Darby Allin defeated Jon Moxley in an “I Quit” match at AEW WrestleDream on Saturday with some help from an old friend, Sting.
The match was simply brutal, with both wrestlers dishing out a ton of pain.
Moxley gained the advantage, thanks in part to the Death Riders.
However, Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis then went dark.
Sting emerged with his patented bat, choked Moxley and attacked the Death Riders. He then literally passed the bat to his old partner-in-crime, who used it to his advantage.
Allin eventually won with the Scorpion Deathlock, forcing Moxley to quit.
The rivalry between Moxley and Allin dates back almost exactly a year, as Allin attempted to prevent The Death Riders’ brutal attack of Bryan Danielson last October at WrestleDream.
Allin ended up paying the price for his intervention, as The Death Riders threw him down a stairwell in December, knocking him out of action for nearly seven months.
That decision came back to haunt Mox and The Death Riders, though, as Allin resurfaced at All In back in July, helping “Hangman” Adam Page beat Moxley for the AEW World Championship in the main event.
That set the stage for a showdown between Allin and Moxley last month at All Out, and they met in a coffin match, which has become something of a signature stipulation for Darby over the years.
Allin took the fight to Moxley and seemed to be trending toward victory, but Pac made a surprise return from injury by attacking Allin and helping Mox put him inside the coffin.
While Moxley came out on top, Allin got some retribution later in the night by emerging from the coffin and a body bag, putting Moxley inside of it and shooting him with a flamethrower.
At the conclusion of the Sept. 24 episode of Dynamite, Allin confronted Moxley with the flamethrower once again, and he challenged him to a match at WrestleDream in the process.
Allin vs. Moxley was made official for WrestleDream shortly thereafter with the added “I Quit” stipulation.
Given Allin’s penchant for absorbing punishment without giving up, it wasn’t particularly surprising that he showed his grit and finally got the better of Moxley at WrestleDream.
‘The Icon’ Sting made his triumphant return to AEW at the WrestleDream 2025 pay-per-view to aid Darby Allin against Jon Moxley. In the show’s main event, Allin and Moxley faced off in an I-Quit match, which saw some of the most brutal moments ever shown on AEW programming.
In one shocking moment, the Death Riders filled up a fish tank in the middle of the ring and Moxley plunged Allin’s head under the water in an attempt to drown him. Suddenly, the lights went out and Sting appeared in the ring. The Icon choked Moxley with his baseball bat and fought off the Death Riders.
Allin would batlte back and hit Moxley with the bat, a neckbreaker, and a Coffin Drop. In a fitting tribute to his mentor, Allin locked in the Scorpion Death Lock which forced Moxley to quit, giving Allin the win.
This was a brutal match which included several weapons, including a taser. You can check out some highlights from the match below:
Sting retired from in-ring competition in 2024, and his appearance at WrestleDream shows how The Icon still has a legion of loyal fans. With 2025 marking Sting’s final year in the iconic black and white, this may have been the last time fans see Steve Borden as Sting on TV.

Brodido defeated Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita at WrestleDream on Saturday to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Brodido won after Bandido hit Kazuchika Okada with the 21-Plex. Some highlights from the match are below.
On the Title Tuesday edition of Dynamite on Oct. 7, Okada and Takeshita faced Brody King and Bandido in a tag team bout that featured a unique, championship-based stipulation.
If Okada and Takeshita were to win, they would earn an AEW tag title shot at WrestleDream, but if Brodido were to win, the wrestler who got the winning fall would receive an opportunity at Okada’s Unified Championship at WrestleDream.
Okada and Takeshita, who are both members of the Don Callis Family, have had a great deal of tension between them in recent weeks, and that carried over to the Title Tuesday match.
Despite not being on the same page, The Rainmaker and The Alpha were victorious when Okada tagged himself in and executed his Rainmaker clothesline for the win.
Although Brodido fell to Okada and Takeshita on Dynamite, they entered WrestleDream in a much better place than their opponents due to their willingness to work together.
King and Bandido teamed up in a traditional tag team match for the first time in July, and less than two months later, they found themselves atop the AEW tag team division.
At Forbidden Door, Brodido won a three-way tag team match over the Hurt Business and JetSpeed to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships in their first title opportunity.
Brodido went on to retain the titles in a four-team ladder match at All Out, but the match against Okada and Takeshita represented the biggest challenge of their reign by far.
Even so, Brodido rose to the occasion to retain against Okada and Takeshita, perhaps driving an even bigger wedge between the Don Callis Family members in the process.
There are a few stars on the AEW roster that Tony Khan is obviously pushing. It appears that he sees Kyle Fletcher as a future top name for the company, because WrestleDream was a big night for him.
AEW WrestleDream 2025 went down on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. Mark Briscoe continued his pursuit of a top title in AEW, as he targeted Kyle Fletcher and his TNT Championship.
At AEW WrestleDream, the AEW TNT Championship match featured Kyle Fletcher defending his title against Mark Briscoe.
This match went on after the Hurt Syndicate retained their six-man tag team titles. Fans were ready for this war, as Mark Briscoe was the overwealming babyface.
