The next pay-per-view offering from All Elite Wrestling will be the seventh-annual Full Gear event on November 22, which returns to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for the second consecutive year. No matches have been officially signed, but it was confirmed on the “Tailgate Brawl” portion of AEW WrestleDream that ‘Big Boom’ AJ and Big Justice will make their return to the company, with AJ throwing out the challenge to Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero of the Don Callis Family for a tag team match. During the latest edition of “Wrestling Observer Radio,“ Dave Meltzer speculated on who AJ’s partner will be, and judging by what’s been happening on “ROH on HonorCiub,” the partner will be someone AJ knows very well.

“So the match is going to be at Full Gear, which I kind of figured, they had issued the challenge weeks ago. Apparently from ROH TV it looks like it’s going to be QT [Marshall] as the mystery partner for AJ against Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta.” The match had initially been teased during a post on the official AEW X (formerly known as Twitter) account at the start of October, but it wasn’t until WrestleDream where the match was set up on television.

Both Full Gear and the Prudential Center itself have a special place in the heart of AJ and his family as it was in that arena at AEW Full Gear 2024 where the social media star made his AEW debut. He would go on to defeat QT Marshall on that night, with a little help from Big Justice along the way, and earned a lot of respect from people within AEW after it was revealed that AJ broke his foot during the match, but decided to keep going.

After being embarrassed by AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander at WrestleDream, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has issued a title challenge to Statlander for November’s Full Gear pay-per-view.

After Statlander was celebrating her title defense over Toni Storm Saturday, Mone interrupted her moment and told her to get out of her ring. Statlander acquiesced, but returned after Mone won her record 11th simultaneous title to gain a measure of revenge, laying Mone out and sending her packing.

Later in the night, Mone issues the challenge in a backstage promo. Statlander has yet to answer as of this writing.

Once official, it would be their third singles meeting. They have twice squared off for the TBS title during Mone’s record run, once at last year’s Full Gear and again at Worlds End. In both cases, Mone picked up the win.

Mone unsuccessfully challenged then-Women’s World Champion Storm at this past July’s All In Texas.

Mone will look to add to her record with a 12th title on Sunday at a Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, indie show against Jody Threat.

Full Gear is set for Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday, November 22.

Home-field advantage goes to the team with the best record. If the teams have the same record, home-field advantage will be determined by tiebreakers.

The Brewers finished the regular season with the best record in baseball at 97-65. However, since they were eliminated by the Dodgers during the NLCS, home-field advantage for the World Series is up for grabs.

If the Mariners (90-72) win the American League pennant, the Dodgers (93-69) would have home-field advantage. If the Blue Jays (94-68) come back to beat the Mariners, they would have home-field over the Dodgers.

What Are The Replay Rules for the 2025 MLB Playoffs?

Managers get just one challenge during the regular season, but they are afforded two challenges in the postseason. If a challenge is successful, the manager keeps their challenge; they lose one of their challenges if the original call is confirmed. From the eighth inning onward, the crew chief can still review certain calls if a team has exhausted their challenges.

Will the Runner-on-Second Rule Apply in Extra Innings During the 2025 MLB Playoffs?

No. As opposed the regular season, the bases will be empty to begin extra innings and the game will be played under those circumstances until completion.

Can MLB Teams Replace Injured Players During the Playoffs?

Yes. Teams can replace an injured player during a series, but that player will be deemed ineligible for the remainder of the series and the following round should the team advance.

Additionally, a pitcher may only be replaced by another pitcher and a position player may only be replaced by another position player.

MLB Postseason Roster Eligibility Rules Explained

Any player on the 40-man roster or injured list as of noon ET on September 1 is eligible for the postseason. Players who were in the organization (and not on the 40-man roster) by that deadline may also replace someone on the 10-day or 60-day injured list, provided the injured player has served the minimum required time (10 days for the 10-day IL, 60 days for the 60-day IL). The substitute must also be added to the 40-man roster before joining the postseason roster.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a commanding 3-0 lead over the Milwaukee Brewers as they head into Game 4 of the NLCS tonight. While it appears that the Dodgers may be poised to win the whole thing, I’d like to remind Brewers fans of the Red Sox’ come-from-behind win at the 2004 ALCS where they were also down 0-3 and came back to not just defeat the Yankees over the next four games, but win the whole championship. If the Curse of the Bambino can be broken, so too can the Curse of the, uh, Brewbino.

The winner of this series will face the winner of the ALCS between the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners at the World Series, which is scheduled to begin Friday, Oct. 24.

