Itâ€s become apparent that many people feel Randy Orton has been really underutilized by WWE for a long time now. Thatâ€s why it comes as no surprise Mark Henry wants the Viper to turn heel again.

While speaking on Inside the Ring, Mark Henry believes Randy Orton is being underused in his current role and says the best version of Orton is as a heel, not a babyface champion.

According to Henry, Orton should go back to punting people, RKOâ€ing anyone in sight, and stomping people out; because thatâ€s when heâ€s at his most effective.

“Some people think heâ€s being underused right now, and Iâ€m one of those people. But I wouldnâ€t want Randy to be champion as good guy Randy. I want Randy in the role thatâ€s tailor-made for him—coming in, punting people again, RKOâ€ing peopleâ€s grandmothers and kids, stomping everyone. Let Randy be Randy.â€

Henry even compared Orton to the classic story of the frog and the scorpion, where the scorpion convinces the frog to carry him across a pond, only to sting him midway, dooming them both. Henry explained the lesson is that the scorpion acted true to its nature, and Orton is the same way.

To Henry, Randy Orton is a natural heel, and letting him fully embrace that role would just show why heâ€s one of the greatest heels in wrestling history.

“Heâ€s gotta shave his head too. You canâ€t trust the snake. Youâ€ve heard that story about the frog and the scorpion? The toadâ€s sitting by the pond, minding his business, and the scorpion comes up and says, ‘Hey man, give me a ride to the other side.†The toad says, ‘No way, youâ€re a scorpion. Youâ€ll sting me and kill me.†The scorpion says, ‘Why would I do that? I need your help to get across.†So the toad agrees, and halfway across, the scorpion stabs him full of poison. The toad says, ‘Why would you do that? Now weâ€re both gonna die.†And the scorpion says, ‘You knew I was a scorpion when I got on your back.â€

Thatâ€s Randy Orton. Thatâ€s who he is. Let that guy be himself, because heâ€s so good at it. Can you really say anyone was more definitively a better heel than Randy when heâ€s a heel?â€

This comes after we had previously reported that WWE planted seeds for Randy Ortonâ€s heel turn after he lost to Cody Rhodes at Night of Champions this year. While Orton is currently on Rhodes†side, that could easily change in the future and so only time will tell whether WWE will pull the trigger and finally turn the Apex Predator into the dangerous heel fans know and love.

IYO SKY has very good reasoning as to why she prefers being a babyface instead of a heel in WWE.

RAW Superstar IYO SKY recently spoke with ComicBook.com. When asked what she learned about during her time in NXT and her call-up to the main roster, SKY spoke about having most of her NXT run as a heel and how sheâ€s enjoyed being able to portray a babyface on the main roster.

“When I was in NXT, most of the time I was as a heel. But now I am a babyface and I always smiling,†IYO SKY said. “Iâ€m pointing my face and screaming, and Iâ€m so much better enjoying this way to wrestling, so yeah.â€

When asked if she prefers being a babyface more than a heel, SKY said she does because smiling just comes much more naturally to her than being forced to have a grumpy face.

“Yeah, because I could smiling in the ring,†IYO SKY said. “Because as a heel I have to always keep like a grumpy face or you know scary face during the match, so now Iâ€m smiling as a natural.†[H/T: Fightful]

Dominik Mysterio poses on the ramp after a win on WWE programming/

WWE

AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio is still also Intercontinental Champion after defeating Rusev by nefarious means on “WWE Raw.” Mysterio was initially accompanied to the ring by Judgment Day stablemates Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, but they left him before the bell rang for Mysterio to prove he could defeat Rusev on his own.

Mysterio couldn’t get Rusev off his feet, and the challenger took it to the champion with suplexes, throwing him around the ring. Mysterio tried to take out Rusev with a cross body over the top rope to the outside, but Rusev caught him and hit him with a fallaway slam over the commentary desk. Back in the ring, Mysterio looked for the Three Amigos, but couldn’t get Rusev off the ground for the first one.

The champion tripped Rusev to set him up for the 619, but Rusev was back up before Mysterio could get close to hit the move. Mysterio rolled out of the ring and sent Rusev ribs-first into the stairs and followed it up with a 619 to his midsection. He went for a frog splash, but Rusev got out of the way and hit a Machka Kick.

Mysterio escaped the Accolade and grabbed his championship. He hit Rusev with the belt and then threw it to his challenger, pulling an Eddie Guerrero, but the referee wasn’t having it. Mysterio and the ref were backed into the corner, and when Rusev got behind Mysterio to grab him, Mysterio hit Rusev with a kick, a targeted low block, and rolled him up for the victory.

John Cenaâ€s stunned fans by turning heel in March 2025 which marked his first time as a fully-fledged villain in over two decades. While the turn itself shocked fans, many felt that what followed failed to meet expectations.

Cenaâ€s heel run began with an alliance with The Rock, though the “Final Boss†quickly disappeared from WWE television afterward. Speaking on UnSKripted, Cenaâ€s father, John Cena Sr., reflected on his sonâ€s final year in the ring.

“I think what heâ€s done is right, itâ€s good, itâ€s positive… Turning John Cena heel was a great idea. The shock factor was great.â€

While Cena Sr. praised the turn itself, he agreed with fans who felt the follow-up fell flat.

“The storyline [after the turn] was destroyed. That was a very poor move in my opinion because it was a big gamble for everyone involved.â€

Cena Sr. placed much of the blame on The Rockâ€s sudden absence, calling it a crushing blow to one of WWEâ€s biggest storylines in years.

