Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reacted to teammate Cameron Heyward’s joke about the age of Rodgers as well as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco heading into a Week 7 matchup between the AFC North foes.

“I think it’s great for all the old guys,” Rodgers said, per ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. “I know that when I watch other sports, maybe it’s because I’m the older guy, but I tend to pull for the older guys to win championships.”

During the veteran passer’s media availability on Tuesday, Heyward called the game against the Bengals the “Icy Hot bowl.”

The upcoming clash between the two division rivals will feature the oldest current starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Rodgers is 41 years old, while Flacco is 40 years old.

They’re set to become the second pair of opposing quarterbacks of at least 40 years old to start a regular or postseason game against each other in NFL history (h/t Pryor).

Rodgers has been impressive to open his first season in Pittsburgh, completing 68.8 percent of his throws for 1,021 yards and 10 touchdowns compared to three interceptions. The Steelers sit at 4-1, owning an early lead atop the AFC North standings.

As for Flacco, he’ll make his second start for Cincinnati after he was acquired by the team in an Oct. 7 trade with the Cleveland Browns. He started the first four games of the regular season for Cleveland until he was benched on Oct. 1.

While Flacco lost his first start with the Bengals on Sunday, he still performed admirably against a Green Bay Packers squad that owns the NFL’s No. 10 scoring defense.

He finished 29-of-45 for 219 yards and two touchdowns without committing a turnover in the 27-18 loss to Green Bay.

Kickoff between the Bengals and Steelers is on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
