Darby Allin has always been a babyface throughout his career, but recently discussed what it might look like to turn heel.

Speaking during a recent appearance on the Maggie and Perloff show (via Fightful), Allin said heâ€d be open to anything. While his main goal will always be to do things for himself, he knows the fans are an important part of things.

“You know, honestly, itâ€s just wherever the wind takes me. And I feel a lot of fans, theyâ€re always like, ‘Darby! You donâ€t have to go crazy anymore to impress us.†Iâ€m like, ‘Iâ€m not doing it for you. Iâ€m doing it for me.†I actually love going out there and jumping off ladders or whatever it is I get myself into,†said Allin. “But I also on the flip side, I do see how fast the fans forget about you. I do see how quick they move on. Say if you got an injury or something, theyâ€re, alright, whatâ€s the next shiny toy?â€

Allin went on to say that he could see himself being a heel. However, it doesnâ€t sound like a heel turn is coming anytime soon. Currently, Allin finds himself in yet another popular run as one of the biggest babyfaces in the company. He does seem open to whatever may come, though.

“So in that sense, I could see being a heel and just straight up being like, you are so ungrateful for what it is that we do. But at the end of the day, I donâ€t do it for them so I feel like you canâ€t get mad at them for that. But, who knows? Wherever the wind takes young Darby Allin. Maybe I will go rogue…â€

A top AEW heel subtly paid tribute to WWE legend John Cena at WrestleDream.

WWE legend John Cena is retiring at the end of the year and has been going around paying tribute to a lot of his past rivals and current peers. The star has previously paid tribute to AEW’s Adam Copeland (Edge) and a few other stars. The Cena vs AJ Styles match was filled with such tributes, with The GOAT even doing the Tombstone to honor The Undertaker. Now, AEW heel Samoa Joe paid tribute to Cena at WrestleDream.

During his match against Hangman Page, the former WWE star locked in an STF on the world champion. While the STF, Cena’s submission move, is a part of Joe’s arsenal as well, the star rarely uses it. Now, however, he decided to bring it out.

AEW Star Samoa Joe Turned Heel Right After The WrestleDream Match, Where He Paid Tribute To John Cena

Immediately after losing to Hangman Page, Samoa Joe turned heel and attacked the world champion. Joe, a former champion in WWE, was accompanied by his Opps teammates, who also turned heel in the process.

It was a surreal moment to see the star go to the dark side, while also paying tribute to a babyface legend like Cena.

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)…

SHOW SUMMARY:In this weekâ€s Interview Classic episode from ten years ago (10-8-2015), PWTorch editor Wade Keller and PWTorch columnist Bruce Mitchell interviewed former WWF Champion Bob Baclund. Backlund spoke about the decision to write his 480 page autobiography, what he wrote about that he wouldnâ€t have had had written the book decades ago, and the transition from him to Hulk Hogan. After phone connection issues cut the interview short about 40 minutes into the show, Mitchell analyzed one of the major turning points in Backlundâ€s career when Vince McMahon Sr. committed to him over the surprisingly strong draw as heel champion, “Superstar” Billy Graham.

Then, in a bonus segment, a previously-VIP-Exclusive Aftershow podcast with Jason Powell that we forgot to post last week from Sept. 29, 2015 covering these topics: Reaction to the reaction to Raw and predicting next weekâ€s ratings, who were Triple Hâ€s biggest influences, evaluating Paul Heyman-Big Show segment, making an issue of Kevin Owens†weight, WWEâ€s selective acknowledgment of history, and more as they answer email questions.

Jalen Carter, who was listed as questionable ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Thursday matchup against the New York Giants, is officially inactive.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the defensive tackle won’t play because of a heel injury. He had also previously been dealing with a shoulder injury.

Thursday will mark the second game Carter has missed this season. Though he suited up for the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, he was ejected before the first snap after spitting on quarterback Dak Prescott. Carter was not suspended after the ejection, but he was fined $57,222.