“To see how it started, and then to see the characters who are involved no longer be present, the heel turn almost became non-essential. That was something I wasnâ€t really too hyped up on.â€

Ultimately, Cena abandoned the heel turn ahead of SummerSlam 2025 and returned to the fan-favorite role that defined much of his career. With only a handful of appearances left before retirement, Cena is set to close out his legendary run as the beloved babyface, despite his fatherâ€s belief that the heel turn could have been so much more.

Dave Bautista will be able to channel his WWE past for his upcoming role in the Highlander movie reboot.

Former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista recently sat down with Steve Weintraub of Collider. When asked what it was about the script of the upcoming Highlander reboot that made him want to be part of it, Bautista revealed this is a role heâ€s actually been chasing for a long time.

“Man, this goes back a long time because Iâ€ve actually been chasing this role,†Dave Bautista said. “I think I probably tweeted about this role, about being the Kurgan, more than 10 years ago. Iâ€ve been chasing this role like Iâ€ve been chasing the Marcus Fenix role, just because I was a huge fan of the original Highlander.

“I always loved Clancy Brownâ€s performance as the Kurgan. I always wanted to be the Kurgan, I donâ€t know why. There was something magical about that role. Heâ€s the villain I love to hate. Same with wrestling, I like being the bad guy, and that was the kind of role that Iâ€ve been searching for as far as being the bad guy.

“So, when this came about, this started tracking, and Chad had it, like, this is years now, years back when it was still with Lionsgate, because itâ€s been a little bit of a bumpy road for this project as well. But I started tracking it then, and then when I heard that they moved over to Amazon MGM, right when it was kind of in a flux, and I was working with J.J. at the time, and I even asked him, ‘Hey, man, can you put in a good word with Chad?†And he did.

“He started calling, putting in a good word for me. Chad came to The Killerâ€s Game premiere, and he made sure that I had a moment to meet with Chad and tell him again how much I was interested in the role, and I did. I just came straight out. I donâ€t play coy. If thereâ€s something I want, I aggressively pursue it, and Iâ€m very vocal about it. Iâ€m not too shy to tell you that I really want something.

“So he was there, and I just went up to him and said, ‘Hey, itâ€s good to see you again,†because we met years back. I said, ‘Man, Iâ€m not going to mess around.†I was like, ‘I want this role. Tell me what Iâ€ve got to do to get this role.†I think he was just like, ‘Slow your horses. Slow your roll.†[Laughs] He wasnâ€t there yet, but he said heâ€d let me know, he was thinking about it, still thinking about the casting and everything.

“This is about a month and a half ago, now. I thought the role was gone, I thought it had been cast. I thought they moved on without me, and it wasnâ€t going to happen. Out of nowhere, I got a call, and it was a call like, ‘Hey, what do you think? You still want the role?†I was like, ‘Fuck yeah, I want the role!†He was like, ‘Iâ€m sending you the script. Iâ€ll call you tomorrow. Weâ€re going to talk about it.â€

“He sent me the script, I read it, and the next day we talked about it. I was so blown away by the script because, without saying too much, this is such a great reboot. Weâ€re still paying tribute and giving a nod to the original. But making it new and fresh and exciting, and also just universe-building. Itâ€s just so much bigger than the original. The action is on par with John Wick. Iâ€m afraid Iâ€m going to say too much.

“I donâ€t want to give anything away, but I think people are going to be blown away by this because itâ€s bigger than you imagine, and itâ€s new enough that you wonâ€t be seeing the same thing. If you saw the original, youâ€re still not going to know what the story is. Itâ€s just different, but still the same. I donâ€t know if that makes sense.

“Itâ€s in that universe, but itâ€s just something new and itâ€s different, and it gives us places to go, and itâ€s just bigger. I donâ€t want to say better than the original, because the original is just so special to me. Itâ€s special to a lot of people. But itâ€s just itâ€s bigger and itâ€s different and itâ€s special, and it feels like a newer version of the Highlander. Itâ€s just an updated, high-speed version of Highlander.â€

LA Knight did not shy away from sending a message to Jey Uso after a heel alliance was teased for the latter on WWE RAW.

The Megastar battled Jey Uso on WWE RAW. This has been a long time coming, as both Knight and Uso have failed to get on the same page and have had their differences. LA Knight was the guest referee for The Usos’ match against The Vision, which Jimmy and Jey ultimately lost. Now it seems things have gotten heated with the latest episode being the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The Vision interfered in the Jey vs Knight match and attacked the latter. However, Jey, instead of attacking the stable, took advantage of the situation and took home the victory. Later, when Jimmy came out to help Knight, Jey wasn’t interested and walked out on his brother.

LA Knight Thinks Jey Uso Has Sold Himself Out On WWE RAW

Speaking after WWE RAW, LA Knight was frustrated with what Jey did and asked whether the former World Heavyweight Champion was going by the philosophy of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them.’

I don’t know what that was, man. You know it’s crazy to think this man can come in here red hot, pissed off, but now I gotta question. Is Jey on the philosophy, if you can’t beat them, join them? I know that’s not the truth, I know that’s not what happened, but you damn sure took advantage of what they did. You damn sure took advantage of the damage. Jey, my man, not cool. Very soon, you’re gonna find out how not cool that really is.”

He then addressed the situation and stated he was going to talk about it soon, and probably do a lot more than talk about it.
