, so they will want to hire a coach who could help maximize his ability.

Yet Nagy and Smith don’t exactly have long track records of success as head coaches.

Nagy went 12-4 as the Coach of the Year in his first season with the Chicago Bears in 2018 but then went 22-27 during the next three seasons. His play-calling was consistently questioned during those last three years, which was notable since he was hired as an offensive coach.

As for Smith, he went 21-30 during his three seasons as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2021 through 2023. His offense finished 26th in the league scoring in two of those three seasons and 15th in the other, which raised concerns since he was an offensive coach.

This is also Smith’s second season as the offensive coordinator for the Steelers, and the AFC North team was 23rd in yards last year and sits in 29th in the early going this year.

Smith is at least a familiar name for the Titans, as he was their offensive coordinator for two seasons in 2019 and 2020. That is also when he found the most success, as the offense finished in the top 10 in the league in scoring in each of those two years.

Tennessee is sure to conduct a wide-ranging search and could very well wait until the season ends and more candidates emerge. But Smith and Nagy are early names to watch as the AFC South team searches for the coach to pair with Ward.

Following their historic and emotional victory over their legendary rivals, Team 3D, at the TNA Bound For Glory pay-per-view, Matt Hardy has shared his thoughts on the match and the shocking post-match retirement ceremony. The Hardys defeated Bully Ray and D-Von Dudley in a brutal Tables Match to retain both the TNA and NXT World Tag Team Championships, bringing an end to their 27-year rivalry.

Speaking in a post-show interview, Matt Hardy discussed his confidence going into the match, but also his genuine shock at what transpired after the bell.

“I knew we were going to go to war with Team 3D, I was confident we would beat Team 3D. Weâ€ve been on an absolute regular grind, weâ€re doing well for ourselves, especially at our age. Weâ€re both very healthy, very physically fit. Those guys havenâ€t done this in a while, so I thought we would be able to pull off the win tonight and get that W, establish ourselves as the greater of the two teams. They came out looking for a knockout, no doubt, 3Ds right off the jump, right out of the gate. But what I was shocked about was that when the match ended, they took off their boots. They called it a career, I did not expect that. And they gave us their boots, which was the ultimate sign of respect.â€

Hardy also reflected on what has been one of the most successful and decorated weeks of his entire career, in which The Hardy Boyz captured three different sets of tag team championships.

“What a week. We became the NXT Tag Team Champions, we became House Of Glory Tag Team Champions, and then we went on to retire Team 3D, the Dudley Boyz, our biggest nemesis over the last quarter of a century. If you donâ€t think weâ€re the best in the game right now, I donâ€t know what youâ€re thinking. I have four words for everyone, the GOATs are here.â€

Matt Riddleâ€s name always seems to come with controversy attached, whether itâ€s backstage behavior or viral headlines. But Rob Van Dam isnâ€t jumping on the hate train — instead, heâ€s defending his longtime friend as someone people just donâ€t fully understand.

While speaking with Bill Apter, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about his relationship with Riddle and why he still stands by him. According to RVD, thereâ€s more to Riddle than people online give him credit for.

“Mattâ€s a good dude, from what I know of him. Heâ€s one of my friends. He definitely has some crazy sides to him and some parts I donâ€t really connect with, but thatâ€s normal — everyoneâ€s got different sides. The parts I do relate to are the ones that matter.â€

RVD admitted he sees why people often lump them together. The stoner image, chill attitude, and even the barefoot wrestling style connect the two — even though most fans forget RVD used to wrestle without boots, too.

“People always compare Matt to me, probably because of the cannabis thing, maybe the laid-back attitude. We both wrestled barefoot too, though most people donâ€t even remember that about me. I think the cannabis connection is what people see most.â€

But itâ€s Riddleâ€s loud personality and tendency to stir things up that gets him into trouble, RVD says. And while itâ€s easy for fans to pile on, he believes the hate is often overblown.