Mariners over Dodgers in 6

All due respect to the Blue Jays and Brewers, who fully deserved the No. 1 seeds they carried into this postseason, but a Mariners-Dodgers championship clash feels more like a fight between baseball’s two best teams.

L.A.’s resume speaks for itself. The Dodgers were World Series champs last season, then flexed their fully loaded roster by pacing themselves in what was still a 93-win effort. As a result, they are peaking at the perfect time and, frankly, almost have this inevitable feeling about them.

Yet, the Mariners are giving real team-of-destiny vibes. They’ve already matched their most LCS wins in franchise history (two), they’ve been surging since early September and they might have the best blend of stars, depth, sluggers, speedsters, starters and back-end bullpen arms of any team—or have a collection that at least can from a viable argument against the Dodgers’.

Maybe we’re blinded by the feel-great potential here for the Mariners’ first ever trip to the World Series to end in a champagne-soaked celebration. Or maybe this is the recognition of how great this group can be. This lineup is better than it has shown in the postseason, and this pitching staff can dominate any point of a game. Seattle has what it will take to stop L.A. from becoming baseball’s first repeat champion in 25 years.

Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda and Hawi Feysa Gejia of Ethiopia are the 2025 Chicago Marathon champions in a race that also featured a new American record on the men’s side.

Kiplimo won the men’s competition with a time of two hours, two minutes and 23 seconds, which was enough to outpace fellow podium-finishers Amos Kipruto and Alex Masai.

Conner Mantz of the United States finished in fourth place and set the American record with a time of two hours, four minutes and 43 seconds.

As for the women’s competition, Feysa broke free in the latter portion of the race and cruised to a win.

Here is a look at the top finishers:

It seemed like Kiplimo would challenge for a world record since he was under pace for approximately 22 hours. He ultimately fell short of the 2:00:35 world record, which was set at the 2023 Chicago Marathon by Kelvin Kiptum.

However, this year’s victor still needed a strong finish to hold off Kipruto. That it was Kiplimo’s second career marathon made it all the more impressive.

As for Mantz, he broke Khalid Khannouchi’s American record of 2:05:38 from the 2002 London Marathon by nearly a full minute. Khannouchi was part of NBC Chicago’s coverage and joked with Mantz, “What took you so long?”

On the women’s side, Feysa added to her resume that also includes the 2025 Tokyo Marathon bronze medal. She seized control around the 18th mile and defeated Megertu Alemu by nearly three minutes.

The Chicago Marathon is always highly anticipated as one of the three World Marathon Majors in the United States, and this year was certainly no different.

Ashley Tysiac of Runner’s Worldcalled the men’s competition “one of the deepest fields” of the year with reigning champion John Korir returning to face a field that included half marathon world-record holder Kiplimo and Mantz.

It has also been just two years since Kiptum set the 2:00:35 world record in Chicago, and record watch is always an area of focus in the Windy City.

As for the women’s competition, Tysiac called it a “wide-open” field since reigning champion and world record-holder Ruth Chepngetich is suspended after a positive drug test. Tysiac highlighted Ethiopians Alemu and Feysa as candidates to take home the title.

That was quite a prediction considering they finished in first and second place.

All of the runners were facing a course that travels through some of Chicago’s most famous neighborhoods, including Lincoln Park, Old Town, Greek Town, Little Town and Chinatown. Much of the race runs parallel to Lake Michigan, and runners finished at Grant Park.

And nobody finished faster than Kiplimo for the men and Feysa for the women.

Xander Schauffele captured his first PGA Tour title since the 2024 Open Championship at the Baycurrent Classic and with it, $1,314,000.

Max Greyserman, who was seeking his first-ever Tour victory, tried to keep pace with the two-time major champion but settled for second and $795,700.

For the first time in the history of the event, WWE Crown Jewel will not take place in Saudi Arabia as the 2025 edition of the Premium Live Event will be taking place in Perth, Australia on October 11 at the RAC Arena. Five matches are booked for the show, including two very special championship contests and one final showdown between two of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. With all that in mind, here is the full and final card for WWE Crown Jewel 2025.

The two championship contests will see the top champions of both “WWE Raw” and “WWE SmackDown” go head-to-head to determine the WWE Crown Jewel Champions. In the women’s division, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton will represent the blue side of WWE as she takes on WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer (representing “Raw”) for the very first time. On the men’s side of things, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will cross paths for their first televised singles bout since their iconic Hell in a Cell match back in 2022. If Rhodes leaves Perth with the victory, he’ll become the first man in WWE history to win the WWE Crown Jewel Championship twice having beaten Gunther for the title at the 2024 event.

