WWE just announced an important detail regarding one of their vacant title.
WWE ID launched in October 2024 as a developmental program designed to support independent wrestlers. The program provides financial backing, training, and access to world-class facilities for emerging talent. The ID Women’s Championship serves as the centerpiece of this initiative, defended exclusively on the independent circuit and open to any independent female wrestler who wishes to compete for it. This structure allows the company to scout emerging talent from across the wrestling landscape while offering valuable opportunities to competitors.
WWE Set to Crown New Champion
WWE ID will crown a new Women’s Champion on November 17th at Wrestling Open Rhode Island, held at Rhodes On Pawtuxet in Cranston, Rhode Island. The winner will not only claim the championship title but will also receive an ID contract, providing a significant opportunity for independent female wrestlers seeking to advance within the company’s developmental system.
BREAKING….
The new WWE ID Women’s Champion will be crowned on Nov. 17th at @WrestlingOpenRI at Rhodes On Pawtuxet in Cranston, RI!

— WWE ID (@WWEID) November 6, 2025
The title became vacant when Kylie Rae, the inaugural ID Women’s Champion, stepped back from competition after announcing her pregnancy. Rae captured the first-ever championship on August 1st at GCW Presents WWE ID Showcase in Rutherford, New Jersey, defeating Zayda Steel and Zara Zakher in a Triple Threat match. Her reign lasted approximately two months before she vacated the position.
The promotion announced the championship match through social media, indicating that the victor will be awarded a ID contract. Currently, Zoe Sager is the only active female wrestler signed to ID. The promotion will release additional details regarding the competitors as the event date approaches. This championship defense demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to developing independent talent and expanding its developmental program.

Not only did the future Hall-of-Famer score the goal that gave Winnipeg a lead that it never relinquished in a 5-3 victory over the desperate Calgary Flames on Friday, but Toews won almost all of his faceoffs in a game where possession of the puck is so important.
That helped the Jets rebound from a 3-0 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.
“Itâ€s huge,†said Toews. “Even in the first period, we were wanting to get one early to just get over the hump a little bit, especially after being shut out last night.
“Those things can build sometimes if you start forcing it and grip it a little tight. But I think we just sat on the bench and in the locker-room to keep pushing it and it was going to come. It shows a lot of maturity and it doesnâ€t matter who youâ€re playing or where they are in the standings.
“The league is so good now that you canâ€t take anyone for granted, and we knew that they were going to play some desperate hockey tonight. We had to work for those two points, and sometimes itâ€s not perfect but I think we are building our team game. A lot of new guys are finding their way with this team.”
The Flames are now winless in their last eight games.
Toews scored at 6:24 of the second to give Winnipeg a 2-1 edge when he deflected a Josh Morrissey pass past Calgary netminder Dustin Wolf. The Flames challenged for goalie interference but lost.
“I didnâ€t feel too good about it once there were challenges,†Toews said. “I havenâ€t had too many of those go my way in the past. I was just trying to prepare myself for the worst and shake it off if the call goes against us, whatever, keep playing. But it was nice to get that one. I didnâ€t feel like I interfered, but I havenâ€t seen the replay. But it was good to have that one count.â€
Toews got a loud ovation from the hometown crowd of 13,917 at Canada Life Centre after scoring that goal and another one when he was named the gameâ€s second star.
“Itâ€s a lot of fun to play in this building,†Toews said. “Iâ€ve always loved coming here in the past and it was always great energy. There are no better hockey fans in the world.
“Itâ€s nice to be on the right side now and to score a goal and hear the crowd. It definitely gives you some jump out there.â€
The Jets needed that jump.
“I think the first half, we worked pretty hard for our breaks,†Toews said. “But it was nice to see us convert a few times on the power play. Midway through the game, we were really going after them and all four lines were rolling, contributing. To see it going the way it was going with all the penalties, we knew we had to kill some and deal with a push from the other team.
“But then, to get the goal in the third, good for our guys to get those kills and for Coms (goalie Eric Comrie) to stand tall in net as well.â€
Toews is among the top three in the NHL in faceoff winning percentage and the other Jets centres are improving.
“Yeah, we’ve talked about it a lot and it’s kind of grown confidence in our other guys,†said Jets coach Scott Arniel. “Bear’s (Morgan Barron) been doing great, Scheif’s (Mark Scheifele) been doing great, like even Vladdy (Gabriel Vilardi). They’ve all improved their faceoffs. Whether he’s talking to those guys, but … we feel a lot more comfortable now.
“I mean, you set up plays all the time. You have a D-zone draw, you usually have something you’re trying to do. … If you don’t win draws, you never get to really see them. So, there’s always something called. That’s usually why they’re all huddled up calling a play.â€
Toews won 13 of 15 faceoffs.
Kyle Connor, Alex Iafallo, Vlad Namestnikov, into an empty net, and Vilardi also scored for Winnipeg. Morrissey assisted on three of the goals.
“He was real good again tonight,†Arniel said. “He played an awful lot of minutes in back-to-back games, but he loves that.â€
Blake Coleman, Mikael Backlund and Nazem Kadri scored for Calgary.
At some point during the Lakers†preseason, Luka Doncic will play in a game.
The question is when.
Even after being a full participant in practice Saturday, Lakers coach JJ Redick said that Doncic was “TBD†(to be determined) when asked if his star guard would play in Sundayâ€s exhibition game against the Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena.