“He likes to fight, heâ€s not passive, and heâ€s not afraid to speak his mind. Heâ€ll stir things up and say, ‘Iâ€m just telling the truth, man.†Maybe some of that comes from inexperience or being younger — maybe he still has something to prove to himself or others.â€

Referencing past incidents like the backlash Riddle received for no-showing a UK charity event, RVD called out internet fans for reacting before knowing the facts.

“When that recent scandal happened, headlines said he no-showed a fundraiser — and thatâ€s all people needed to attack him. They donâ€t read the article or wait for his side. Three words in a headline and theyâ€re ready to hate, hiding behind keyboards. Thatâ€s society today — internet marks with short attention spans.â€

Despite the constant scrutiny, RVD says Riddle isnâ€t fazed by the backlash. In fact, he sees right through the fake outrage and moves on.

“Matt knows that, though. He shrugs it off because he understands how shallow that loyalty really is. So, no concern.â€

RVDâ€s loyalty to Riddle is clear — he sees a friend trying to navigate fame in a world where one wrong word can trend in minutes. Whether Riddle can stay out of trouble going forward is anyoneâ€s guess, but according to RVD, the hate isnâ€t always earned.

YOKOHAMA, Japan — Matt McCarty shot the best score of his young PGA Tour career and was never more disappointed.

McCarty reached his final hole Sunday at the Baycurrent Classic with a chance at 58 to tie the 18-hole record on the PGA Tour. One swing ended those hopes. He hit it into the trees, couldn’t find it and had to make a 15-foot putt for bogey and a 60.

“One swing away from a 58,†McCarty said. “It’s a tough way to finish a really good day.â€

Jim Furyk set the PGA Tour record with a 58 in the final round of the Travelers Championship in 2016. There have been 14 other rounds at 59, most recently by Jake Knapp in the Cognizant Classic earlier this year.

McCarty started on No. 10 at Yokohama Country Club, 13 shots out of the lead. He made four birdies on the back nine, and then made birdie on every hole on the front nine until reaching the 409-yard ninth hole, which bends sharply left.

“I was a little tight and tried to guide it too much,†McCarty said. “I thought I had a chance around the corner.â€

He figures it hit a tree and kicked left into a forest. McCarty took the penalty, hit his third shot from tee and and did well to make bogey.

“It’s weird to play that well and come off the course feeling this this,†he said.

Vince McMahon isn’t exactly a favorite among most pro wrestling fans, with many rarely having kind words for the disgraced former WWE Chairman. However, Matt Riddle has praised one aspect of McMahon’s booking, something he feels neither Triple H nor Tony Khan does.

McMahon, during his time leading WWE creative, was often criticized for not listening to the fans and giving them what they wanted. Riddle thinks that this is a good trait for a wrestling booker, which he explained during his recent appearance on “TMZ Sports.”

“I will say, the one thing I loved about Vince is, Vince was like, ‘This is my company. I run it. It’s my company.’ It didn’t matter if the fans were like, ‘Oh, we don’t like this.’ The storyline was going to go as long as Vince wanted it to. And with that, it kind of works better if you don’t give people everything they want,” he said. “It’s like a plant — or anything else. If you give it everything you think it wants, just like a kid, they get slow, they don’t appreciate what they have, etc. But just like a plant, if you let it starve a little bit, then you feed it, it gets stronger, it gets healthier, it eats more, you know? And I feel like fans are like that too. If you give them everything they want, like that dream match tomorrow, what are they going to tune in for next week, you know?” he said.

The former WWE star believes that McMahon would stick to his guns and follow through with his original ideas, something he feels neither Triple H, who currently oversees WWE creative, nor AEW’s Tony Khan do.

“I feel like Triple H bends a little more [to what fans want]. Tony [Khan] definitely bends a lot, you know.”

Riddle wasn’t favored by McMahon at first, as the latter considered him too goofy for his liking. Their equation changed later on, and Riddle recently even discussed the possibility of working with McMahon again if he were to start a pro wrestling company.
