NOTE 1: Additional viewers watch AEW Dynamite on Max streaming service as of Jan. 1, 2025, and those viewers are not part of the TBS data. That data is not made available.

NOTE 2: Nielson as of this fall is compiling ratings using new methodology called Big Data + Panel. It’s incorporating a wider array of sourcing of viewing data to then extrapolate a total viewership estimate. It means that ratings before this fall were created with a different method and thus there could be differences built in that affect how comparable past data is to new data.

The October 7, 2025 edition of AEW Dynamite featured multiple incredible moments. This included Lacey Lane making her AEW debut against Mercedes Mone. Unfortunately, the show saw a huge decrease in viewership.

According to Dave Meltzer, AEW Dynamite averaged 321,000 viewers, marking a steep decline from the 465,000 viewers drawn on October 1, 2025.

In the key P18–49 demographic, Dynamite fell from a 0.09 rating to 0.07, representing a further decline among younger audiences. These figures reflect linear television audiences only and exclude any streaming numbers from MAX.

AEW Dynamite October 7, 2025: Viewership and Highlights

This weekâ€s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Lacey Lane making her AEW debut against Mercedes Mone, as she answered the CEO of AEWâ€s TBS Championship open challenge. Lane was unable to beat Mone in the end despite her best efforts.

Darby Allin also had a Molotov cocktail in hand and tried to burn the Death Riders at the end of AEW Dynamite this week. This and many other moments took place throughout the night.

New look, who this? (Itâ€s Pac)

At AEW All Out, fans got their first look at a new version of Pac when he returned to help Jon Moxley beat Darby Allin a Coffin Match. The former International Champion arrived to the pay-per-view with shorter hair, a contrast from the long, wet locks he routinely donned in the past. Now on AEW Dynamite, Pac revamped his look once more.

In the main event of AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday, Pac battled Orange Cassidy, another former International Champion. Instead of competing in his usual wrestling trunks, Pac sported a black singlet and long pants. AEW commentator Excalibur also noted that the Death Riders member was looking “incredibly crisp†since returning from an injury.

Despite his new look and smooth in-ring display, Pac ultimately fell short in this match as Cassidy rolled him up for the victory. Afterward, Darby Allin blinded Pac with a foreign spray, then attempted, but failed, to potentially blow up the rest of the Death Riders with a Molotov cocktail.

Prior to this weekâ€s Dynamite, Pac last wrestled against Swerve Strickland in April. During that match, he appeared to sustain a leg injury that later kept him out of action for five months.

Looking ahead, Death Riders leader Jon Moxley will face Darby Allin in an I Quit match at AEW WrestleDream on September 18. As of now, it is unclear if Pac will have a match of his own added to the card.

On Tuesday’s episode of “AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday,” The Hurt Syndicate sought to settle their differences against Ricochet, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun (known collectively as The Demand) in a Street Fight, and it was everything you could hope for it to be. There was a liberal use of weapons (steel chairs, tables, trash cans, the whole nine), a good amount of fun spots, and a victory for the babyface-leaning Hurt Syndicate to, hopefully, close the books on what has been a very volatile chapter in both factions’ histories. While match participants such as Ricochet are known for their aesthetically pleasing and artisanal wrestling styles, this match was not some superior show of in-ring prowess, and that is intentional. It wasn’t a bad match, don’t misunderstand, but there was nothing pretty Tuesday night. You won’t find any poetic monologues about aerial arcs or in-ring chemistry here. Tuesday’s contest was clunky. Tuesday’s match was unpolished, raw, and bitter. Tuesday’s Street Fight was gritty, and it worked.

For MVP to be wrestling at this age is impressive. I commend his commitment to the business and to the success of this 3-on-3 storyline. However, you can kind of tell he’s 51 years old. Where most guys walk and run around the ring, MVP tends to waddle. While his aged waddles might be awkward to watch in other matches, say, All Out’s relatively tame trios match, that same clunkiness worked surprisingly wonderfully in Tuesday’s Street Fight. Like I said, there was nothing polished in Tuesday’s Street Fight. There was no room for intellectual or overcomplicated in-ring dramatics. This was a Street Fight. This was unadulterated, unpolished violence. MVP’s brutish style of wrestling matched the stipulation’s freak.

Aside from MVP’s performance, this was a fun, simple Street Fight. Everyone got their offense in, a multitude of tables were broken, and the home crowd in Jacksonville got their money’s worth in pure violence as all six men threw caution to the wind. The match did go on for a bit too long, and it was anticlimactic to have Shelton Benjamin get the pin off of a Suplex (as incredibly as Ricochet sold it). However, the match was, by and large, just a fun bout, and that’s all it really needed to be. If this is where The Hurt Syndicate and The Demand’s vitriolic rivalry ends (and it should be, Tuesday’s Street Fight felt like the natural conclusion to things), I wouldn’t be mad.

