Wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher has reportedly been hospitalized.
Booking agent Steve Stasiak posted from his Book Pro Wrestlers X and Facebook accounts that Abdullah is suffering from unspecified “serious health issues.”
Stasiak wrote:
“Wrestling legend Abdullah The Butcher has been hospitalized at 84. The Wild Man from the Sudan is battling serious health issues. One of wrestlingâ€s most feared figures, Abdullah helped shape the sport from Japan to Puerto Rico to Georgia and beyond. Send your prayers, love, and strength his way tonight.“
Abdullah was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2011. He was a global star as a special attraction across territories from Canada, to Puerto Rico, to Detroit, to World Class in Texas, to Japan. His most prominent national run in America came in an ill-fated WCW stint in 1991 and 1992.
After his legendary career as a wrestling attraction, Abdullah’s legacy became tainted.
In 2011, Abdullah was accused of infecting independent wrestler Devon Nicholson with Hepatitis C by cutting him with a blade without his consent during an indie match in Canada in 2007.
Nicholson sued Abdullah in an Ontario court and won a multi-million dollar judgement in 2014. The Fulton County court in Georgia ruled that the Canadian judgement would be upheld as Abdullah then lived in Atlanta.

This is sadly not Abdullah’s first time battling health issues. In July 2024, he was hospitalized due to intestinal issues. At the time, a GoFundMe was launched by his godchild Esa, who hoped to help with medical costs. The fundraiser raised $7,500 of its $20,000 goal. Earlier this year, Abdullah shared that he was receiving help from ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page and Chris Jericho, and was grateful for all they had done.
Abdullah the Butcher is known in wrestling for his very violent matches, and for his efforts, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. Now, Abdullah is facing a difficult battle outside of the ring, and we at SEScoops would like to send our best to the wrestling legend.
Tod Gordon, the visionary founder of Extreme Championship Wrestling, is currently hospitalized and focusing on his recovery, his family announced Saturday via his Instagram account.
“If you’ve reached out and haven’t heard back, please know he’s not ignoring anyone — he’s just focusing on his health right now,” the family’s statement read. “While he is unable to receive visitors, we appreciate all your love, support, and prayers during this time.”
The family revealed Gordon has been hospitalized “for some time” but did not disclose specific details about his condition or prognosis. They requested the wrestling community keep him in their thoughts during this difficult period.
Gordon founded Eastern Championship Wrestling in 1992, which became an NWA affiliate the following year. After hiring Paul Heyman as booker in 1993, the promotion controversially split from the NWA in 1994 and rebranded as Extreme Championship Wrestling, revolutionizing professional wrestling with its hardcore style and counterculture appeal.
In 2009, Gordon was inducted into the 2300 Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame alongside Sabu, with posthumous inductions for original ECW booker Eddie Gilbert and Chris Candido. Most recently, Gordon co-authored “Tod is God: The Authorized Story of How I Created Extreme Championship Wrestling” with Sean Oliver in 2023.
The wrestling community continues to send well-wishes to the ECW legend during his hospitalization.
Tod Gordon is currently hospitalized.
Gordonâ€s family posted a message on his Instagram account on Saturday, revealing that he has been hospitalized for some time. His family wants everyone to know that if you have reached out to Gordon recently and not heard back, itâ€s because he is currently focusing on his health.
Gordon’s family’s message reads:
“From the Family of Tod Gordon:
We wanted to share that, Tod Gordon, is currently in the hospital and has been for some time. If youâ€ve reached out and havenâ€t heard back, please know heâ€s not ignoring anyone — heâ€s just focusing on his health right now.
While he is unable to receive visitors, we appreciate all your love, support, and prayers during this time. Please keep him in your thoughts.
Thank you“

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III had to be taken to a Dublin-area hospital after suffering a shoulder injury during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters after his team’s 24-21 win that Austin was being evaluated at a hospital.
Per ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Austin was loaded into an ambulance with his arm in a sling after leaving the game in the fourth quarter.
The injury occurred when Austin was tackled by Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy after an eight-yard reception. He finished with two catches for 13 yards.
Austin’s injury left an already-thin Steelers receiving corps scrambling. DK Metcalf made up for the lack of depth with his best game of the season, finishing with 126 yards and a touchdown on five catches.
Pittsburgh’s depth chart behind Metcalf and Austin includes Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller and Ben Skowronek. The two leading receivers after Metcalf on Sunday were running back Kenneth Gainwell (35 yards) and tight end Darnell Washington (20 yards).
Entering Week 4, the Steelers’ leading receiver was running back Jaylen Warren with 142 yards. Metcalf and Austin were the only other pass-catchers on the team with at least 100 yards.
Austin is in his fourth NFL season after being selected in the fourth round of the 2022 draft. He missed his entire rookie campaign due to a foot injury and played limited snaps in 2023.
Last season saw Austin become more of a focal point in the offense. He racked up 548 yards and four touchdowns on 36 catches in 17 games (eight starts).
Austin was averaging a career-high 15.8 yards per reception through the first three weeks of this season.
If Austin’s injury requires him to miss any time, the Steelers would likely turn to Miller and Skowronek as a short-term option as their No. 2 receiver. They could also explore free agency or the trade market for depth.
The Steelers do have time to figure out their situation since they are on a bye in Week 5 before returning to play the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 12.

This popular WWE referee spent over a week in the hospital for a nasty bump.
Professional Wrestling, although mixed with an element of entertainment and drama, often comes with its own set of risks. Throughout the sport’s history, several athletes have suffered serious injuries, undergone surgeries, or spent time in hospitals.
Recently, speaking in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, veteran referee Charles Robinson revealed how he had once spent time in a hospital for a nasty bump he had taken.
“Randy Savage elbow. But it wasnâ€t a ref bump. I was a worker then, but that was the worst bump Iâ€ve taken the elbow from Randy Savage. He put me in the hospital for 12 days. It was Ric [Flair] and I against Medusa and Savage, and he came off the top with the elbow and Ric Flair wasnâ€t going to take the elbow from Savage, so they let Little Naitch. Cracked my sternum, collapsed my lung.
So two hours later, I went to my room and I said, Oh, man, I just canâ€t breathe. Went to my room, two hours later, still canâ€t breathe. I called Jimmy Hart lifesaver. He called the EMTs. They came to my room, took me to the hospital, said, ‘Hey, we need to put you in the hospital.†So that hospital, I wonâ€t say what city, they released me the next day to fly home to Charlotte, which with a collapsed lung youâ€re not supposed to do that. So I went straight to the hospital for 12 days. But Randy Savage called me every day just to check on me.â€