In tag team action, the dream team of IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley will take on two women who have not been happy this new alliance between the former WWE Women’s World Champions, Asuka and Kairi Sane, The Kabuki Warriors. Asuka has been the main antagonist when it comes to SKY being aligned with Ripley, to the point where she has sprayed Ripley with mist and even attacked SKY in recent weeks. SKY was originally conflicted about Sane and Asuka’s behavior towards Ripley, but after being attacked by her now former Damage CTRL stablemates, the tag team match at Crown Jewel was SKY’s idea.

The Last Time Is Now

The most high-profile match on the card to not have anything on the line is arguably the most historically significant as John Cena will not only wrestle his final match in Australia, but it will also be his final match outside of the United States.Â

The 17-time World Champion will go one-on-one with “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, rekindling their rivalry from 2016 and 2017 that is widely regarded as one of the best in-ring feuds of the modern era. Cena threw out the idea on social media where he asked his fans what they thought of Cena and Styles having one more match before he retires, which led to Styles taking Cena up on his offer and Paul “Triple H” Levesque making the match official shortly after. The bout will not only be Cena’s final match in Australia, but it will likely be the final time the fans down under will Styles wrestle as well as he recently confirmed that he will be hanging up his own boots at some point 2026.

Rounding out the card will be an Australian Street Fight between Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed. Reigns has been feuding with The Vision since Paul Heyman turned on him at WrestleMania 41, but Reigns has gotten the better of Reed at both SummerSlam and Clash in Paris in recent months. However, Reed and Bron Breakker forced Reigns to leave France on a stretcher, and “The Tribal Chief” has been looking for revenge ever since. Reigns even went as far as to challenge Reed to a fight on a recent episode of “Raw,” only for Heyman to step in and say that the only way Reigns could get his hands on Reed was in an Australian Street Fight at Crown Jewel, something that Reigns was more than happy to accept.

Crown Jewel will stream live on ESPN DTC at 8AM Eastern Time, 5AM on the west coast. International viewers can stream the show live on Netflix, with fans in the United Kingdom having a 1PM start time.

The Cleveland Browns have featured a rotating carousel of quarterbacks throughout their history and have the infamous fan jersey to prove it, so maybe it shouldn’t be surprising they are paying eight different signal-callers this year.

After Cleveland traded Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals, Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac provided an updated look at the overall cap hits for the eight different quarterbacks the Browns are paying:

It’s safe to say that’s not exactly how teams want their books to look, and the Deshaun Watson number in particular is an anchor on the salary cap and team’s overall outlook.

Cleveland surely envisioned him being the franchise cornerstone for years after acquiring him, but poor play, suspensions and injuries have prevented that from happening.

The team’s quarterback room was once again thrown under the spotlight this offseason when it decided to select Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round of the draft. That pick alone would have generated headlines given the amount of attention Sanders receives, but it came just two rounds after the Browns also took Dillon Gabriel.

Now even after the Flacco trade, there are plenty of fans paying attention to see if Sanders will eventually get an opportunity to play or if Gabriel will remain in the starting role.

At this point, the Browns are 1-4 and seem to already be playing out the string on what will be a lost season. Getting Gabriel and perhaps Sanders some experience will help them decide what to do with the position down the line, but there is no surefire answer in place providing reason for significant optimism moving forward.

Which is unfortunate for the front office because it is certainly paying enough quarterbacks to expect at least one long-term answer to emerge.

When “Full Swing” debuted on Netflix in 2023, the series was the first of its kind in pro golf, offering an in-depth, insider look at some of the game’s most famous names and the intricacies of their competitive and personal lives.

The series was released at an opportune time, too — the golf world had recently split into PGA Tour and LIV Golf silos, and tensions were high. Viewership numbers reflected fans’ intense interest in the emerging power struggles between the two tours and their stars.

And according to Sports Business Journal’s Josh Carpenter, there’s more to come, with a fourth season reportedly on the way. “Sources anticipate a six-episode season,” Carpenter said on X. The first two seasons of “Full Swing” had eight episodes, while the third season had six.

Details on what will be covered in Season 4 have yet to be announced, but there’s plenty of fodder to work with, from Rory McIlroy’s redemptive win at the Masters to clinch the career Grand Slam to Scottie Scheffler’s six-win season. Netflix cameras were also rolling at the recent Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, where Keegan Bradley captained the U.S. team to a 15-13 loss to the Europeans. Bradley’s storyline is another likely focal point, as his gutted reaction to being left off the 2023 Ryder Cup team in Rome remains one of “Full Swing’s” most memorable moments.

A release date for Season 4 has not yet been announced, but if it follows the cadence of the previous three seasons, viewers can expect the episodes to drop sometime in February or March next year.