This match spilled to the ringside area, and they traded moves after it got started. Then Kyle Fletcher tried to stall things to slow the match to his pace as Mark Briscoe called him back to the ring. Then Briscoe followed him to apply some much-needed abuse.
This match continued and Mark Briscoe had control of the match after hitting a few big moves, including a massive dive to the outside. Then they got back in the ring, where Briscoe hit a top rope elbow for a very close near fall.
There were several near falls that followed as Don Callis continued crowing on commentary. In the end, Kyle Fletcher pulled off the win after nailing a brutal move off the top rope that sent Briscoe into the top turnbuckle, and Don Callis was very happy to get in the ring to celebrate with his champion.
Whatâ€s your take on Mark Briscoeâ€s rise in AEW? Will he be a World Champion soon? Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live coverage for AEW WrestleDream on October 18, 2025, coming to you live from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri at a special start time of 8 PM ET!
Darby Allin will be competing in an AEW ring for the first time since the October 1 episode of “Dynamite” as he collides with the leader of The Death Riders, Jon Moxley. The two men have had no shortage of issues with one another over the past few months including a win Moxley scored over Allin in a Coffin Match at AEW All Out on September 20, culminating this past Wednesday on “AEW Dynamite” and “AEW Collision” when Moxley left Allin beaten down following a backstage verbal confrontation between them.
“Hangman” Adam Page will be putting the AEW World Championship on the line for the first time since retaining against Lee Moriarty on the September 24 episode of “Dynamite” as he defends against Samoa Joe. Tensions between the two men have been on the rise over the course of the past few weeks, with Page staring down Joe after Joe and his Opps stablemates Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata retained the AEW World Trios Championship against La Faccion Ingobernable this past Wednesday.
Kris Statlander puts the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line against Toni Storm. Statlander and Storm met one another in a verbal confrontation turned physical in the opening moments of Wednesday’s show, with the former having previously dethroned the latter as AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out in a Four-Way Match that also involved Jamie Hayter and Thekla.
Two other championships will be on the line tonight, as Brody King and Bandido put the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line for the first time since retaining against Gates Of Agony’s Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun on September 24 when they defend against reigning AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita as cracks in the relationship between the two Don Callis Family members continue to grow. Elsewhere, Mark Briscoe will be challenging another member of The Don Callis Family, Kyle Fletcher, for the TNT Championship in what will mark Fletcher’s first defense since retaining against Kyle O’Reilly on October 7.
Ricochet, the aforementioned Liona, and the aforementioned Kaun of The Demand will be going head-to-head with The Hurt Syndicate’s Shelton Benjamin, MVP, and Bobby Lashley in trios competition. Not only did The Demand defeat The Hurt Syndicate at All Out only for The Hurt Syndicate to later score a win of their own in a Street Fight on the October 7 episode of “Dynamite”, but Kaun and Liona also emerged victorious against Benjamin and Lashley in a tag team match this past Wednesday.
After defeating Skye Blue this past Wednesday in singles competition, the aforementioned Hayter will be returning to action as she goes one-on-one with another member of Triangle Of Madness in the aforementioned Thekla. Thekla blindsided Hayter with an attack a number of months ago back in May, explaining that her reason for doing so was because Hayter happened to be in close proximity to her in a video message she sent to Hayter following her win against Blue. Elsewhere, The Young Bucks’s Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson look to earn some extra cash when they take on Jack Perry and Luchasaurus in a $500,000 match as the four men look to put the rising tensions between them to rest once and for all.

AEW WrestleDream 2025 is upon us, and with 13 matches between the “Tailgate Brawl” and the main card, there has been a lot of talk as to what match will potentially main event the show in St. Louis, Missouri. That talk has seemingly been put to rest according to a new report from Fightful Select as the match order has reportedly been revealed.
According to the Fightful report, the main event of WrestleDream is going to be the “I Quit” match between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley. Their feud has been closing several episodes of “AEW Dynamite” in the lead up to WrestleDream, and given that a number of fans are genuinely terrified of what the two men will do to each other, it was only natural that WrestleDream goes off the air in the most brutal way imaginable.
As for the full match other, the “Tailgate Brawl” portion of the show that will air on TNT will kick off with The Conglomeration taking on the Death Riders in an eight man tag team match. That will be followed by Eddie Kingston and Hook teaming up for a tag team match of their own, with Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford taking on Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale immediately after. “Tailgate Brawl” is set to be headlined by the match between FTR and JetSpeed.
The main card will reportedly open with a major grudge match as Jamie Hayter will take on Thekla, which will then be followed by The Young Bucks and the Jurassic Express fighting over $500,000, and the Tornado Trios match between The Demand and The Hurt Syndicate will go on third. The five title matches of the night will then take place one after another, with Kyle Fletcher defending the AEW TNT Championship against Mark Briscoe, which will be followed by Kris Statlander defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against “Timeless” Toni Storm.
Immediately after the first women’s title match of the night will be the second women’s title match of the night as Mercedes Mone will issue an open challenge to any champion in the world for a “Champion vs. Champion” match. Brodido will then take on Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW Tag Team Championships, and the AEW Men’s World Championship match between Hangman Page and Samoa Joe will be the penultimate match of the night. All of that will be followed by the aforementioned “I Quit” match between Allin and Moxley.
