Browsing: itch

A former WWE Diva has stated that she “gets the itch†to return to WWE all the time.

During a recent interview with talkSPORT Boxing, Summer Rae, who worked for WWE mainly between 2011 and 2017, talked about her time with WWE and how it has helped her in her current role as an interviewer in Bare Knuckle Boxing.

“My role with the company, I do backstage interviews, in-ring interviews. I do a lot of social media for them and it works out coming with my WWE background and background in combat sports. My fans love it and itâ€s been fun getting to know the game.â€

Speaking about her WWE journey, Summer Rae stated that sheâ€s still friends with many superstars and that WWE will always be a part of her. Rae also mentioned that she “gets the itch†to return to the company all the time.

“Iâ€m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. Iâ€m such a big fan, and itâ€s just a part of me, it always will be. And you know, I get the itch to go back all the time.â€

When asked about who she enjoyed working with in WWE, Summer Rae mentioned names like Natalya, Mercedes Mone, and Naomi among others.

“Loved working with Natalya. Of course, we had a big rivalry with Total Divas and though she is Bret Hartâ€s niece, she says to this day, people talk about me and the slap heard around the world. So, thatâ€s fun. Iâ€m still friends with Sasha, Mercedes, sheâ€s been killing it. Naomi, of course. You know, the list goes on. I love The Big Show. The Big Show is just amazing. He took me under his wing when I first started.†[H/T f4wonline]

Most WWE Superstars who retire still get the itch to get back in the ring and knock some teeth and Danielle Moinet is no different.

Danielle Moinet, best known by her ring name Summer Rae, was signed to WWE for six years. During this time, her most noteworthy run was as the valet of Fandango, who is now signed to TNA under the ring name Johnny Dango Curtis. After WrestleMania 29, the two paired up, and Fandango continued his rivalry with Chris Jericho. They were an on-screen couple for a whole year, between 2013 and 2014.

Danielle Moinet (FKA Summer Rae) Still Gets The Itch To Make Her WWE Return After The Royal Rumble 2022

In an interview with talkSPORT Boxing, Danielle Moinet reflected on her time in WWE. She said it was her dream growing up, to be part of the sports entertainment capital, which she got to do, and that it was satisfactory. However, Moinet admitted that she still gets the itch to go back.

Oh my gosh! So, I was with WWE for six years, which is a good, solid run. And I’ve been gone for a little bit, went back three years ago for the Royal Rumble – they did not have an all-women’s Royal Rumble when I was growing up – it was my dream. It was everything I wanted to do.

Moinet said that while work was around 300 days a year with no breaks, she still did not feel like it was work. She also emphasized her love for WWE.

We were on the road, gosh, a good 300 days a year. It’s completely non-stop, but it’s what you wanted to do; it doesn’t feel like work. I’m still friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. I’m such a fan, it’s just a part of me. It always will be. And I get the itch to go back all the time,” Danielle Moinet said.

Danielle Moinet entered the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble in what was a blast from the past moment that WWE tends to do at these events. Her in-ring time was brief, though, as Moinet entered the 30-woman battle royal at #23, and was eliminated shortly thereafter by Natalya.

In an interview some time back, the 41-year-old had disclosed that an in-ring return will not happen. However, she added that there still lies an interest in the sport, and so, Danielle would like to raise young talents by sharing what she learned on the road with WWE.

Danielle Moinet (formerly known as Summer Rae) says she gets the itch to return to WWE all the time.

During a recent interview with Talk Sport, Moinet talked about how her background with WWE helps in her new role as an interviewer and working on the social media team for Bare Knuckle Boxing.

Moinet responded:

“My role with the company, I do backstage interviews, in-ring interviews. I do a lot of social media for them and it works out coming with my WWE background and background in combat sports. My fans love it and itâ€s been fun getting to know the game.”

Moinet says WWE will always be a part of her:

“Iâ€m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. Iâ€m such a big fan, and itâ€s just a part of me, it always will be. And you know, I get the itch to go back all the time.”

Moinet was asked about who she enjoyed working with in WWE. She mentioned Saraya, formerly known as Paige, Natalya, Mercedes Mone, and several others.

He took me under his wing when I first started.”

Moinet was with WWE from 2011 to 2017. She worked as Fandango’s valet and dance partner, and was also involved in a memorable romance angle with Rusev, Lana, and Dolph Ziggler. She returned to WWE briefly in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, where she was eliminated by Natalya in under a minute. Prior to signing with WWE, Moinet played for the Chicago Bliss of the Lingerie Football League from 2008 to 2011, making the All-Star team in her final year.

Some speculation about a return to wrestling for Moinet took place last month after she posted the below cryptic Tweet:
