Ever since Vince McMahon took control of WWE from his father in the 1980s, the promotion has been, one might kindly say, celebrity obsessed. In fairness, that obsession paid off for WWE during those early years; as important as Hulk Hogan was to WWE business taking off, it was also helped by appearances from Cyndi Lauper and Mr. T, Hogan’s tag team partner at WrestleMania 1. Those celebrity endorsements gave WWE credibility within mainstream America, and has only emboldened the promotion to continue using celebrities since then, arguably even more now in WWE’s TKO era. And for a long-time, the celebrity WWE seemed to pursue the most was Cardi B.
Since bursting onto the scene in the mid-2010s thanks to “Love & Hip Hop: New York” and a growing social media following, Cardi B has become one of the more iconic rappers in hip hop, as well as arguably the most successful female hip hop artist in history. Along the way, she also revealed herself to be a pro wrestling fan, though under truly bizarre circumstances. On a January 4 episode of “WWE Raw,” the “WAP” rapper was suddenly brought up by Torrie Wilson, who claimed Cardi, Ariana Grande, and Kylie Jenner were all backstage watching “Raw.” They were not; Wilson’s claims were in fact a ruse to fool then WWE 24/7 Champion Angel Garza into looking for them, allowing R-Truth to retake the 24/7 Title with a roll up.
Cardi B Jokingly Took Issue With WWE Referencing Her On Raw

Under normal circumstances, Cardi B’s involvement in WWE would’ve begun and ended with this reference. Alas, fans immediately began talking about how WWE referenced her, and unlike Grande or Jenner, Cardi took notice of it by asking fans why she was being tagged in “WWE stuff.” Within minutes, she was revealing that she was a fan of wrestling, having grown up a fan of Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, Triple H, Batista, John Cena, Edge, Melina, and Trish Stratus, but not The Rock, who had stopped wrestling prior to her tuning in. Eventually, she got a hold of the segment between Garza and Wilson, and despite her confusion, took it in stride, jokingly telling McMahon to “count your days” due to him “debuting” her on WWE TV like this.
Given this interaction, and how WWE normally moves to get celebrity involvement, most likely anticipated that Cardi B would be making a WWE appearance by WrestleMania, or SummerSlam by the latest. In fact, Cardi was rumored to be the host of SummerSlam that year, only it never came to pass, and despite on and off rumors and the rapper expressing interest, nothing came together for the next few years. It was only earlier this year that WWE announced that Cardi was finally being brought into the fold, which took place at SummerSlam, with her serving as the host for both nights. It was a long time coming for both the rapper and promotion, and it may not have even happened if not for a 2021 backstage segment that initially left Cardi flabbergasted. In wrestling, sometimes reality really is stranger than fiction.
Will Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play 2027 World Cup?While on the surface it may seem that both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are desperate to play—and win—the 2027 World Cup, chief selector Ajit Agarkar has dropped a massive statement on the senior duoâ€s ambitions for the marquee event in two years†time.
On Saturday in Ahmedabad, Agarkar attended the press conference as the BCCI announced Indiaâ€s squads for the ODI and T20I series in Australia to be played later this month.
The biggest revelation was that Rohit has been replaced as the ODI skipper by Shubman Gill, who is the Test captain and T20I vice-captain. Agarkar asserted that the selectors—along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia—agree to not have three different captains in the three formats.
With Gill being the vice-captain of the T20I side, his succession to Indiaâ€s all-format captain is expected to come to fruition next year after the home T20 World Cup, where the 35-year-old Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side.
Coming to Rohit and Kohli, the duo will return to international cricket—both are retired from Tests and T20Is—for the first time since winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in March.
Will Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play 2027 World Cup?
After announcing the squad for the ODI series against Australia, chief selector Ajit Agarkar said, “Both Rohit and Virat are non-committal about the 2027 World Cup.â€
Rohit and Kohli may continue to have ambitions of winning the ODI World Cup, but Agarkarâ€s comments indicate that they are uncertain for the 2027 World Cup, which will be hosted in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. Rohit is currently 38 years old, and Kohli is 36.
While Kohli won the 2011 World Cup, he was a youngster; Rohit was not picked in the squad. The duo then suffered heartbreaks in three consecutive ODI World Cup knockout matches—losing the semi-finals in 2015 and 2019 and the final at home in 2023 after an unbeaten campaign until the title clash.
Rohit, indeed, has time and again reiterated about his dream of lifting the ODI World Cup trophy, which he missed by a whisker a couple of years ago.
Another interesting topic during Agarkarâ€s press conference was whether Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will make themselves available for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Indiaâ€s premier domestic 50-over tournament.
Will Rohit and Kohli play in Vijay Hazare Trophy?
While Agarkar didnâ€t confirm their availability or non-availability, the chief selector made it clear that the BCCI has asked all the players to make themselves available for domestic cricket when they are fit and not playing international cricket.
“We have made it clear that whenever the guys are available, they should be playing domestic cricket. If you are not playing international cricket, you are expected to play domestic cricket,†Agarkar said.
Some interesting few months await with regard to Indian cricket and its two biggest superstars, Rohit and Kohli.