Carter, the former No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, has logged 10 tackles and a tackle for loss in four games. He’s coming off an All-Pro season in which he recorded 42 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.

With Carter out, the Eagles will look to a handful of backups to step up in his place. Among those could be Ty Robinson and Gabe Hall, both of whom haven’t seen many snaps this season, but will look to make the most of what they are given on Thursday.

Philadelphia began its Super Bowl defense campaign well, winning its first four games against some quality competition. The Eagles appeared on their way to a win last week after going up 17-3 against the Denver Broncos, but ultimately couldn’t hold off a comeback as they dropped their first game.

Thursday’s matchup should be pretty manageable, even without Carter. The Giants are 1-4 heading into the matchup and pose no major threat to the defending champs.

John Cena is focused on the present.

At WWE Elimination Chamber, John Cena shocked fans when he turned heel and attacked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. What started as an exciting new creative path, however, eventually turned sour due to a glaring absence from Dwayne “The Rock†Johnson at WrestleMania 41 and a variety of other factors.

While appearing at Fan Expo Chicago, Cena was asked how he would approach his heel run differently had he known that The Rock, who involved himself in Cenaâ€s initial turn at Elimination Chamber, would remain on the sidelines afterward.

“What Iâ€m hearing is in a hypothetical universe, what different choices would you make? I will answer that with hindsight is a waste of time,†Cena said. “Letâ€s live right here and now in the excitement and adventure. We got 11 dates left. I think Iâ€ll be able to talk about all this bupkus in January after the whole thing is over. But weâ€ve taken the audience on a on a hell of a ride this year. We still got a ways left to go, so Iâ€m excited about that.â€

John Cena knows his heel run failed too

The fan initially set up the question by saying Cena expressed his frustration with that stretch during a promo he did on WWE SmackDown. This came during his SummerSlam feud with Cody Rhodes, which fans thought signaled him turning babyface again. Cena noted that he wasnâ€t upset by the crowdâ€s reaction to it, though he did feel the heel run was unsuccessful.

“I wasnâ€t upset. I just know I failed,†he said. “Ainâ€t nothing wrong with that. You can learn from failure, right? I went out there and bombed. Sh*t happens, guys.â€

The 17-time world champion eventually returned to his babyface form on the August 1 episode of SmackDown, two days before his Undisputed WWE Championship rematch against Rhodes at WWE SummerSlam. As of this writing, Cena has five dates left on his retirement tour, one of which will pit him against AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel.

WWE RAWâ€s go-home show for Crown Jewel had so many surprises and chaos. From intense backstage confrontations to post-match ambushes, every segment seemed designed to set up big moments in Perth. Fans tuned in expecting twists, but many turns played out exactly as teased all night. What should have been shocking betrayals and sudden heel shifts instead felt predictable, each development following a clear roadmap laid earlier in the build.

With only a few days until Crown Jewel, WWE pumped the brakes on subtlety and drove the storylines straight into ‘obvious’ territory.

4. Kairi Sane Stands Up Against Asuka

The match between Sane and Sky ended with Sane rolling up Sky for the win, but the real shock came after the bell rang. Asuka grabbed Skyâ€s arms behind the refereeâ€s back so that Sane could deliver the spinning back-fist and Insane Elbow. Tears filled Saneâ€s eyes as she struck her former friend, revealing she followed orders more than her own heart.

On the same show, when Asuka arranged the singles match between Sane and Sky, she was reluctant to face her family member. She even argued with the Empress of Tomorrow, who slapped Sane as she refused to follow instructions.

If things stay the same way at Crown Jewel, Sane betraying Asuka and turning on her shouldn’t surprise fans. She has been the one struggling in the middle of Sky-Asuka feud, and if she might snap if things reaches boiling point.

