Max Casterâ€s days of cutting freestyle raps in AEW are officially over, according to “The Best Wrestler Alive.†Appearing on Hey! (EW), Caster discussed his frustrations with some of the questions fans frequently ask him.

“When is The Acclaimed gonna come back?†When are you gonna rap again?†The thing is, Iâ€m not, first of all, Iâ€m never ever gonna rap at AEW again.”

For Caster, stepping away from rapping is a business decision. Referring to recent controversies involving comedians, he explained that he doesnâ€t want his words to put AEWâ€s television presence at risk.

“You see whatâ€s happening to Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert for saying (bleeps) on TV, getting the shows canceled. Imagine if I get AEW Dynamite canceled or Collision canceled.â€

Casterâ€s freestyles have previously sparked backlash, including a line years ago that many felt mocked Olympian Simone Biles†mental health. In December 2024, AEW cut a line referencing Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

While Caster has ditched rapping, he doesn’t regret what he has said. Even when concerned about being ‘canceled,’ Platinum Max remains defiant.

“people need to realize that. Donâ€t apologize for anything you do or say if itâ€s just people calling for your head. Itâ€s pointless. Thatâ€s how Iâ€ve survived.

Caster remains active on the mic with plenty to say, but his days cutting raps are over. Instead, Caster will let his actions in the ring do the talking.

Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson believes his team can win the NBA championship when Kyrie Irving, who is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in his left knee last March, returns to the court.

Thompson made his remarks during the Mavericks’ media day on Monday.

The 33-year-old Irving averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds last season. He’s a nine-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA player who helped lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to the 2016 NBA championship.

Clearly, having Irving back in the mix will help the Mavs. The question is when he’ll return, but that’s unknown right now.

Irving spoke on his rehab at media day (h/t Tim Cato of DLLS Sports).

“I’m figuring out what I can do to push myself to where I need to be,” Irving said. “I’ve made that statement clear that I’m trying to be better than I was, which is a hard task. I felt like I was in a great rhythm before I got injured. I felt like I was able to play 40-plus minutes per night with no problem. … It was more of the mental approach that I’m trying to get back to, that my talent and my skill will catch back over time as I continue to play against the best players in the world.

“Just don’t pay attention to putting yourself in a position to put a date out there (to return). And if you don’t make that date, then what happens? You’re in here answering questions, like, ‘It was pushed back.’ I’d rather just let it be where it is.”

Right now, FanDuel Sportsbook lists Dallas 14th on the NBA championship odds ledger at 40-1. Dallas’ biggest problem toward winning the NBA Finals is a loaded Western Conference, which features the favorite to win the title (the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder).

Other potential powerhouses include the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors, all of whom have shorter odds to win the championship.

The Mavs, of course, have a star big man in Anthony Davis and a star rookie in No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg. They are surrounded by good talents including Thompson, big man Dereck Lively II and P.J. Washington, among others.

When Irving gets back, the Mavs will be a formidable threat. They’ll still face a tough climb to get to the mountaintop, but Dallas does look like a playoff team on paper. From there, who knows what might happen, but for now, the Mavs look forward to their season opener on Oct. 22 against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Rock sings a song on

WWE

Whether The Rock returns to WWE anymore or not is anyone’s guess at this point, despite what appears to be unfinished business and/or abandoned storylines still floating out there in the universe. According to “Busted Open Radio’s” Bully Ray, “The Final Boss” simply doesn’t need wrestling at the moment, focusing on Hollywood matters, but he does envision a final goodbye, tied to John Cena’s retirement tour.

“I don’t think The Rock would want to cloud anything up in Hollywood right now by coming back to pro wrestling,” Bully said. “I think he’s got his career back to where he wants in Hollywood, thus doesn’t need wrestling right now to serve whatever purpose he needed it to serve in the past for him.” Seeking some closure, however, more so than wrapping up any loose ends he may have left from his last run, Bully wants The Rock to close the book on things symbolically, with an appearance after Cena’s final match.

“There is some spilled milk to still clean up,” he said. “I know other people have cleaned it up and still continue to clean it up but I’d love to see him come back and do it himself.” In this scenario, Rock wouldn’t be putting a bow on his career with a final match of his own, but rather in a joint farewell of sorts, after Cena wraps up his own WWE run—against an interesting opponent.

“I’m talking about this: Here’s my off-the-top-of-my-head scenario. Last match: Dom versus John.”

Thank you Cena (and Rock?)

The Rock faces off with John Cena at WrestleMania 40

WWE

Highlighting Cena’s final run so far was capturing a record 17th WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. But one title he’s never held in his career is the Intercontinental Championship, currently held by “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. In Bully’s proposal, that’s the angle that they’d lean into heavily to set up the big double-goodbye.