Aston Villa told matchday stewards they would not have to work during the clubâ€s Europa League fixture against the Israeli football team Maccabi Tel Aviv, citing possible “concerns†over safety, it has been reported.
West Midlands police decided to ban Maccabi fans from the forthcoming match, after saying the force would not be able to police the fixture safely owing to “violent clashes and hate crime offences†at a previous match in Amsterdam in 2024.
The Home Office has offered extra support to West Midlands police in an effort to reverse its ban. A meeting with Birminghamâ€s safety advisory group (SAG) has been set up for next week.
The BBC reported that Villa had informed stewards they had permission to skip their duties on the day of the fixture, Thursday 6 November, before the decision to ban fans was made by police.
In an email apparently sent on 3 October, stewards were told that “regarding the upcoming fixture against Maccabi Tel Aviv … we appreciate that some of you may have concerns about attending workâ€, the broadcaster reported.
Those who were meant to work on the day were told they would “be able to submit a one-off absence requestâ€, and this “will allow you to register your absence for this specific fixtureâ€.
Aston Villa had also made clear that “this type of absence will not affect your contractual minimum attendance of 80%â€.
This email was reportedly sent after a number of stewards allegedly raised concerns over safety on the day, and it is unclear how many stewards will not work on the day of the fixture. A request to not work would have to be submitted four days prior to the matchâ€s scheduled date.
West Midlands police had said on Thursday they had classified Villaâ€s home fixture against Maccabi as “high risk†based on intelligence. The police force also highlighted violence that occurred during a 2024 Uefa Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi in Amsterdam, where more than 60 people were arrested over the violence that was called a “toxic combination of antisemitism, hooliganism, and anger†by authorities.
Four local people were given short jail terms for the violence against Maccabi fans. A report by Dutch police into the disorder during the 2024 Amsterdam match found Maccabi fans had torn a Palestinian flag down from a local building and burned it, shouted: “Fuck you, Palestineâ€, and vandalised a taxi. Maccabi fans were also taped chanting “Olé, olé. Let the IDF win, fuck the Arabs.â€
The ban imposed by West Midlands police came after pressure from the local independent MP, Ayoub Khan. Khan told BBC Twoâ€s Newsnight on Thursday: “We cannot conflate [this issue with] antisemitism when we look at what some of these fans did in Amsterdam in 2024 … Weâ€re talking about violent fans and I think the prime minister should stay out of operational matters.â€
The Campaign Against Antisemitism said on Friday it was notifying Birmingham city council and West Midlands police of its intention to bring a judicial review against the ban of Maccabi fans, which it said was “pernicious†and had “angered the whole countryâ€.
Keir Starmer called the police forceâ€s decision “wrongâ€, saying “we will not tolerate antisemitism on our streetsâ€. Uefa, the governing body of European football, has urged local authorities in Birmingham to allow Maccabi fans to travel to the match.
In a statement on their website, Aston Villa said: “The club are in continuous dialogue with Maccabi Tel Aviv and the local authorities throughout this ongoing process, with the safety of supporters attending the match and the safety of local residents at the forefront of any decision.â€
Aston Villa have been approached for comment.
CM Punk brought serious heart to Tokyo this weekend—and he wasnâ€t alone.
During WWEâ€s second Supershow at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday morning, Punk joined forces with Shinsuke Nakamura for a rare tag team main event. The match saw them defeat Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, reuniting former members of The Vision for one last Tokyo clash.
But what happened after the bell rang may have meant even more to fans in the building. Once the action ended, CM Punk grabbed a mic and took a moment to speak directly to the Japanese crowd, expressing deep respect for the country, its wrestling culture, and its legends.
“I wish I could speak fluent Japanese,†Punk began, before connecting with the crowd in English. “But I think a lot of you understand English.â€
He didnâ€t stop there. Punk praised the Tokyo audience as one of the best heâ€s ever performed in front of, revealing just how long heâ€d dreamed of this moment.
“It is a privilege for me to be able to wrestle in front of what I feel is the greatest wrestling audience in the world … the Japanese wrestling fans,†Punk said. “Itâ€s a little ironic. When I was a little boy and I fell in love with pro wrestling. All I ever wanted to do was go to Japan.â€
Punk also shared his love for the late WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk, drawing a powerful connection between Funkâ€s cowboy image and the influence it had on generations of Japanese wrestlers.
“I think a lot of the Japanese wrestlers, they wanted to be American cowboys,†Punk told the crowd. “They wanted to be Terry Funk. So to me, itâ€s very beautiful that I get to come to Tokyo and I get to share a ring with a legend like Shinsuke Nakamura.â€
Nakamura then translated Punkâ€s heartfelt speech to the fans in their native language, which was followed by AJ Styles making his way out for an emotional farewell of his own—bringing things full circle for a night filled with respect, memories, and legacy.
Do you think CM Punk teaming with Nakamura in Japan should become more than just a one-time moment? Would you like to see them together again—or maybe even face off? Drop your thoughts below and share your favorite moment from the Japan Supershow.
