After being embarrassed by AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander at WrestleDream, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has issued a title challenge to Statlander for November’s Full Gear pay-per-view.
After Statlander was celebrating her title defense over Toni Storm Saturday, Mone interrupted her moment and told her to get out of her ring. Statlander acquiesced, but returned after Mone won her record 11th simultaneous title to gain a measure of revenge, laying Mone out and sending her packing.
Later in the night, Mone issues the challenge in a backstage promo. Statlander has yet to answer as of this writing.
Once official, it would be their third singles meeting. They have twice squared off for the TBS title during Mone’s record run, once at last year’s Full Gear and again at Worlds End. In both cases, Mone picked up the win.
Mone unsuccessfully challenged then-Women’s World Champion Storm at this past July’s All In Texas.
Mone will look to add to her record with a 12th title on Sunday at a Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, indie show against Jody Threat.
Full Gear is set for Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday, November 22.

While golf clubs are the main point of consumerism for our sport, there are thousands upon thousands of other golf products designed to improve your golf experience or play.
But there’s always a question of what is actually worth your hard-earned dollars.
This year, I’ve gotten to test dozens of new products, from bags to rangefinders to golf club cleaners. As you decide what might be your next purchase for yourself or your favorite golfer, here are my seven favorite new products from the last year to help you make up your mind.
Sun Mountain Matchplay Swift Sunday golf bag
I am a walking golfer, no exceptions. So when I first laid eyes on Sun Mountain’s Matchplay Swift Sunday bag at the PGA Show, I knew it was for me.
It has just a 5-inch top, but it fits a full set of 14 clubs and it’s super easy to carry. Lightweight, exactly the number of pockets I need and a super sturdy stand. This has become my go-to travel golf bag.

Sun Mountain Matchplay Swift Sunday
Elevate your game with The Matchplay Swift Sunday, designed for the golfer who values simplicity and efficiency. Featuring a 5.25-inch 3-way top, this bag offers a minimalist approach to club organization, perfect for those who prefer to keep their gear light.
The single strap system ensures easy and comfortable handling throughout your round. With six well-appointed pockets, including a customizable zip-off ball pocket face, this bag provides just the right amount of storage for your essentials while allowing for personal customization. Embrace a sleek, lightweight design that doesn’t compromise on style or functionality with the Matchplay Swift Sunday.
Jones Sports Co. Trunk Caddie
My trunk became a mess this season when I started using a remote power trolley and kept it in my car.
Just this simple trunk organizer from Jones has helped me immensely by allowing me to store my shoes vertically and giving me a place to throw golf balls, jackets and other miscellaneous items that were just floating in my trunk.

