A video showing a young fan being devastated after the loss of their favorite WWE star led said wrestler to share a heartfelt and determined response to comfort the distraught fan.
During last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, United States Champion Ilja Dragunov continued his weekly challenge that led to Carmelo Hayes stepping to the plate to get a chance at winning his first singles title on the main roster.
While he put up an impressive performance, and it looked like he had the match won, it was stolen by Tomasso Ciampa, who interfered in the contest when referee Charles Robinson was attending to Dragunov. The Blackheart tripped Hayes, who was on the top turnbuckle, which led to Dragunov inadvertently capitalizing on the distraction and retaining his title.
Young WWE Fan Devastated At Loss Consoled By Carmelo Hayes
This loss devastated a lot of fans; however, it seemed to have a great effect on a young fan whose mother took to her social media to share a clip of the child seeming distraught at his favorite wrestler’s loss and could be seen crying.
Carmelo Hayes responded to said clip via his X/Twitter with a determined message to come back stronger, stating that his time to shine was coming soon. He wrote:
“This reminds me never to forget or downplay the impact we have. My time is coming lil man 💪ðŸ¾ðŸ«¡”

Fans praised this move by the former NXT Champion. When he debuted on the main roster last year, as the third overall draft pick, fans were excited to see how he would be treated on the main roster, as Hayes had built considerable hype around him during his time in NXT.
However, they have been disappointed with the way he has been treated, with many claiming that World Wrestling Entertainment is wasting his potential on the main roster. How Hayes bounces back from this massive loss remains to be seen, but if his message to the young fan is any indication, fans can expect him to build up his wins and hopefully win gold soon.
Saraya shared details of an inappropriate fan encounter from a recent signing on the latest episode of her podcast.
On an episode of Rulebreakers published on Thursday, December 4, Saraya noted that at a recent signing in Chicago, a fan inappropriately touched her. Saraya and her guests were discussing Ariana Grande being recently accosted by a fan at the Wicked: For Good premiere when she said:
“Lately, I feel thereâ€s been an influx of certain fans feeling way too comfortable to be grabbing on females. Just this past weekend in Chicago, a fan decided he wanted to slap my ass three times in a row because he thought it was funny, and security didnâ€t do a f—king thing.â€
She said security later approached her and asked whether she wanted the person escorted out of the building.
She continued:
“They did give me a security guard in the end and he was great, which is fine, but the fans are getting way too comfortable. This is the second time this year a fan has touched me, tried to kiss me, and slap my ass.â€
She later added:
“Nine times out of 10, all the fans are great, but you always get at least one per signing that gets a little too comfortable, a little too handsy, or thinks they have this parasocial relationship with you. But I feel like itâ€s happening to everyone.â€
Several wrestlers have also complained about recent fan encounters in recent weeks, including Jey Uso, who recently asked fans not to touch or poke him in public.
Saraya parted ways with AEW in March and has not wrestled in 2025. She noted recently on her podcast that sheâ€s spent the past year exploring projects outside wrestling, but has started to miss it, though she didnâ€t confirm any plans to return.
Sarayaâ€s comments begin around the 43-minute and 42-second mark of the interview (video cued below):

Kris Statlander has an interesting take on her wrestling fandom, or lack thereof.
AEW Womenâ€s World Champion Kris Statlander was a recent guest on The Ringer Wrestling Show. When asked about her fandom, Statlander explained why she never considered herself a wrestling fan, but believes sheâ€s more of a fan now than she used to be.
“Iâ€m much more of a fan of wrestling now than I was. I donâ€t really watch it that often unless itâ€s like big shows. And obviously, my job, unless itâ€s AEW. I do see myself more as an athlete, or thatâ€s how I try to talk to myself when Iâ€m not at work, when Iâ€m at home, and I need to focus on nutrition and training and stuff like that … I donâ€t like to consider myself a wrestling fan because people who are just wrestling fans hate wrestling more than anything.
“So I didnâ€t want to be a pro wrestler. I didnâ€t know what wrestling was until I started training … I was very much just like, oh, weâ€ll see what happens. Weâ€ll see where I go with this. I never really had the goal to get signed or to win a belt or anything like that. It was something fun for me to do that was physical, and then I ended up being pretty good at it, and here I am now. But I feel like I was weird and I was very awkward, socially awkward.†[H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
Kris Statlander will be in action on AEW Collision
Statlander is scheduled to team up with Jamie Hayter next week to take on the Sisters of Sin at AEW Collision: Winter is Coming at a special time.
WrestleZone has live coverage of AEW Collision every Saturday evening.