3. Jey Uso Snapping on Jimmy Uso

During the October 6 show, Roman Reigns confronted The Usos about loyalty and focus heading into Crown Jewel backstage. When Jimmy offered to help Reigns, Jey brusquely cut him off, declaring he had The Tribal Chiefâ€s back and stormed away. Later, Jimmy tried to calm Jey during an ambush segment with CM Punk and LA Knight. Instead of backing down, Jey confronted Jimmy in a sudden outburst, berating his brother for ‘protecting Punk’ and demanding Jimmy pick a side.

The split highlighted tension between the twins and could set up a sibling rivalry for the future.

2. The Oracle Leaves the Visionary for the Tribal Chief

In a tense locker-room scene, Seth Rollins pressed Paul Heyman on what would happen if he failed to beat Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. Heyman first assured Rollins’ victory was inevitable, but under Rollins’ insistence, he admitted that a loss would force him to question why he backed Rollins over Roman Reigns. Heyman warned that losing would cost Rollins the locker roomâ€s faith and make Heyman reconsider his allegiance. The threat of Heyman abandoning Rollins underscored the high stakes of their rivalry and cast doubt on their partnershipâ€s endurance.

1. AJ Styles Could Switch Gear Before The John Cena Match

After teaming with Dragon Lee and Penta to defeat The Judgment Day, AJ Styles grabbed a mic and vented his frustration at the backstage interference and perceived bias from WWE officials. He accused management of underestimating him and questioned their decision-making ahead of his final showdown with John Cena. Styles then delivered a sharp promo declaring that he would ‘leave everything in the ring’ and promised that his match would ‘kick a**,†embracing a more aggressive edge.

The tone shifted from respectful competitor to defiant heel, signaling a new side of Styles for their Perth collision. Over the past years, Cena has always been the face while Styles has been more towards the dark side, which worked perfectly in delivering the best rivalry of their career. If this happens before Crown Jewel, fans are guaranteed another 5-star match.

Matt Riddle is no longer the King of Bros, now calling himself The Rude Dude.

The former MLW World Champion turned heel at MLW Slaughterhouse on Saturday night in Long Beach, California. He defeated Alex Hammerstone with a low blow before turning on the fans in a post-match interview.

Riddle said:

“Well, looky looky, what do we got here? Another beta with a microphone. Why don’t you get your little dong energy out of here,” Riddle said to MLW commentator, Joe Dombrowski.

“I used to think wrestling fans were awesome, I used to think that you actually had a brain between your ears. But at the end of the day, what I’ve come to conclusion is: That you guys are a bunch of morons, bro. I’ve been working my ass off just so some fat piece of trash can sit at home in his mom’s basement, go on X, and talk that s–t? Been there done that.”

Riddle then egged the crowd on to boo him even more. Before the finish of his match with Hammerstone, heâ€d received a mixed reaction, with fans chanting “Letâ€s go Riddle/Riddle sucks.â€

“I’m going to leave with this: The King of Bros is dead and this is the era of The Rude Dude.”

Riddle is coming off having dropped the MLW World Championship at Fightland last month to Mads Krule Krugger, after Krugger cashed in his title match contract to make Riddleâ€s match against Donovan Dijak a three-way.

“I certainly didn’t expect that from the bro,” said MLW commentator and our own Tom Lawlor following Riddle’s win over Hammerstone.

In early September, Riddle and Global Wrestling Kingdom were involved in a public dispute after the promotion accused him of no-showing an event and not returning his deposit. Riddle responded that the promotion had booked him to fly out several days before the show, something he was unable to do. Shortly after, GWF confirmed that Riddle had returned the deposit.

WWE legend Randy Orton provided another subtle hint that he’s turning heel soon.

The latest episode of WWE SmackDown saw Randy Orton team up with Cody Rhodes to take on The Vision’s Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. The stars were in for a great challenge and had a heavy task ahead of them. Things were going well until Seth Rollins showed up to ruin the occasion.

However, a subtle tease from Randy Orton suggests the alliance with Cody Rhodes may not be for long.