Trunk Caddie – Charcoal
The Trunk Caddie is the perfect organizer for the back of your car or trunk. Designed with convenience in mind, it folds neatly with a snap closure when not in use and expands accordion-style to hold all your essentials. Featuring multiple compartments, it keeps your gear secure and organized, making it ideal for trips to the course or everyday errands. Durable and compact, the Trunk Caddie ensures your trunk stays tidy and efficient.
The new series features a recycled, ripstop material, woven from 100% PET single-use plastic bottles. The most innovative, durable, and water-resistant fabric to date, the series supports Jones’ commitment towards a more sustainable future. Tested and proven in the ever-changing climate of the Pacific Northwest.
Sun Day Red Osprey golf shoes
I’m not a spiked shoe guy, so Sun Day Red’s first footwear releases didn’t really catch my eye, but their newest release, the Osprey, really surprised me.
I guess I shouldn’t have been shocked that a shoe designed for Tiger Woods would be super stable, but it’s without doubt SDR’s most comfortable shoe so far, too.
Read my full review here.
Sun Day Red Osprey Golf Shoes
A versatile golf shoe that seamlessly transitions from office to course, combining performance materials with minimalist design for the modern golfer’s lifestyle. Available in four core colourways. Where performance meets versatility, across the diverse terrains of an active life. The Sun Day Red Osprey stands as the perfect companion for those who move seamlessly between worlds—from office meetings to afternoon tee times, from casual dinners to weekend adventures. Crafted with premium materials and subtle sophistication, this shoe delivers the comfort needed for all-day wear and the performance required for confident strides on any surface. Tiger has made the Osprey his go-to shoe for life’s off-course moments—from casual outings to making statement entrances at TGL events—reflecting his understanding that today’s golfer needs footwear that performs across all aspects of a dynamic life.
Bushnell A1-Slope rangefinder
I got several new rangefinders this year, but my favorite was actually the simplest and the smallest.
Bushnell’s new A1-Slope rangefinder fits very nicely in my hand and adds no weight to my golf bag when I play.
Bushnell A1-Slope
Precision and Slope Gone Ultra-Compact – the A1-Slope is the smallest Bushnell Golf laser rangefinder ever and features our patented, Tour-trusted Slope Technology.
Golf Pride Reverse Taper Small
I’ve never used a putter grip like the Golf Pride Reverse Taper. As someone with smaller hands, but still wants to use an “oversized” putter grip, the new RT smalls fit perfectly in my hands.
The unique larger lower-hand section of the RT also really makes my right hand feel like it’s working for my stroke, rather than against.
Read my full review here.
Golf Pride Reverse Taper Pistol (Small)
Reverse Taper putter grip technology stabilizes both hands for a more square putter face at impact. A pistol kick on the back of the grip locks the heel pad of the upper hand to the putter grip and the slim upper hand and wide lower hand offers enhanced control, no matter your gripping style. Featuring a dimpled pattern throughout to boost traction and a soft, tacky feel that plays well in all conditions.
Garmin R50 launch monitor
If you want an all-in-one launch monitor and simulator system that doesn’t even require a screen, the Garmin R50 is your answer.
Not only is it an optical launch monitor system, which makes it more accurate indoors, but the huge screen also makes it an easy transformation for your backyard hitting net. The applications are almost endless.

Garmin Approach R50
Play year-round with Approach R50 — the premium golf simulator and launch monitor that puts you on course to play your best game from drive to putt.
ALSO AVAILABLE ON: Amazon, Garmin
Grooveit Mini-G brush
I never realized how useful a club brush would be to me until I tried the Grooveit Mini-G. This is the same brush that you see PGA Tour pros clip to their belt loops while their on the range and I see why so many do it.
No longer do I need to go back to my golf bag to wipe off my clubface every few swings. And now, they have NCAA-licensed options so I can rep my Penn State Nittany Lions (despite their performance on the football field this season…).
Read Zephyr Melton’s review here.
Penn State University miniG – A-380 Aluminum Body
We Are… Penn State!
Trusted by pros and weekend warriors alike, the Aluminum Penn State Grooveit MiniG delivers elite performance in a compact, stylish package. Based on the tour‑favorite Grooveit MiniG, now with a sleek custom A-380 aluminum body showcasing the team logo.
For years, Erik van Rooyen‘s bag was a throwback, going from driver to 3-wood (or Apex UW in recent years) and then straight into a driving iron and his iron set.
But over the past year, van Rooyen has taken up some of the Tour’s most popular trends by adding a mini driver, 5-wood and even testing out a 9-wood at the U.S. Open.
Van Rooyen is far from the only pro swapping out utility irons for high-lofted fairway woods and adding a mini driver, but he explained on this week’s episode of GOLF’s Fully Equipped how he went from being a reluctant tester to taking up both trends.
“I’ve never been the guy to test a ton of stuff and to change a ton of stuff. But I think my eyes have opened up to other possibilities,” van Rooyen told Fully Equipped co-host Johnny Wunder. “The Mini came into the bag in Utah of last year, so it’s almost been 12 months. It pretty much hasn’t left the bag. It’s freaking awesome. Off the deck, off the tee, so consistent.”
Callaway Elyte Mini Driver
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Top of the Bag Versatility
More forgiving and easier to launch than a fairway wood, the Elyte Mini Driver is an excellent alternative when precision off the tee is paramount.
Features neutral, fade, and draw settings for customized ball flight control.
Elyte Speed from Enhanced Shaping
The all-new Elyte shape provides enhanced aerodynamics for Elyte speed throughout the entire golf swing.
The improved shape is designed to maximize swing speed with improved forgiveness and launch conditions.
Ai Advancements for Optimal Distance, Control, and Launch
Our most advanced Ai face to date, the new Ai10x Face delivers 10x more control points than the Ai Smart Face™.
Designed to produce exceptionally fast ball speeds, tight dispersion, and optimized launch across the face.
ALSO AVAILABLE AT: PGA Tour Superstore
When it comes to the fairway woods, which are a big deal for van Rooyen at all as he solely played an Apex Utility Wood as his “3-wood” for several years, the 5-wood and occasional 7-wood have become course-dependent options.
Callaway even gave him a 9-wood to try at the U.S. Open.
“It’s more, I think, coming from a place of curiosity, trying to let the equipment help me instead of me, like trying to figure something out, muscle a three iron through this heavy rough, you know?” van Rooyen said. “It’s taken me a long time to get to this point where you realize, there’s so much you can do to make the club change. If it’s too draw bias, you know, you can do something on the heel or change the setting in the driver.”