Logan Paulâ€s incredible gesture toward a fan has gone viral.
The Maverick appears to care deeply for his fans despite playing a dastardly heel on WWE television. Paul recently took to social media to reveal that he made a young fanâ€s wish come true.
The boy, Uriel, from Vega Alta in Puerto Rico, allegedly told his father that his greatest wish was to meet Logan Paul in person. The father, who owns a pizzeria, claims that Paul and a friend miraculously showed up at their shop the very next day.
After hearing from the father about his sonâ€s wish, Logan expressed enthusiasm about meeting the fan, even after learning he would have to wait for more than an hour. And wait he did. The best part? Paul also gifted the child a rare 1999 First Edition Pikachu Pokémon card.
Nick Khan reveals how Logan Paul earned John Cenaâ€s respect
Speaking on Impaulsive podcast, WWE President Nick Khan shared that he asked John Cena before Clash in Paris what he thought of Logan. Cena refused to answer until after they worked together. A few hours later, Cena called Khan and gave Paul a big compliment.
“Going into that match I said ‘give me your feelings on Loganâ€. He said ‘Iâ€ll let you know after the matchâ€. Called me maybe an hour or two after the match.†Khan said Cena told him, “He has it.â€
“It was never ‘does he have the physical skills do itâ€, in ring, everyone knows youâ€ve put in the time and you can do it. But for John it was can you work the crowd with him? Can you give and take with him? “
“Do you know how to follow direction and take the lead? I think, certainly from this seat, you proved yourself to him, and I find life is proving yourself over and over. Khan added, “So you got Cenaâ€s validation, which to me meant a lot. By the way we expected that you would get his validation.†[H/T: Wrestletalk]

There is reportedly “no real heat” on Paul Heyman for a fan incident he was involved in at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.
Following Saturday’s PLE, a video has gone viral on social media showing Heyman shoving a young fan out of the way at Petco Park in San Diego. Heyman and Logan Paul are surrounded by security in the video, but the fan is able to get through them and reach Heyman before Heyman shoves him out of the way. Fightful Select reports that, within WWE, there is no real heat on Heyman over what happened — with security considered more at fault for letting the fan get to Heyman in the first place.

“Iâ€m told by WWE sources there was no real heat on Paul Heyman pushing a child out of his way at Survivor Series,” the report said. “There was more heat on security for allowing anyone to get to him.â€
Heyman was the manager of the winning team in the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. The heel group of Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre & Brock Lesnar defeated CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns & The Usos in the main event of the show. A hooded figure — who appears to be the returning Austin Theory — helped the heel side get the win.
Before Survivor Series, Heyman stated that the PLE would be an “infomercial” for WrestleMania season. Rhodes vs. Reigns and Punk vs. Breakker appear to be the WrestleMania directions going forward.
“Cody and Roman for the 3rd time in 4 years? Why? I thought it’d be Roman and Punk. At least that’s a new match”

China’s championship event was expected to highlight the world’s top two ranked players, and China top-ranked league squad – but an unranked Fan Zhendong stole most of the headlines at the 2025 China National Games in Macao.
Fan’s run in Men’s Singles was epic. He won his early matches to reach the Semifinals and that was exciting for his fans – but expected. The unexpected part was his 4-2 win over World No. 1 Wang Chuqin in the Semifinals. And he followed that accomplishment with a 4-1 domination of World No. 2 Lin Shidong.  When the last point of the Final was over (with the score 11-4), the celebration was muted as both players shook hands and the fans cheered. Fan Zhendong’s smile then grew as he showed one finger and then two fingers. The gestures relayed what everyone was thinking – what a massive accomplishment for Zhendong to beat the World No. 1 and then World No. 2 in consecutive days to take one of the biggest titles in the table tennis world in front of a packed room of fans that used to be his.
The top seeded team won in the Team Event. That is, the Beijing team that is anchored by Wang Chuqin and Ma Long won (as expected). However, the other headline of the Team Final was that Fan Zhendong was also undefeated in matches for his team. And, in fact, in the Final between Chuqin’s Beijing squad and Fan’s Shanghai squad it was another win by Fan Zhendong over World No. 1 Wang Chuqin. Fan won the match, but his squad fell 3-1; overpowered by the top seed.
Fan is now back in Germany where he’ll continue the season playing for Saarbrucken in the TTBL. Fan’s professional arc has included World No. 1, winning the World Championships, winning the World Cup, and his last major title before stepping away from the tour – the 2024 Olympic Singles title. Since that time, he’s been at odds with the ITTF and WTT and he was replaced on the Chinese National Team. But at least at this moment, this unranked player has proven again that he is one of the best (perhaps THE best). Fan Zhendong is back in Germany, but he’s also on top of the table tennis world.