I understand that this entire piece feels like a backhanded compliment, but I genuinely believe this match was as fun and fitting as it was because it was unpolished. If this had been a technical masterpiece, I don’t think it would have been nearly as entertaining or narratively fitting as it was. In a company full of the best technical wrestlers in the world, there is a place for in-ring ugliness. There is merit to not having the most precise, polished match on the card. The Hurt Syndicate and The Demand proved that Tuesday.

A former WWE Superstar answered Mercedes Monéâ€s open challenge for the TBS Championship on AEW Dynamite.

Mercedes Moné put her TBS Championship on the line in an open challenge during this weekâ€s special Title Tuesday edition of Dynamite. Answering the challenge was none other than Lacey Lane, formerly known as Kayden Carter in WWE.

The commentary team noted that Lane made her AEW Dynamite debut by stepping up to the challenge. She had previously competed for Ring of Honor during a taping held in September.

Lacey Lane is best known for her time in WWE as one-half of the tag team Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. The duo previously held the NXT Womenâ€s Tag Team Championship, as well as the WWE Womenâ€s Tag Team Championship.

Carter and Chance were released as part of WWE roster cuts in May. Reacting to her exit, Lane thanked WWE management, her colleagues, and fans, noting that it wasnâ€t the end for her career. Her no-compete clause expired on August 1, 2025.

AEW Dynamite is set to undergo another major change.

Earlier tonight, during the October 4th episode of Collision, a huge change was announced for the upcoming episode of Dynamite.

Next week’s Dynamite will undergo a transition and air on Tuesday instead of its regular Wednesday-night slot. Going by the moniker of ‘Title Tuesday‘, Dynamite will air on October 7th and collide directly with WWE NXT vs TNA Showdown.

For the past few months, WWE has regularly counter-programmed AEW PPVs, including All In, Forbidden Door, and All Out 2025. While a customary tradition of hosting ‘Title Tuesday’ ahead of WrestleDream, this year’s show has surprisingly placed it head-on with the NXT vs TNA Showdown episode.

On tonight’s episode, several highly anticipated matches were announced for ‘Title Tuesday’, including a TNT Championship match between Kyle Fletcher and Kyle O’Reilly. Adam Page and Samoa Joe are also scheduled to go face-to-face before their WrestleDream 2025 match.

Here is the updated match card for the October 7th ‘Title Tuesday’:

  • Brodido vs Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita – Double jeopardy eliminator match
  • Jon Moxley vs Tomohiro Ishii
  • PAC vs Orange Cassidy
  • Kyle Fletcher vs Kyle O’Reilly – TNT Championship match
  • The Hurt Syndicate vs The Demand – Street Fight

AEW President Tony Khan Discusses WWE’s Counterprogramming Tactics

Earlier this year, on the Forbidden Door media call, All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was questioned about WWEâ€s tactics of counterprogramming his shows. Avoiding a direct answer, Khan decided to praise his own company.

“Weâ€ve had a great 2025 in AEW and I believe that, in large part, thatâ€s because everyone in AEW is really focused on making AEW a tremendous promotion and continuing this excellent year weâ€re having.â€

“All these things have come together to build a lot of excitement inside AEW and outside AEW, and all around the company. I want to be able to continue that, and the most important thing for us is to talk about AEW and work really hard on AEW every week. It means not necessarily focusing on what every wrestling promotion is doing, but I do like watching wrestling and keeping up with what other wrestling promotions are doing.

Weâ€ve been in business since 2019 and in every one of those years, there have been other wrestling promotions at times doing very cool things. At the very best of AEW, weâ€ve been super focused on what weâ€re doing. Not being the only wrestling company in the world, but trying our best to be the best. I know we have the best wrestlers, and this year I think weâ€re doing the best TV shows and pay-per-views. I know we have the best fans.â€

Several big matches have been added to next weekâ€s episode of AEW Dynamite, the showâ€s special “Title Tuesday†edition of the show.

During Saturdayâ€s episode of AEW Collision, it was announced that PAC and Orange Cassidy would clash in the ring. This will mark the return of one of Cassidyâ€s first biggest rivalries in AEW history, as his history with The Bastard is well-documented.

Elsewhere in the night, weâ€ll also get to see the third edition of Jon Moxley and Tomohiro Ishii in the ring. The match wonâ€t be for Ishiiâ€s NJPW Strong Openweight Championship. However, it will undoubtedly be another classic entry in the pairâ€s incredible history together.