AEW World Champion Adam Page took a hard stance on social media after ICE recruitment ads aired multiple times during the October 1st, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Fans who tuned into the show were surprised to see commercials promoting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement airing during nearly every break—and Hangman wasnâ€t having it. Shortly after the broadcast ended, Page took to Bluesky to voice his frustration with the networkâ€s ad choices.
“f**k ice airing commercials during dynamite, let em know,†he wrote.
Page didnâ€t stop there—he followed up with direct links to both TBS and Warner Bros. Discoveryâ€s feedback forms, urging viewers to lodge official complaints.
The repeated ICE ads stood out during a program known for its progressive audience and talent. Many felt it clashed with the values that AEW and its fanbase generally support. While AEW itself doesnâ€t control what ads air during their timeslot, the backlash has now put pressure on Warner Bros. Discovery to reconsider what kind of spots they run during Dynamite.
As of now, neither TBS nor WBD has responded publicly to the criticism, but with the AEW World Champion leading the charge, fans are waiting to see if future broadcasts will still include controversial government recruitment ads.

Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi (PTI Photo/Kamal Kishore) Just a day before the much-anticipated Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan, PCB chairman and Asian Cricket Council chief Mohsin Naqvi has stirred controversy with a cryptic post on social media. On Friday, Naqvi wrote: “How much time do you need to explain the reasons behind the balancing act?†It appears to be a remark that has sparked speculation about its target and timing.
Pakistan coach fires warning ahead of Asia Cup final
The post came against the backdrop of escalating tensions between the two cricket boards, BCCI and PCB. Earlier this week, India captain Suryakumar Yadav was summoned for an ICC hearing after Pakistan lodged a complaint over his comments that paid tribute to Indian armed forces and victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!Though Suryakumar pleaded not guilty, ICC match referee Richie Richardson ruled that the statement breached the code of conduct. The Indian skipper has been fined 30 percent of his match fee.The BCCI, meanwhile, lodged its own complaint against Pakistanâ€s Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for their provocative gestures during the Asia Cup Super 4 clash. Rauf mimicked the downing of an aircraft, while Farhan celebrated his fifty with a mock gun-firing gesture. Both acts triggered backlash for crossing the line of on-field behaviour. The ICC has since penalised Rauf with a 30 percent match fee deduction, while Farhan received an official warning. In a surprising move, Naqvi, according to Pakistani media outlets, has offered to personally pay Raufâ€s fine, further intensifying the spotlight on the issue.Adding fuel to the fire, Naqvi also shared a slow-motion Cristiano Ronaldo video on X (formerly Twitter), showing the footballer mimicking a crashing motion. The clip bore striking resemblance to Raufâ€s controversial gesture, raising questions about whether the PCB chief was indirectly endorsing the playerâ€s actions. With both boards trading complaints and players facing sanctions, the run-up to the Asia Cup final has been overshadowed by off-field controversies. The ICC has maintained that political gestures have no place in cricket, but tensions between the rivals have blurred the lines of acceptable conduct.
Bayley’s confusing response to this WWE star’s recent reunion.
For the past few months, fans have been witnessing a major character shift in Bayley. Displaying dual character personalities and other instabilities, The Role Model’s recent social media activity left fans confused.
Recently, on the September 22nd episode of Raw, Bayley snapped after Roxanne Perez attacked her former ally, Lyra Valkyria. However, after defeating Perez, she displayed similar aggressive behavior toward the former women’s intercontinental champion.
Although her entire character and nature changed when she left a confusing message on X(Twitter) after NXT. On the September 23rd episode of NXT, Lyra Valkyria reunited with her former partner, Tatum Paxley, in a backstage segment. Seemingly jealous of Valkyria’s friendship, the 36-year-old wrote,
Speaking of, I just called you!!!! Now I understand why you didnâ€t pick up. Always working!
With tension rising between Valkyrie and Bayley, fans can expect the two to soon clash inside the ring.
Bayley Gets Honest About Her Original Heel Turn
Last year, in an interview with The Pro Wrestling Experience, Bayley discussed her original heel turn in WWE, where she evolved from her ‘hugger’ personality.
“When I became a bad guy, I felt like I lost a genuine connection with fans. It was like they donâ€t know how they feel about me or whether they still want to like me or what it was. It was a genuine disconnection. Sometimes I still think about like, man, I wonder if I never would have done that, where I would be now, or if I would be better or if I would be worse off.â€
“But then I think about times like during the pandemic. I donâ€t know if that character would have been able to last through the pandemic and have the type of success that I did then. I always credit them allowing me to have that moment and them allowing me to explore my growth because I didnâ€t feel that what I was doing at the time was going to extend my career any longer. I knew I needed to turn that page and just make something different happen.â€