Wrestling legend Jimmy Hart may have managed some of the biggest names in the business, but even “The Mouth of the South†wasnâ€t safe from theft this weekend — and now fans and police are on the case.
WrestleCade took to Twitter with a shocking announcement: someone stole Jimmy Hartâ€s signature megaphone during the convention. The incident reportedly happened on Saturday, and security footage will be reviewed by law enforcement.
“🚨 Someone stole Jimmy Hartâ€s megaphone at the convention yesterday. The venue has HD cameras and police will review the footage tomorrow. Jimmy isnâ€t looking to press charges — he just wants it back. If you took it, DM us. 12/2, the police investigation moves forward.â€
While the 80-year-old manager isnâ€t seeking to press charges, the situation is serious. The venue has high-definition surveillance, and authorities are set to review footage on December 2. If the megaphone isnâ€t returned voluntarily, the case will move forward as a criminal matter.
The stolen item isnâ€t just any piece of fan gear — Hartâ€s megaphone has been his trademark since the 1980s, when he managed icons like Hulk Hogan, The Honky Tonk Man, and Bret Hart in WWE. Long before that, Hart built his name in Memphis wrestling during the 1970s, making a name for himself with a sharp voice and even sharper style..
Many fans called the theft disrespectful and pathetic, saying the person responsible should absolutely face consequences — even if Hart himself is willing to let it go. One fan called the act “pathetic†and said the thief should have charges pressed against them, while others expressed disbelief, sadness, and hope that the person gets caught or steps up to return it.
Jimmy Hartâ€s megaphone is more than just a prop — itâ€s a symbol of wrestling history. And while Hart may be willing to forgive, the fans definitely arenâ€t.
Would you press charges or let it slide if someone stole something iconic from your career? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)…
As I sit down on what is an actual day off again as a retail employee (maybe the one good thing that came from COVID), itâ€s time to celebrate one of the few actual days off we get, a time to sit with those you love and be thankful for what you have.
As wrestling fans, we complain as a group a lot. The phrase “you canâ€t please everyone†surely applies with those known collectively as the IWC. With all of the complaints that can happen, though, we truly have plenty to be thankful for.
The Lessons
Pro wrestling is at its core live-action-based storytelling, and the story has been around as long as history itself. The heroâ€s journey, the love triangle, the dishonesty of authority – these are all stories that have been told in many ways. The initial writing of a story is often a reaction to our times or situations. An idea is spurred and put out for the audience. Then it is up to the audience to learn from it.
Cody Rhodesâ€s story taught us to do the right thing. Even in loss due to unfair circumstances, you rise up and try again. The Bloodline showed us what can happen when you trust in family too much and let them gaslight you into how to behave. The stories in wrestling can be so much deeper, though.
Those reading an article such as this follow the inside track behind the scenes. Iâ€ve loved watching those who have started on the indies or in NXT rise to a level above where it was expected theyâ€d end up. For example, seeing Liv Morgan put the work in to being a legitimate main event star; how Christian Cage can take an almost meaningless title and bring it to relevance based on how he treats it; seeing Matt Cardonaâ€s success on the indies based on hard work and promotion.
Iâ€ve grabbed more business and sales lessons through pro wrestling than most of my boring business meetings.
Plenty of It
Letâ€s forget that WWE has product every day of the week. Letâ€s say that weekly shows from TNA and AEW weren’t options. YouTube, Triller, Pluto, TNA+, and even social media feeds are full of highlights, matches, and entire wrestling cards.
All you need is an internet connection and you can take yourself into a whole new world of older content, big company content, or indies showing potential future stars.