“IC Championship on the line,” he envisioned. “Holy s***! Will John win the IC Championship on his last night in the company? The only championship that he’s never won before, right? I’m interested.” Keeping in line with the age-old wrestling tradition of going out staring at the lights, Bully doesn’t see Cena winning here, but rather falling to Mysterio after the champ uses some very familiar underhanded tactics. “Get to the finish of the match,” he added, “lie, cheat, and steal, just like Uncle Eddie [Guerrero taught him] and he beats John Cena.”

With the match finish now in the rear view, and a victorious Mysterio now having exited, this is where Bully sees the surprise appearance from The Rock taking place, just as Cena is getting his flowers from the fans and thank yous are put forth in both directions. “Right in the middle of the ‘Thank you, Cena!’ chants, [Rock’s music hits]. Boom! The place will s*** itself.”Â

Bully’s final visual, then, would play out like so: “Out comes The Rock and there’s your face to face. Rock takes John’s wrist and he lifts it in the air one final time and The Rock leaves, end of story.”

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native Lee Moriarty got a huge opportunity on “AEW Dynamite” on Wednesday from his hometown when he challenged for the AEW World Championship for the first time, but there was one other Pittsburgh native noticeably absent from the show. Former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker did not make an appearance on “Dynamite.” Baker was last seen on the November 13 episode of the show, and in the latest “Wrestling Observer Newsletter,” Dave Meltzer said he doesn’t believe Baker will be back.

Meltzer wrote in “The Observer” that with no Baker on the show, “we can probably write her off.” He noted that Pittsburgh would have been the place for her to return if it was going to happen. Fightful Select has previously noted that Baker has around a year left on her deal.

The November 13 episode of “Dynamite” was also Baker’s most recent match in AEW. She defeated Penelope Ford at the show in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After the match, she was confronted by Serena Deeb, but Baker told Deeb, yelling from the ring to the ramp, that “nobody cares.”

The most recent Baker update came in July when a report emerged that she was actively looking to part ways with AEW. It was later clarified that wasn’t the case, and AEW President Tony Khan has commented on Baker’s status with the company. Khan said in July that he had never had a conversation with Baker about her leaving AEW, and said he likes her a lot. Khan said that Baker was an example of someone who is very talented who can be used in AEW “in the right situation at the right time,” and just like in other sports, some talented people aren’t starting all the time.

Green Bay Packers edge-rusher Micah Parsons told reporters on Tuesday it would be “painful” sacking former teammate Dak Prescott during Week 4’s matchup between the teams, calling Prescott “my guy” and a “good mentor” during his time in Dallas.

Prescott, of course, is hoping that Parsons doesn’t have the chance.

“I hope it’s not (painful) for me. And I hope he doesn’t get to me,” he told reporters Thursday. “It’ll definitely be fun. It’s one me and my fiancée were just talking about the other day. Just all the reps of practice going against Micah, times when he couldn’t hit me, whether him getting back there, just the trash talk back and forth, me telling him he wouldn’t tackle me anyways, he still can’t bring me down. Just getting to go out there and compete with a guy that that’s a good friend, that I’ve competed with in numbers of ways throughout this building, outside of this building. Just excited to go and have that matchup. But he’s got five guys up front, plus tight ends and running backs that he’s got to get through. Then we’ll worry about if he can get to me.”

There’s a pretty good chance that Parsons will at least get a hit on Prescott—through three contests with the Packers he has six quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss. Given that he’s been with the team for less than a month and was given limited snaps to start the season, that’s pretty solid production.

And you have to imagine he’ll be motivated to torment his former team after the Cowboys chose to trade him to Green Bay rather than extending him. Prescott should probably keep his head on a swivel on Sunday night.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin isn’t a fan of his team’s SEC schedule for the 2026 season.

Kiffin said that the inclusion of Oklahoma as an annual opponent for the Rebels “doesn’t make any sense,” per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN).

“We don’t have anything in common with them or our fans,” Kiffin explained. “That’s unfortunate with so many great teams that we’ve played for a long time here.”

The SEC recently released its nine-game schedule for 2026, which features each team facing off against three conference rivals on an annual basis for the next four seasons. The annual opponents for Ole Miss are LSU, Mississippi State and Oklahoma.

Teams will also play against each conference opponent every two years as part of the updated schedule.

The Rebels and Sooners don’t have much of a shared history, as they’ve only met twice since 1999. Ole Miss won both contests.

Oklahoma spent just over two decades in the Big 12 before joining the SEC ahead of the 2024 season.

Despite the lack of an established rivalry, both schools could develop one with yearly matchups incoming. Oklahoma and Ole Miss are undefeated to start the 2025 season and were ranked No. 7 and No. 13 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, respectively.

The two teams will also face off this year, with the Rebels traveling to battle the Sooners on Oct. 25.
