INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin will undergo surgery to repair a partial stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, the team announced Friday.
“Probably not recommend talking about this again until probably Feb. 1, [in] three months,” coach Rick Carlisle said before the Pacers played the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night. “That’s his situation.”

According to Carlisle, Toppin will have surgery Monday in New York to place a screw in his foot.
Toppin was limited to 17 minutes during last Sunday’s loss at Minnesota before exiting because of the injury. He was averaging 14 points and 6.7 rebounds.
The Pacers are decimated by injuries. Entering the season, Indiana already expected to be without point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who is out for the season because of a torn Achilles, and backup T.J. McConnell, who was expected to miss the first month because of a left hamstring strain. But now Bennedict Mathurin is considered week-to-week because of a right big toe sprain, and fellow starting guard Andrew Nembhard left the team’s season opener because of a strained left shoulder. Also out against Atlanta on Friday were reserves Johnny Furphy (left foot bone bruise) and Kam Jones (lower back stress reaction).
IND Vs AUS Live: The Indian Cricket Team has been dismissed for 125 runs in the ongoing T20I against Australia. This came after a major top-order collapse, followed by a brilliant knock on a difficult pitch by Abhishek Sharma.
The second of five Australia vs India T20Is is currently underway, being played at the MCG in Melbourne, Australia. The first match was washed off due to rain. For this game, the home side won the toss and decided to bowl first.
IND Vs AUS Live: Indian Batters Forget the Textbook, Get Wondered by Bouncers
The pair of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma came out to open the Indian batting. And while Sharma started attacking from the very first over, Gill struggled from the get-go, eventually getting out for five runs off 10 deliveries. Josh Hazlewood dismissed him.
This brought in wicketkeeper Sanju Samson to bat at No. 3, being pushed up the batting order for this match. However, he did not stay on the pitch long. He made only two out of four balls.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav came in at No.4 and made only a single run before becoming Hazelwoodâ€s second wicket. And then, in the same over, Tilak Varma got out for a duck.
Within five overs, the Indian Cricket Team’s score was 32/4. For this entire time, Abhishek had been carrying the scoreline, having made most of his teamâ€s runs. Axar Patel came in at No. 6, made just seven runs, and got out in the eighth over, leaving the score at 49/5.
Next up, an unlikely partnership, as Abhishek Sharma paired up with Harshit Rana, who was inexplicably sent in ahead of Shivam Dube at No. 7. The two men spent almost eight overs on the crease together. In this time, while Sharma reached the 50-run mark, Rana stayed firm on a challenging track, eventually getting out after making 35 runs in 33 deliveries.
After Rana was dismissed in the 16th over, the rest of the Indian batting order was not here to stay for long. After Dubeâ€s dismissal for four, and Kuldeep Yadav & Jasprit Bumrah getting out for ducks, Abhishek finally lost his wicket after making 68 off 37.
India was all out for 125 in 18.4 overs; 54.4% of these runs were made by Abhishek.
While Australia are the heavy favourites to win this match now, seeing how the Indian batting collapsed, that just might happen again.

WWE
Former WWE wrestler Ridge Holland parted ways with the promotion recently after announcing that WWE opted to not re-sign him whilst he was nursing his foot injury. Unfortunately, in a recent post shared on his social media, Holland added that he not only has had to deal with his foot, but that he had another undisclosed injury beforehand.
“Next Tuesday, I’ve got to go to Birmingham, Alabama, to have the cast cut off,” Holland explained. “[I’ll get] some more x-rays to make sure that the foot’s all good and we can go, possibly, to partial weight bearing, but the kicker is: prior to the foot, I had a neck injury. … They got imaging for that post-foot surgery, and I’m going to Birmingham also to see the next specialist, so … worst-case scenario, I’ll need neck surgery.”Â
He also noted that he’s had some nerve impingements lately, sending pain down his arm as well, and admitted that he’s a bit apprehensive about the next move.
“It’s just another kick in the balls, really. It never rains, it pours!”
Following his departure from WWE, a Fightful Select report added more details to the situation, claiming that Holland was offered a new contract from the promotion in November last year, with a pay downgrade and bumping him down to “NXT.” The report further claimed that Holland had to take about a $200,000 decrease in pay and that he wasn’t offered anything more for working in TNA, where he suffered his injury. Moreso, the report also claimed that the NXT locker room reacted negatively to his departure, with one source opining that WWE prior to 2020 would’ve continued paying Holland while he recovered from his foot injury.

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely is expected to make his 2025 NFL season debut in Sunday’s Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs after sitting out three games with a broken foot, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
“Baltimore wants him to work out beforehand to make sure he’s comfortable. But the plan is for him to go,” Rapoport wrote.
The Ravens (1-2) are set to kick off against the Chiefs (1-2) at Arrowhead Stadium at 4:25 p.m. ET.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh first told reporters in July that Likely would undergo surgery after suffering a broken bone in his foot.
Likely later said he suffered the injury after landing on his ankle “a little wrong” in a one-on-one with safety Sanoussi Kane (h/t BaltimoreRavens.com’s Kevin Eck).
Kane then stepped on his foot by accident, Likely said. A MRI later revealed a crack in his fifth metatarsal bone.
The tight end began practicing with the Ravens ahead of the team’s Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions, and returned to practice in full capacity for the first time on Friday.
Harbaugh said after Likely rejoined practice that the tight end could potentially make his season debut against the Chiefs.
“It just depends on what’s best for us and the team,” Harbaugh said Friday (h/t BaltimoreRavens.com’s Ryan Mink). “We’ll watch the tape, see how his numbers look. It’s going to be a tough environment. He practiced one week, but he looked really good.
“So is he ready to go in this game against those guys and play at the top, top level and help us win this game? Or is somebody else more suited? But he could do it. He looks good to me. We’ll just have to see if it’s the best thing for us on Sunday.”
Likely ranked as Lamar Jackson’s fourth-most targeted teammate last season, finishing the 2024 campaign with 42 catches for 477 receiving yards with six touchdowns.
His return will give Jackson another option as the Ravens look to recover from a disappointing start to the season with their first road win of the campaign.
