IND vs PAK: Comical Pakistan error leads to dropped catch - watchA comical coordination error resulted in a dropped catch towards the end of India’s innings (Screengrabs) The ICC Womenâ€s World Cup clash between India and Pakistan in Colombo on Sunday produced not only tense cricket but also a comical moment in the field that had fans and commentators talking. During the 50th over, Indiaâ€s Richa Ghosh attempted a pull shot off a short delivery from Diana Baig. The top-edge went straight into the air, offering an easy catch opportunity between the wicketkeeper and backward point. However, both fielders collided trying to take it, and the ball was dropped. Thankfully, neither player was injured in the process. Kranti Gaud capitalised on the same, hitting a boundary on the next ball before miscuing an attempted drive on the following delivery. She was caught by Aliya Riaz at mid-off for 8 runs off 4 balls. The sequence continued to add to the drama, with Renuka Singh Thakur coming to the crease and being dismissed off the very next delivery, also caught, this time by Sidra Nawaz off Diana Baig. Despite the hiccup, India posted a competitive total of 247 all out in 50 overs on a pitch that offered some moisture, slowing the ball down and giving bowlers some control. Watch the comical moment hereKey contributors included Harleen Deol (46), Jemimah Rodrigues (32), Deepti Sharma (25), and Richa Ghosh, who remained unbeaten on 35. Wickets fell steadily throughout India’s innings, and Pakistan bowlers made sure to keeping India in check despite the brief comedic error.

IND Vs WI Match Prediction: The first of two Test matches between India and the West Indies will see the Men in Blue don the whites for the first time since a testing English summer a few months back.

The Indian Cricket Team has been in excellent form across formats. Most recently, they dominated the Asia Cup 2025, going unbeaten in the competition in which they were miles better than all other teams. As for their Test form, this team tied a historic five-match Anderson-Tendulkar against England a few months back on foreign soil

As for the West Indies, the last time they played Test cricket, they were thrashed 3-0 by Australia at home, even being bowled out for 27 in one of the matches. They then lost the T20I series to the Aussies and another to Pakistan, before winning against the Men in Green in ODIs. However, the humiliation continued when, in a three-match T20I series against Nepal, the Windies lost 2-1.

IND Vs WI Final Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch Report

Most pitches at the Narendra Modi Stadium are conducive to batting. Big runs can be expected here on most occasions. However, there are certain pitches here that might see that ball stick to the wicket and trouble batters. If the match surface is one of the batting-friendly ones, the ball will come onto the bat well for all five days. While pace bowlers will find some good bounce, this one is expected to be dominated by the batters.

For the next five days, the chances of rain in Ahmedabad are moderately high. The skies will be mostly cloudy on almost all days, with scattered sunshine on days two, three, and four. The winds will be moderate on all days, and so will be the humidity.

IND vs WI: Jomel Warrican prepares for key role as Windies hope red-soil pitch is a spinner’s friendWest Indies left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican (AP) Ahmedabad: One step, rock back, bowl. One step, rock back, bowl. It was a routine that Jomel Warrican kept doing for about 35 minutes in the nets at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Tuesday as the West Indies prepared for the first of the two-match Test series vs India, starting Thursday. “It was basically to service my action so that I can get more body into it and help me get more revs on the ball,†he explained. The 33-year-old left-arm spinner knows he will have a massive role to play if the West Indies are to compete. But he will take heart from seeing the names of bowlers that succeeded in India last year: Mitchell Santner and Ajaz Patel, both getting 10-wicket hauls in Pune and Mumbai respectively to bowl New Zealand to memorable wins.Left-arm finger spin, especially fastish left-arm finger spin, has historically troubled India even in home conditions. The red-soil pitch on display for the first Test could be his friend if he bowls accurately. Warrican could also have spin-twin Khary Pierre bowl with him if the first-class veteran, known to be metronomical and quick, gets to wear the legendary maroon cap, bearing the number 341 for the first time.Warrican can pass on to Pierre any information that he gathered from his sojourn to these shores in 2018. “Day Three and Four, the ball starts turning a lot. First innings runs are going to be vital,†he states. For those runs, coach Darren Sammy has put his wards through a six-day camp. The Windies arrived in Ahmedabad on Sept 24. “We had two allday sessions after coming here. Batters practised a lot of sweeps, defensive strokes, pulling off the back foot, and lofted strokes,†Warrican revealed.

Poll

Who do you think will play a key role for the West Indies in the upcoming Test series against India?

Warrican, 33, has played only 21 Tests in a 10-year career so far and has taken 73 wickets with two five-fors. Both came in Multan, in Jan vs Pakistan. A sensational spell of 7-32 did not result in victory for the West Indies. In the next Test, though, he took 4/43 and 5/27 and also scored 36 not out to bowl West Indies to a rare away win.If the red-soil pitch in Ahmedabad plays true to character like most redsoil pitches in India, expect additions to the tally of five-fors.