Internet Shows and Podcasts
With all of the content mentioned above, who has the time to consume it all? Even if I had the time, as much as I love watching me some wrestling, I donâ€t think I could watch wrestling that often. I love the ease of recap shows and podcasts from trusted voices letting me know all the hottest gossip in my favorite world with its own set of celebrities and drama.
Growing Legitimacy
While it can be annoying to see a flood of celebrities who think they can just get in the ring when the product is hot, itâ€s usually a positive for the wrestling industry. With TKO taking over, you donâ€t have the Vince McMahon problem when trying to have the public see your silly play-fighting company as something for mainstream consumption.
Theyâ€ve used that to great advantage and had not only stars come into the WWE Universe, but a growing number of former wrestlers being seen as bigger movie stars than in previous generations. Coverage on ESPN and other media outlets are looking for people to join their audience and wrestling fans are always looking for content. Every time a comedian, music artist, or actor appears in the crowd, it boosts the credibility of the product; TKO knows this as well as anyone.
I also have enjoyed the first two Real American Freestyle shows, and in the world of legitimate wrestling, I like that they havenâ€t run down whatâ€s been known for years as professional wrestling. This was a mistake by other attempts to make a professional folk or freestyle league. This company is related to Hulk Hoganâ€s name and Kurt Angle, but not brought down by their involvement to be seen as less credible by the athletes involved.
Itâ€s been here for me
Iâ€ve joked with my wife that wrestling has been here for me longer than she has. I didnâ€t even realize until later in my life how true that it is that wrestling really has been there for me. Iâ€ve struggled with mental health issues for most of my life. I always felt a comfort when watching wrestling, but never really put it together until later in life.
You need heroes to look to. In a world where I didnâ€t have a father who was my hero, I latched onto fictional heroes. Be it comic books or professional wrestling, I saw good overcome evil. I saw good things come to those who try hard. I saw heels who got advantages much like the bullies in school.
As a growing adult in a corporate world, this world of fiction where Steve Austin and C.M. Punk spoke truth to power were my heroes in that time. And even I know I can identify with A.J. Lee when she talks about the importance of therapy, or appreciating Becky Lynch and her constant recreation of herself to stay relevant. I watch those who take risks on themselves like Killer Kross and know that thereâ€s life for me outside of a corporate world.
Plus, it can be as simple as knowing that every single Monday, Raw will be on. On Wednesdays, itâ€s Dynamite. Once a month, Iâ€m going to see some really cool matches with some level of importance. I can count on its consistency and sometimes thatâ€s all you need.

Tommy Lamb said he wanted to force himself off the beaten track in his Ashes odyssey
An England cricket fan is travelling from Manchester to Australia for the Ashes series… without taking a single plane.
Tommy Lamb is on Day 96 of an epic quest which he said had been full of “unreal experiences” and occasional tough moments like ending up in a Vietnamese hospital.
“I knew that if I did it after school, it would collide perfectly with the Ashes and it was just a great way to force myself off the beaten track,” said the 18-year-old.
“Wild camping in a cave in Iran – that was great fun!”

cheese_nan_on_tour
Tommy said he was “spreading the word of cricket” along the way
“I’ve always dreamt of going to places where there’s a perceived image of that place,” said the teenager from Manchester.
“You can go and have your own experience of it that perhaps is different to the image portrayed generally.
“And Iran was definitely one of those countries. The most friendly people were around me.”
Tommy hopes to arrive in Adelaide, South Australia, on 16 December in time for the third match of the five-Test series.
The series got under way in Perth, Western Australia, in the early hours of Friday morning, UK time.
‘Back on the road’
Tommy said he had been “spreading the word of cricket” along the way.
“I try to say every time I spend the night somewhere, I’ll find a local person to play cricket with me.”
He said he does not always have access to translation tools so often finds himself going up to strangers in the street with a cricket bat and ball and asking “Can you throw a ball at me?”
“In the middle of the street, what could go wrong?”
Tommy said things did eventually go wrong in Vietnam but it was not because of his cricketing skills.
“I crashed my motorbike – not that I remember very much about it.
“I spent about four nights in hospital and six nights in a hotel recovering from that.
“Thankfully, over the last couple of days I’ve been able to get myself back on the road and I’m feeling much better, looking much better.”