Redick said Austin Reaves will play and that Marcus Smart will see action in his first preseason game of the season.
The Lakers will play six preseason games, three of them coming after the game against the Warriors.
After practice, Doncic was asked when he would play.
“I donâ€t know yet,†he said. “We got to talk about it — JJ and my team. So, I donâ€t know yet. But Iâ€m probably going to end up playing two games of the preseason.â€
When the regular season starts Oct. 21 at home against the Warriors, Doncic will not have running mate LeBron James beside him.

James was diagnosed with sciatica nerve issue on his right side, the Lakers announced to the media Thursday, saying that heâ€ll be re-evaluated in approximately three to four weeks.
James and Doncic formed a great partnership when they played together after the shocking blockbuster trade last February.
Not having James to start the season has to be unsettling for Doncic and the Lakers.
“Itâ€s a big change,†Doncic said. “Heâ€s a great player. He can help us a lot. But at the end of the day, our mentality needs to be next man up. We got a group of guys that have been practicing and hopefully LeBron can join us as soon as possible. We are going to obviously need him. But our mentality has got to be next man up. Thatâ€s it.â€

Doncic will get plenty of help from Reaves, Smart, Deandre Ayton, Jared Vanderbilt and others with James out.
Still, the assumption is that Doncic will have to carry a heavy load with James sidelined.
“No. I donâ€t view it that way,†Doncic said. “I just want to play basketball. If I do less, if I do more, whatever it takes for me to get a win.â€
James hasnâ€t practiced at all, but Doncic said that hasnâ€t stopped the two of them from figuring out the team can still function at a high level.
“Itâ€s not everything about on the court. Thatâ€s what Iâ€ve been saying,†Doncic said. “Itâ€s about chemistry off the court, too. So, obviously, now itâ€s a little more off the court, but while we watched practices this week, we talked a lot about it.â€

Lakers keep moving ahead without James
They had known over the summer that James had been dealing with “the nerve irritation,†Redick said, and so it wasnâ€t a total surprise James is going to be out with a sciatica issue.
Redick said James has been on the court “every day†doing individual work. He just hasnâ€t been able to practice with his teammates.
Redick was asked how James’ inability to participate in practice affected his game planning for practice and going into the season knowing that he wonâ€t be available for a while.
” No, no effect on practice planning,†Redick said. “And we haven’t game-planned yet, so, no effect.â€

Redick had not put too much emphasis on his starting lineup during training camp and during the preseason games.
But with James turning 41 in December, entering his 23rd season and being injured in training camp, Redick was asked if he could foresee having a lineup with James starting and another with him out.
“Potentially. Yeah,†he said. “Something that certainly has crossed my mind in the last couple days. Yeah…You hope that he’s back soon. That’s, those things are, those things can be tricky. So it, I don’t think it’s …
“We knew this going into camp, so it wasn’t like it’s changed anything for how we want to practice or what our philosophies are with the preseason games. It is unclear who’s gonna be, what the starting lineup is gonna be. That’s the reality until he is back. We’ll have to figure that out.â€