Watch: Gautam Gambhir goes crazy, bangs table during IND vs PAK Asia Cup finalGautam Gambhir (Screengrab) Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir could barely contain himself. In the closing moments of the Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan, the former India opener went wild as Tilak Varma launched Haris Rauf for a towering six in the final over. The blow all but sealed Indiaâ€s victory, and Gambhirâ€s table-thumping celebration became as much a part of the highlight reel as the shot itself. It was the 19.2 over, India needing just eight runs from five deliveries. Rauf banged one in short, but Tilak was ready. He rocked back, swung cleanly, and sent the ball soaring over the ropes for an 80-meter maximum. As the Dubai International Stadium erupted, cameras cut to Gambhir, who pounded the commentary desk with both hands, his trademark intensity spilling over. For fans, it was a moment that encapsulated the passion of India-Pakistan cricket — both on and off the field.Click here to watch Gautam Gambhir’s reaction and banging on the table hereIndiaâ€s chase of 147 had been anything but straightforward. The defending champions slumped to 20/3 in the powerplay, losing Abhishek Sharma early and feeling the heat of Pakistanâ€s pace battery. But Tilak Varma stood tall.Calm under pressure, the left-hander compiled an unbeaten 69, anchoring the innings and counterpunching with flair. He found an able partner in Shivam Dube, whose 33-run knock steadied nerves and built the platform for the finish.Earlier, Pakistan had squandered a flying start. At 113/1, they looked poised for a big total, with Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) setting the tone. But once Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav got into the act, wickets tumbled. Kuldeepâ€s 4/30, including a decisive triple-strike in the 17th over, broke the back of Pakistanâ€s innings, restricting them to 146 all out.Indiaâ€s five-wicket win handed them a record ninth Asia Cup title. Yet, beyond the statistics, what fans will remember is Gambhirâ€s unfiltered joy.

IND Vs PAK Match Prediction: Match 19 of the Asia Cup 2025 will be the Final of the competition between two arch-rivals competing against one another for the third time in as many weeks. Despite being the two best Asian teams, India and Pakistan will compete in the final of the Asia Cup for the first time in the 41-year-long history of the Asia Cup.

The Indian cricket team come into this final as the only unbeaten team in this tournament. By far the best performing team in the Asia Cup 2025, they won all three of their games in Group A fairly comfortably, beating the UAE, Pakistan, and Oman with relative ease. Then, in the Super Fours, they thrashed Pakistan and Bangladesh to qualify for the final. However, their most recent game, a dead-rubber against Sri Lanka, was the most exciting match of this competition, which the Men in Blue won in the Super over.

As for Pakistan, they have proven themselves to be the second-best team in this tournament, but are still miles behind India. They beat the UAE and Oman in Group A but lost to India by a big margin. Then, after another defeat at the hands of India in the Super Fours, the Men in Green won against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to book a place in the final

IND Vs PAK Final Dubai International Stadium Pitch Report

The pitches at the Dubai International Stadium are batting-friendly, which means that teams are expected to score big runs here. The pitch is by far a better batting surface in the second inning, as there is still some movement and stickiness in the first inning. The bounce here is consistent, and the ball comes nicely onto the bat. Pacers can do some damage early in the inning, but batters still dominate. Towards the middle of an inning, spinners come into play. While pitch does crack a bit throughout a match, batting second is still the way to go here.

IND Vs PAK Final Weather Report

Once again, it will be a warm evening in Dubai, with temperatures hovering around and over the 30 degrees Celsius mark, going as high as 33 degrees during the match. The skies will be clear with no chance of rain. The winds will be weak, while the humidity will be moderate to high.

Ahead of the Asia Cup final, India have been left anxious as their star all-rounder Hardik Pandyaâ€s fitness is under concern and his participation in the IND vs PAK clash is uncertain.

For the first time in the history of the Asia Cup, India and Pakistan will meet in the final. India beat Pakistan in their two previous encounters in this tournament, but a final will bring its own higher pressure and jeopardy.

Both teams have failed to put in convincingly dominant performances in their respective last Super 4 games. Pakistan beat Bangladesh by only 11 runs, while India and Sri Lanka produced the most thrilling and closest contest of the tournament, as their game was decided in the Super Over.

India had rested Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube from the match against Sri Lanka. But it now seems that it would have been wise to give a rest to their premier all-rounder, Pandya, as well.

Demo

As heâ€s done throughout the tournament, Pandya bowled the first over against Sri Lanka, in which he dismissed opener Kusal Mendis for a duck. However, he soon left the field and didnâ€t return to bowl, finishing his match with just a solitary over.

Suryakumar Yadav clearly missed Pandyaâ€s experienced services with the ball, as Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel all were smacked around by Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera. Pandyaâ€s absence from the field even forced Suryakumar to bowl Axar the 18th over. Thankfully for India, Axar didnâ€t concede more than 10 runs in that over.