WWE Legend Randy Orton Could Not Move His Eyes Away From The Undisputed WWE Title

Last week, Orton was seen quite ardently looking at the title before handing it over to Rhodes. The star was once again caught doing the same during a backstage segment with The American Nightmare.

Orton was having a conversation with Cody Rhodes on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown and did not move his eyes from the title.

It was an interesting tidbit into the psyche of Orton, who is unwilling to let his passion and love for the 15th world title go away just yet. The star may have to put his friendship with Rhodes on the back burner and finally turn heel for a chance to win the Undisputed Title.

It will be interesting to see how things pan out during and after Crown Jewel.

Randy Orton decided to break character after being spotted recently with one of his fiercest rivals, who happened to be this top WWE villain.

Orton and Drew McIntyre have no love lost between each other, and they’ve been going at it over the past few years, whether it’s for the WWE Championship or just a heated battle. Their last encounter was on the September 12 episode of SmackDown, where The Scottish Warrior nailed The Viper with his Claymore Kick. Fast forward, and the two have apparently called for a ceasefire and decided to spend some time together outside the ring. Orton, McIntyre, and another former WWE Champion, Sheamus, recently attended an event organized by popular YouTuber and influencer, IShowSpeed.

During Speed’s event, The Viper was seen having a good time with The Celtic Warrior and The Scottish Warrior, which was really interesting considering that they had just feuded with each other this past month. IShowSpeed (real name: Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) launched his new series Speed Goes Pro!,which tackled his sporting and athletic activities, including his WWE appearances at WrestleMania XL and the 2025 Royal Rumble.

The premier happened at the Los Angeles Coliseum on September 30th.

Check out the photo below:

Orton was featured in the trailer and one of the episodes itself alongside other sports and entertainment giants such as NFL legend Tom Brady, 2020 Gold Medalist for gymnastics Suni Lee, competitive eater Joey Chestnut, and former NBA MVP Kevin Durant.

IShowSpeed Tried To Sneak In on WWE Legend Randy Orton

During the Speed Goes Pro!launch, IShowSpeed slowly approached Randy Orton by attempting his RKO. The Viper’s wife, Kim Orton, then warned her husband, but the 20-year-old decided not to pull the trigger, in a funny and light-spirited manner, as the former WWE Champion turned around to meet him.

The two talked with one another and discussed doing something in the next few weeks, seemingly pertaining to Speed’s upcoming series.

It can be remembered that IShowSpeed got involved in Randy Orton’s WrestleMania XL match against Logan Paul by pushing him, while disguised as a Prime Bottle mascot. However, things didn’t end well for Speed when he fell victim to The Viper’s brutal RKO on the announce table.

WWE Hall of Famer “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry believes that if Randy Orton is to have another run as WWE Champion, it must be as a heel. In a recent interview, Henry made a passionate case for Orton to return to his heel roots, arguing that “The Viper” is one of the few superstars in history who is definitively better as a heel than a babyface.

Orton has been a beloved fan favorite since his return from a career-threatening back injury, but Henry feels that a return to the heel persona that defined much of his career is the “tailor-made” story for his next main event run. Speaking with TMZ, the former World Heavyweight Champion explained exactly what he wants to see from a future Randy Orton championship reign.

“I wouldn’t want Randy to be champion as good guy Randy. I want Randy… the story is tailor made. Have Randy come in now and start punting people again, RKO’ing people’s grandmothers and children. Have him stomping people. Let Randy be Randy.â€

He emphasized that Orton’s greatest strength has always been his ability to be a compelling and hated villain.

“I don’t know if you can say more definitively that a guy’s a better heel than he was a babyface.â€

Henry also compared Orton’s current situation to that of John Cena, who is in the midst of his farewell tour.

“I think Randy wants to be in the same regard as Cena. He deserves it too. But while Cena is doing that, you can’t actively have two people doing the same story.â€