The New York Rangers will be firmly under the spotlight in 2025-26 since it is their 100th season in franchise history, and goaltender Igor Shesterkin honored that history Tuesday.
Shesterkin took the ice for the season opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins with special centennial season gear. He also had a mask with a Big Apple that had the number 100 in the middle of it:
The Rangers are one of the Original Six teams alongside the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs and have an extensive history.
That history features four Stanley Cup titles and a legendary Hall of Fame goaltender in Henrik Lundqvist.
Lundqvist set the standard for so long, but Shesterkin has the chance to carve out his own memorable legacy with the historic team. The 29-year-old already won the 2021-22 Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goalie and was an All-Star in 2023 and 2024.
He has a career save percentage of .917 and a goals against average of 2.52 and will look to lead the Rangers to the playoffs for the fourth time in five years. They advanced as far as the Eastern Conference Final in two of those postseason appearances.
However, he is still chasing his first Stanley Cup of his career, which is an accomplishment that would feel quite fitting in the Rangers’ 100th season.
It’s common knowledge at this point that if an average golfer wants to improve their game, they shouldn’t be modeling their bag after a PGA Tour pro, but rather an LPGA or PGA Tour Champions player.
PGA Tour pros have insane swing speeds and are able to play shots that courses just weren’t designed for. They have very different golf clubs to meet their needs.
On the flip side, LPGA and older pros have much slower swing speeds and play courses more as the architects intended. That results in a very different golf bag setup and it’s one the average golfer can learn a lot from.

On this week’s episode of GOLF’s Fully Equipped, co-host Jake Morrow, speaking from this week’s Epson Tour Championship, explained how all of the the players there leave their ego at the door when it comes to golf clubs.
Morrow explained that in filming multiple “What’s in the Bag” videos that day, he saw multiple players who had no irons longer than an 8-iron.
“I think replacing long irons with hybrids until the point that you’re comfortable is an extremely underrated equipment story, right?” Morrow said. “Like, if it’s a 7-hybrid, then it’s a 7-hybrid and who cares?
“If you hit your number and the ball stops where you want it to, then that’s great. And nobody should tell you that that’s wrong. Nobody should judge you for that.”
On the PGA Tour, players have largely rendered traditional 2- and 3-irons extinct, with the 4-iron coming next. Morrow was seeing lots of 7-hybrids this week.
The fact of the matter is that hybrids and high-lofted fairway woods are significantly easier to hit than the equivelent irons, and if some of the most precise and demanding ballstrikers on the planet are opting for them, then there’s no reason for an average golfer to play a set consisting of driver, 3-wood, 5-wood and 4i-PW.
For more from Morrow, co-host Johnny Wunder and this week’s guest, GOLF’s Maddi MacClurg, listen to the full episode of GOLF’s Fully Equipped here or watch it below.