IND vs PAK Asia Cup final: Bowling coach Morne Morkel gives update on Hardik Pandyaâ€s fitness

Concerns have been raised over Hardikâ€s fitness for the Asia Cup final against Pakistan, as he bowled only one over against Sri Lanka and left the field, holding his left hamstring, and didnâ€t return for the rest of Sri Lankaâ€s innings.

Bowling coach Morne Morkel has confirmed that Hardik suffered cramps in his left hamstring while bowling against Sri Lanka. Morkel remained coy on Hardikâ€s fitness and said a call on his participation in the final against Pakistan will be made on the match day itself.

“Hardik had cramps, he will be assessed tonight and tomorrow morning, weâ€ll then take a call on that,†Morkel said in the post-match press conference after Indiaâ€s Super Over victory against Sri Lanka.

India opener Abhishek Sharma also spent the latter half of Sri Lankaâ€s innings away from the field. While fielding in the 9th over, Abhishek was observed in discomfort as he clutched his right leg.

Abhishek was seen sitting on the bench for the last 10 overs of Sri Lankaâ€s innings, getting treatment and chatting with the team physio. Sharma also didnâ€t come to bat during the Super Over.

Morkel, though, assured that “Abhishek is fineâ€and has no major injury issues, and it was just cramps.\

What happens when some hot-headed cricketers get into a heated, high-stakes contest? Tempers flare, and intense words and gestures get exchanged. This is what happened when young India opener Abhishek Sharma and senior Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf came acrosseach other during the IND vs PAK Super 4 encounter of the Asia Cup.

What is being referred to as “round 2†of the IND vs PAK contest of the Asia Cup 2025 took place on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai, as both teams commenced their Super 4 journey after progressing through from the group stage.

Pakistan had been dumped by seven wickets during the IND vs PAK group stage encounter, where they managed only 127 runs.

In the Super 4 clash of the two archrivals, Pakistan, once again batting first, performed better, posting 171 on the board. Sahibzada Farhan held one end for almost three-fourths of Pakistanâ€s innings but didnâ€t find a partner for a longer period of time. While Farhan top-scored with 58, no other Pakistani batter managed more than 21.

Demo

In the chase, India got a blockbuster start as Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill racked up a century partnership inside nine overs, bringing the required run rate down to close to six and a half runs per over.

Abhishek stormed to a 24-ball half-century after pulling Shaheen Afridi for a six on the first ball of the chase. Gill made 47 runs off 28 balls, cracking eight fours in his aggressive knock. The duo amassed an opening stand of 105 runs from 9.5 overs.

During this, Abhishek had a verbal battle with Rauf, which got intense and theatric. In Haris†first over, which was inside the powerplay, he had a verbal run-in with Abhishek after getting whacked for a four. On the last ball of the same over, Gill pulled Rauf for a boundary, and Rauf and Abhishek resumed their war of words.

Abhishek could be seen gesturing towards the bowling mark, while Rauf angrily pointed his forefinger towards the Indian opener

The duo was so charged up that umpire Gazi Sohel had to intervene and separate Rauf and Abhishek and prevent the fight from getting bigger. Gill, too, got into the act and joined his batting partner in arguing with the Pakistani paceman.

IND vs PAK: Only four Indians have done what Abhishek Sharma did to Shaheen AfridiAbhishek Sharma hit Shaheen Afridi for a first-ball six during the Asia cup match between India and Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. (Photo by Francois Nel/Getty Images) Indiaâ€s chase in the Asia Cup Super Four clash against Pakistan got off to a fiery start on Sunday when Abhishek Sharma hit the very first delivery of the innings for six at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Facing Shaheen Afridi, Abhishek smashed on a short ball down the leg side and got a top-edge that carried all the way behind the wicketkeeper Haris Rauf. The sensational hit not only opened Indiaâ€s innings in emphatic fashion but also set the tone for a heated exchange between the two players. There were words exchanged immediately after the six, adding intensity to what was already a high-pressure match. In the earlier group-stage meeting of the tournament, Abhishek had attacked Shaheenâ€s very first ball too, charging down and striking him straight back for four. This time, the approach was just as aggressive, with an even better six to show for it. The hit also landed Abhishek in a rare club. He became only the fourth Indian to clear the ropes with the very first ball of a T20I innings. Rohit Sharma was the first to achieve the feat, against Adil Rashid in Ahmedabad in 2021. The only others to do it are:

  1. Rohit Sharma off Adil Rashid in Ahmedabad, 2021
  2. Yashasvi Jaiswal off Sikandar Raza in Harare, 2024
  3. Sanju Samson off Jofra Archer in Mumbai, 2025
  4. Abhishek Sharma off Haider Ali in Dubai, 2025
  5. Abhishek Sharma off Shaheen Afridi in Dubai, 2025

For Abhishek, the Dubai hit carried even more significance as it came against Pakistanâ€s spearhead Afridi.