AEW Dynamiteâ€s Title Tuesday will take place on October 7, 2025, at Dailyâ€s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.

The fully updated card for AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday is as follows:

  • Street Fight: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP) vs. The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona)
  • Double Jeopardy Match: Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) vs. The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada) (with Don Callis)
  • TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. TBA
  • PAC vs. Orange Cassidy
  • Jon Moxley vs. Tomohiro Ishii
  • Samoa Joe and “Hangman†Adam Page meet ahead of their AEW Championship Match at WrestleDream
  • TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) vs. Kyle Oâ€Reilly

AEW Dynamite will be airing a daily earlier this week for their annual Title Tuesday episode with Collision airing the next night. It’s not the first time they are running on a Tuesday night and it also isn’t the first time that they will be going head-to-head with WWE’s NXT brand but this time , it’s a no-win situation for Tony Khan and company.

NXT has been doing crossover promotion with TNA for the past few months, and it all looks set to come to a head (creatively, at least) this Tuesday. The show was initially named Invasion, playing on the old 2001 PPV imagery and really pushing the idea that TNA could be a threat to NXT, but due to the historical significance of October 7 to Israel and the Hamas attacks, WWE changed the name to Showdown.

The card for Showdown, as of this writing, looks pretty much finalized with both companies putting their biggest talent forward in elimination matches in addition to a winner takes all Tag Team title match between The Hardyz and DarkState.

By contrast, Dynamite (again as of this writing) only has a Mercedes Mone open challenge confirmed for the card in addition to match between Brodido and Konosuke Takeshita & Kazuchika Okada that may be postponed due to Bandido’s injury and a street fight between The Hurt Syndicate and The Demand.

We saw during the Wednesday Night Wars that both companies were more than willing to try and get ahead of each other in terms of television ratings, but it’s looking this time that Khan may be focusing more on the ongoing television creative week-to-week rather than hotshotting their own version of a supercard together to combat what is going on at The CW.

The problem here is that Khan and AEW are pretty much in a no-win situation and, ironically, it’s almost a complete flip from where NXT was back when AEW started airing on Wednesday nights in 2019.

Why Tony Khan can’t win

Khan and AEW are in a difficult position and when I say that they can’t “win,” I mean from a perception standpoint: AEW can either beat WWE’s third brand by loading up and doing a random one-off card, or they lose outright to WWE’s third brand.

The NXT of 2025 is not like the NXT of 2019 or the years proceeding. Long gone are the days when NXT TakeOver shows would be the highlight of a PPV weekend with the likes of Adam Cole, Sami Zayn, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Johnny Gargano, etc. putting on cards that would rival anything else in the industry.

Now, we’re genuinely seeing a developmental brand where either established names begin to learn the WWE style (Ricky Saints, Ethan Page) or younger names get their reps in on television (Trick Williams, Lola Vice).

So how do you approach this situation if you’re Tony Khan? Do you keep serving the television audience and stay the course with your current storylines, or do you try and counteract what WWE is doing on Tuesday night? From a perception standpoint, AEW simply cannot win either way. They either look flustered by the competition or they just hope that they have enough going creatively to beat a big invasion-esque storyline.

Why WWE and TNA will win

So if Khan and AEW can’t win on Tuesday, does that mean that WWE and TNA will actually win? Yes, it does. TNA is more than likely heading to The CW on Wednesday nights to compete head-to-head with AEW, and it’s a defacto way for WWE to go head-to-head with AEW without an actual branch of the company having to do so.

If TNA ends up beating AEW, that’s great for WWE business. But if they don’t? It’s only TNA will be the excuse. TNA gets a huge push in terms of branding on Tuesday night ahead of their new television deal set to be announced and NXT gets a differential and a big moment on Tuesday when the two brands collide — all without it actually looking like a hotshotted show to compete with Title Tuesday on TBS.

If AEW does better ratings than NXT? Well, it’s AEW’s biggest weekly show so it should be doing better ratings from a perspective standpoint, and WWE can essentially lay the blame at TNA’s door. If NXT vs. TNA beats AEW in the ratings, it’s a genuine perception changer for TNA. At least, that is how they will try to position themselves ahead of a potential Wednesday night move and WWE will get one over on the only real competition left with zero risk.

Triple H was in charge of NXT when AEW were beating them on television weekly and it led to Vince McMahon completely changing how NXT worked as a brand. With Triple H now in charge of creative on the main roster, there has to at least be a part of him that relishes the idea of sticking it to Tony Khan and AEW Dynamite one more time with “his” brand.
